Spacious private home , private pool, dogs allowed, near boat dock, restaurants

Big Blue is a spacious private home tucked away in Surfside Shores, a private beach neighborhood with trees, vegitation and sand dunes. A 5 to 10 min walk to beach access, but close enough to the shore to hear the ocean when out on either of the two large decks at the back of the house.

We are just a hop down the road to Tacky Jacks and Sassy Bass restaurants in Ft Morgan and the new Jessie's by the Bay in Gulf Shores. If you would like some exercise, take a walk directly down our beach to the Sassy Bass Island Grill at the Plantations right near the water.


Home Layout:

The first floor has a master bedroom in the front of the house and the washer dryer. The back of the house faces the gulf, and the pool. Both bedrooms in the back of the house have french door access to the large back deck. The back bedrooms are connected by a large Jack and Jill bathroom with a rainfall shower.

The second floor has a wide open floorplan with the kitchen and living room sharing the same space. In the front of the house, the second master bedroom has a large closet space. The kitchen has french door access to the large top deck for outdoor dining.

We have stocked the kitchen well with a ninja blender, toaster, a drip coffee maker, modern fridge with ice maker. Pots, pans and cooking utensils and plenty of plates and utensils.

The staircase to the crows nest is on the second floor and our young guest love this unique space with the twin bed, small foldout foam couch and writing desks. We also have guests use this area as a remote working space or creative writing space.

We use Skylink high speed satellite internet for any remote work needs.

Each bedroom and the living room have smart tv’s for streaming video, live tv or gaming.

We are just a short drive to the Ft Morgan ferry doc for day trips to Dauphin Island and Pirates Cove.

Loved our stay at this house. It was very clean. Our hostess was very accommodating, friendly, helpful, and responsive. It was a lovely location. I loved our private pool. The beach was beautiful. And I love that it is not so crowded. Our family had a wonderful time.

All was good except the downstairs bedroom at the front of the house there was something on the sheets that was biting my son and his wife but stopped once they washed them before the second night

Wow!

I will start by saying the communication with Elisa was incredible. What a great host! The house is beautiful and spacious. The pool was just the right size and refreshing. We were very close to the ocean. You can see the ocean from the upper balcony which we spent time having coffee in the morning and drinks in the evening. My family and I plan on returning. Also, my oldest grandson enjoyed the crows nest. It was a private getaway for him. Thank you Elisa for sharing your wonderful home with us!

Nice House, Great Vacation

The house was very clean, beds and bedding were comfortable. Kitchen was nicely stocked with cookware and utensils. The location was perfect. We loved the quiet neighborhood and private beach. We all had a blast in the pool. You should definitely rent the golf cart. While it is technically within walking distance, the golf cart is very handy when hot, sweaty and tired after a day at the beach lugging all your bags. We would stay here again!

Wonderful!!!

Had a wonderful time, and appreciate onsite managers, Lisa and Jays help. House and pool were great, and glad we got the golf cart. Not far to the beach, but made it so much easier. Adding to our vacation spots to return to. Only drawback were the jellyfish, but that's nature for ya!!! Thanks Elisa!!!

Great family vacation

6 adults and 3 children 10 and under. Private pool which the grandkids loved! Only issue was there was no parking at the beach for vehicles-just golf carts. Plenty of space for all!

Twice as nice...

Second time we have stayed at this property, and it was just as nice as we remembered. Great communication with the host. The only issue we had was with the coffee maker, and it was fixed immediately. We will be back, and would highly recommend. We have a family of 5, and 2 dogs, and we had more than enough room. Thanks for another great family vacation in Fort Morgan!

Pretty House

If you’re going to be rained in by a hurricane for most of your vacation, this house is a good one to stay in. All kidding aside, the house was clean and beautiful. The pool was nice and I didn’t find the walk to the beach to be too daunting. Would stay there again.

Restful week!

Great location and beautiful property! Plenty of room and well appointed. Great communication with owner Elisa and local property manager Lisa who was readily available for anything. The pool was a perfect perk and of course we love all the little local spots Fort Morgan has to offer! Thanks for a great Labor Day week!

Super Location!

Best neighborhood to stay in Ft Morgan!!! House is within walking distance to beacb access, however a cart rental makes it more bearable!! We had a few minor hiccups upon arrival, but quick communication with owner/property manager corrected those.

July Fourth Family Vacation

Had a great holiday week with the family! The house was spacious and the pool for the kiddos was a huge plus! The recommendation for the golf cart was greatly appreciated, it made traveling back and forth to and from the beach a breeze since I always tend it overpack! Will definitely be back! ❤️

Our stay at your home was truly exceptional, and we have been enthusiastically recommending it friends and family ever since. Every aspect of our visit exceeded our expectations. Amazing Place to Stay

This was our second time staying in Gulf Shores and this place far exceeded our previous experience. The house was great but having the pool in the backyard was great as we had multiple children that required naps so we were not stuck inside. We rented a golf cart so getting stuff to the beach was no issue. Elisa was more than flexible with travel arrangements. One of the best part was being secluded from the downtown craziness but a quick and easy 15 minute drive or so to get to restaurants. Should we return to gulf shores we would definitely stay here again.

Disappointed

This was our second month long stay at this property. Last year we were disappointed that the pool wasn’t heated as it was chilly most our stay. Owner stated the pool would be heated by fall of 2023. Shame on me for not checking before booking for the month of March this year. Pool was not heated and owner only took action after complaining. The heater was installed during our 4th week there and it took a week to dial it in. So out of a 5 week stay we’ve able to use the pool a couple of days. Unfortunately it was as chilly if not more this year. Overall property maintenance was poor. Gas grill was destroyed and replaced after we said something. Mesh around the pool to keep the sand out was all flapping in the wind. I went out and bought zip ties and repaired myself. Board and pallets from building still laying around the property. We used some of the boards last year for a makeshift sidewalk to the pool that’s still there. Nothing permanent done. Oven door was broken but usable. Faucet fixtures loose last year are still loose along with towel fixtures in the bathroom. Also keep in mind there are 38 stair steps to get to the main living area. For us the pool heated was the big disappointment. Owner had a year to get this done and stated it would be. Again, shame on me for not confirming as we would have never booked without it. Everything considered this will be our last time at this property.

Great House!

Gorgeous house that was well stocked. Our only regret was that we couldn’t stay longer. For guests- I would recommend a beach cart/wagon for hauling stuff to the beach or a golf cart for those with mobility issues.

Great vacation home

Big Blue Sea was a wonderful vacation home. We enjoyed our stay. The home was beautiful; kitchen well equipped for cooking meals; bedrooms and beds were comfortable; everything was clean; and the family areas of the home provided spaces for connecting with one another (pool area was great & living room had games). The host was quick to communicate and helpful! Overall, a nice home for a beach getaway!

OMG...I don't know where to start. First, Elisa is wonderful. Very quick at replying to messages and requests. House was great. Pool was beautiful. Kitchen was set up perfectly (with the exception of it being on the top floor). The bedrooms/bathrooms were very spacious. The walk to the beach was a little further than we expected but we managed. The private beach was extremely nice--not crowded at all. Our family enjoyed every minute of our stay and we will definitely be staying here again.

Amazing home!

We had an absolutely amazing time this past week staying here. The location was wonderful. Home was very clean and very well stocked of linens. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need to cook meals with. The property manager Lisa was absolutely amazing! The pool was perfect. The crows nest was beautiful at night time. This was our first trip to Alabama and definitely won't be our last thanks to the amazing time we had here. If you're looking for a family friendly, peaceful location and overall relaxing vacation i highly recommended booking this home! :)

Dan and I are comic book artists from Colorado and discovered Gulf Shores on a trip down to visit friends. We fell in love with the area and bought a plot of land and designed and built Big Blue Sea. We love the natural light for writing and drawing and the wonderful energy of the Gulf Shores area.

What set this neighborhood apart for us was the pine trees! It was a mix of our home from Colorado, and a spot near the beach. We also love our beach crane the locals named Fred, and the pelicans that fly past our balcony to their nesting area. We have been a part supervising the turtle hatching on our beach! It's a little bit of heaven.

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

Big Blue is one of many great houses in this little nook in Gulf Shores. We have a lot of trees and vegitation that provide a bit of nature and privacy, and also have the dunes in front of the house that protect us from windy days. Our pool is a perfect way to refresh after a long day at the beach. We intentionally left a lot of space around our furniture for guests to be able to bring in their coolers and luggage and still be comfortable to move around the house. We have kept it simple so you have plenty of room to make it your own for the week.
