Sailboat Ragamuffin is a Classic Sailboat, she is moored just of the shore of Water Island, in Elephant Bay. Your crew consists of Captain, cook, and 2 young people friendly Cats,
While the boat does not go sailing we offer the use of two single kayaks and snorkel equipment.
2 private cabins both have private bathroom
A normal day Breakfast is served usually by 9:00 and the Captain takes you to shore, Honeymoon Beach, Charlotte Amalie the downtown shopping district, or Crown Bay the place to catch a cab or go off on a dollar bus adventure. We pick you up from shore usually about 5pm so you can enjoy a sunset cocktail while dinner is being prepared.. We offer a nice selection of quality liquor and wines. Let us know if you are having a special event, Birthday, Anniversary...

Unique experience

Jo & Loran are kind with amazing stories. Jo worked to make sure the meals were to our liking and they were. Enjoyed watching the sunset each night.

BEST STAY EVER

Loren and Jo provided us with a thoroughly unique and enjoyable travel experience. Jo is a wonderful cook and coxswain (she took us ashore every morning and picked us up every evening); and then each night, Loren regaled us with sea stories over a few adult beverages.I highly recommend a stay aboard Sailboat Ragamuffin for anyone who is looking for something different in a Caribbean vacation.

On the boat

A Unique and Beautiful Stay on a Sailboat

My recent stay on a sailboat was nothing short of magical. From the moment I stepped aboard, I knew this was going to be a special experience. The boat itself was beautifully maintained, with a charming and cozy interior that made me feel right at home. The gentle rocking of the boat was incredibly soothing, and I loved waking up to the sound of the water lapping against the hull. One of the highlights was the stunning views from the deck. Whether it was watching the sunrise with a cup of coffee or enjoying the sunset with a glass of wine, the scenery was breathtaking. The sunsets in particular were absolutely mesmerizing, painting the sky in hues of pink, orange, and purple. The hosts were wonderful, making sure everything was perfect for my stay. They provided great recommendations for local attractions and dining, and were always available if I needed anything. Despite being on the water, I never felt disconnected thanks to the modern amenities provided, including reliable Wi-Fi and a well-equipped kitchen. What made this experience truly special was the sense of peace and tranquility that comes with staying on the water. It was the perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of daily life. If you’re looking for a unique, relaxing, and beautiful place to stay, I highly recommend this sailboat experience. I’m already looking forward to my next visit!

Best food and convo around

What a unique experience! We loved talking to Jo and Loren about their life on the islands. They know all the best snorkel spots and will taxi you around in their dingy. We loved jumping off the boat and seeing their resident barracuda in the water. Breakfast and dinner is included and cooked by Jo. Such delicious meals!! We feel like we just gained some good new friends. This is boat living. You are sleeping on boat cots, no a/c, and a pump to flush the toilet. If you’re looking to stay off the beaten path and are up for an adventure this is the place!

Can’t Beat Ragamuffin!

We had the most incredible time here! Jo and Loren are the nicest hosts, and made us instantly feel like lifelong family. You can’t go wrong staying with them! Fantastic drinks, great food, and amazing company. We snorkeled off the boat to a nearby shipwreck that they suggested. We cannot wait to get back to the USVI and stay with Ragamuffin again!!!

So Fun!

We had a great time with Jo and Loren. Jo cooks AMAZING food and Loren tells many stories of sailing over the years. They were so accommodating when our flight came in early, and took us to snorkel a ship wreck near their boat, and to nearby Honeymoon beach, both of which we loved. Their cats were an added source of joy. Highly recommend staying here. They made us feel like family! We already miss them!

I'd come back just for the crew

The hosts were very flexible and accommodating with my goals for the trip. I wanted to do a night kayak trip (third party) and with the house rules I was concerned the timing would conflict how I'd get back to the boat that night. I didn't end up going on that adventure, but I appreciate they were willing to work with me.

Sailboat adventures

Had a fantastic trip on the Ragamuffin Sailboat. Jo and Lauren are great, we miss them already! Between Jo’s amazing cooking and Lauren’s awesome stories we felt right at home. Such a fun experience, we will be back!

Great hosts. Fantastic views. Jo is a terrific cook. Lots of local knowledge. Their sailboat is beautify designed and very cozy. A fantastic place to relax. Their cats, Raga and Muffin willingly share their home too. A swim in the Caribbean is never more than a few steps.

Love our new "Aunt" Jo and "Uncle" Loren!

What a fantastic time we had. I could not have asked for better people to spend time with. Accommodations were great, the time to relax and play was ample, and our CHef Jo was amazing! We have vegans and carnivores, and she always asked and suggested and made it seem like she could cook anything to perfection. Please, even though she will ask and make suggestions for breakfast and dinner, just let her whip up anything she wants because it was always excellent. I am just sad we only did two days. But we will be back!!! I have a 13 and 17-year-old, and they loved the boat and the cats!! It was a unique and wonderfully different adventure, and so happy we picked Jo and Loren to have this adventure with!

For 20 years, my husband and I operated our Classic Sailboat RAGGMUFFIN as a fully Crewed Charter boat in the USVI and BVI, we are now semiretired as a BNB on the water.
We are your live aboard Crew. Captain Loren, cook myself, and entertainment/cruise directors the Cat twins, Ragga and Muffin.

We treat you like you are family. Meals are prepared using fresh fruit and vegetables as much as they are available. Tell us what your favorite foods and beverages are and if at all possible we will have them for you. Our cats are very people friendly and just young enough to provide lots of entertainment. We have lived in these islands for many years and love to share our local knowledge. You never know who will stop by for a cup of coffee, a beer, or who you will meet on the beach. As on long time friend says we are an Ocean Family
Think of us as your crazy old Uncle and Aunt.

All the benefits of a crewed yacht charter except the boat does not go sailing. Travel to and from shore in one of the Yachts Tenders, Breakfast and dinner prepared each day with your tastes in mind using fresh fruits and vegetables as much as possible. Adult drinks from Beer and wine to quality rum and whiskey. Sunset cocktails. Snorkel and swim from the boat, explore in the yachts 2 single kayaks, take a ride to the beach, shopping or catch a ferry to St John. You spend the day playing, we pick you up in time for a Sunset cocktail while we are preparing dinner.
