Kona

The property was beautiful and well kept up. Everything was very handy and the trolley into the downtown was great! I would suggest putting a ceiling fan on the lanai to hep cool during the day but otherwise was amazing!

Great location

Our condo was on the second floor right above the gently breaking waves. Every morning we watched the surfers at Banyan Beach and the outriggers paddling by. The place is a bit dated but clean, so we were quite happy. The managers were very responsive. I recommend it.

Perfect for our family

I’m a single mom with three teen girls. Being able to go on a vacation was a big deal for us! The price was fair and the condo was clean. I loved being able to cook and have somewhere that felt like “home” when we needed to decompress. I hope to come back someday and would definitely want this condo again! Thank you for helping make my family vacation dream a reality!

Nice location and view!

Stayed with my boyfriend and teenage children. Great spot close to all the shopping areas! They have chairs and boogie boards and stuff for the beach in the patio storage, plus 4 beach towels . Great to have 2 bathrooms with teenage girls with us! Washer and dryer worked great! Easy parking underneath the condo.

We love Kona!

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Great location and excellent view! We loved listening to the waves and watch the sunset. The beds and furniture were so comfortable. It was clean and the process easy! The only minor complaint would be to update somethings - such as when a fan gets rusty - replace it. Although I understand the salty humid air. I wish we had more time to spend sitting on the deck or watching the surfers or the turtles. Plenty of room for the 5 of us!

Amazing!

This was our second time to the big island. We had an amazing time at Bali Kai!! The view was absolutely breath taking and the crashing of the ocean waves all day/night never got old 🌊 We had a perfect seat to watch the sunset and turtles feed each evening! The condo is older but was very clean. Towels, handsoap, dishwasher and laundry tabs, paper towels, Kleenex and TP were provided. We found the master bed to be very soft and saggy. Their was an issue with the washer on our 2nd last day and Wayne was very responsive and sent someone over right away! The location is fantastic…it made it easy to commute to our favourite beaches. The condo came equipped with beach chairs, umbrellas, boogies boards and snorkel gear. We would definitely stay here again 🌺

Great location, needs updating

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Great location, clean, but needs updating. Screens to lanai don't slide well and screen was torn on one side of door attached with scotch tape. Floor tiles buckling. Dryer was broken. Would stay at Kona Bali Kai again just not this unit.
Resposta de VrboOwner em 30 de mai. de 2022
When we became aware of the broken screen we responded right away. This was a back to back and the previous guest apparently walked into the screen causing the rip and warped frame. After checking the dryer it required a new bearing kit. We had to order off Island and it took longer than expected for the parts to arrive. They were installed the day of arrival. Owner is aware of the wear & tear as this unit has been booked steadily for the last 3.5 months and is in the process of upgrading and refreshing the unit. We are sorry we were not able to fix the dryer in a more timely fashion. The King bed is brand new as well as the HD TV. The living room furnishings are dated but comfortable. Our guests vacation is very important to us and we take all remarks seriously. Mgmt.

Great location - poor condition

You can't get a better location, that's the up side. We saw sea turtles in tide pools right outside our window every single day, sometimes twice a day! Unfortunately the property isn't maintained well at all. There is black mold in the grout around the bathtub, the couch and sheets were torn and had stains on them, the screen doors didn't open, hot water heater didn't heat enough water for showers, etc. The property manager didn't respond to us when we reached out for help so we were on our own until we tracked down someone else at the management company. It's a pity because this location has so much potential.

Beautiful view Filthy place

Rating Details: The vacation rental was very dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The view and the complex is just lovely. But unit 223 is absolutely filthy. Our feet were black from walking on the tile and carpet. We had to wash all of the dishes before we could use them. We woke up one morning to maggots everywhere. I have rented home all over for over 15 years and this was the worst place I have ever stayed. I will never go back and will never recommend this unit.

KBK 223 is a very busy unit. The carpets have been stained and look dirty. Both the carpets and tile were cleaned thoroughly prior to guest arrival. There were no maggots in the unit. There is a small bug called a net fly that comes out at a certain time each year. They are tiny and harmless albeit irritating. They are easily removed with spray. Not once during this guest stay was I notified of any issues. I would have had someone there within the hour. Not saying anything and then posting a false and eggagerated review serves no one. Respectfully submitted, Mgmt.

LOVE this place!

Rating Details: The property manager was very unhelpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was very unhappy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Of the 3 places we stayed on the Big Island, this was our favorite! Being right by the water was wonderful, and the sound of the surf all night was delightful (OK, a big loud at times during high tide at night, but we loved it). There are a couple of nice LITTLE sandy areas to lie on near the south end of the building, and the community BBQs were clean and functional. We stayed in Unit 223, which provided everything you could want for the beach, including boogie board, surfboard, snorkeling stuff and beach towels! Lots of bath towels, and the breeze blows through the unit nicely, cooling it off on hot afternoons. The sunsets from the balcony were unbeatable!!!In the mornings, we sat on our balcony and watched the spinner dolphins flip and jump, as the dolphin cruises dropped off snorkelers to swim with them --highly recommended!!Be sure to enjoy a great oceanside breakfast at Bongo Ben's!We visited most of the west shore beaches, and our favorite was "69," so named because you turn off at the 69-mile marker north of town. Very quiet, lots of shade, off the beaten path, but you drive right to it.
