Private Beach! Enjoy the sweeping view of Haro Strait with Vancouver Island in the backdrop from the three expansive decks. A great property to watch the whales go by. (Whale Watch Beach Retreat)

This is a great property to watch the abundant wildlife or to launch your personal kayak. With its private beach, spacious grassy yard and media room, you will not run out of activities here.

The living room on the main floor is adjacent to the dining area and kitchen, with very comfortable seating and equally stunning views of Haro Strait and Vancouver Island. (The fireplace in the living room is not for guest use.) The living room is equipped with a Smart TV and DVD player to gather around the cozy armchairs and large couches. Games and books are available as well.

The gourmet kitchen is a chefā€™s paradise. With a fully stocked supply of pots and pans, cutlery and spices, you also get to enjoy the spectacular water view directly from the kitchen.

The downstairs media room has a large flatscreen TV. Apple TV for streaming services is also provided on the flat screen. The media room also has a fold-out couch, full kitchen, and a private bathroom with walk-in shower. Wireless internet is available throughout the house and all of the three levels have outside seating on the deck to enjoy the beautiful sunset here on San Juan Island's Westside.

The primary bedroom encompasses the whole 3rd floor and has its own seating area with an electric fireplace and King-sized bed. The en suite bathroom is open to the bedroom so you can still enjoy the expansive view.

The other two bedrooms are located on the main floor on either side of the entry hallway and share a full bathroom, also located in that hallway. Both main floor bedrooms are equipped with a Queen bed, and one of the bedrooms also has a cozy daybed.

Enjoy morning coffee on one of the three decks, or take the stairs down to the beach to relax against a log while watching the sun set each evening.
This very comfortable home is the perfect place to enjoy the views on the westside of San Juan Island!

Professional landscaping service occurs at this property every Wednesday.

Fire pits are not usable from May 1st-September 30th due to the county burn ban and safety of property and neighboring areas. Ban is usually lifted October 1st if/when conditions and weather are favorable. Firewood not provided.

This house has Air Conditioning.

Pets are not allowed at this property.

Gorgeous views!

We had a lovely stay. The home was so comfortable, and a perfect layout for our family - we have two kids in the downstairs bedrooms and the upstairs bedroom was a fantastic retreat for us! The bed up there was so comfortable, I usually don't notice that one way or another, but it really stood out. The hot tub had an amazing view and was easy to use and access right from the main level. The private beach was a treat, the kids loved throwing rocks in the water and exploring. Great yard too, lots of room to play both inside and outside. Top notch place!

Unbelievable spot

Absolutely loved our stay. I watched bald eagles every morning at sunrise, seals everyday at low tide, otters at play multiple times a day and even a pod of orcas once- all from the deck. Easy drive to restaurants and parks. The house has everything you need and was clean, comfortable and well stocked. We will be back

Peaceful stay in perfect location

First visit to SJI, purposefully to see orcas - as part of my parents 50th anniversary trip. We saw orcas every day for the 4 days, twice off the deck here! Plenty of space for all to get comfortable. Kitchen worked well for us cooking most meals at home. So quiet comfortable and clean. I would recommend a stay here. My only critique is we didnā€™t find the beds to be to our liking, weā€™re used to a softer mattress.

PNW Island Paradise!

We are an active group of 5 who booked this house to celebrate a friend's 40th birthday. It did not disappoint! Plenty of space for everyone and then some. The view was fantastic and we enjoyed having the private beach. The house location was a quick drive to Roche Harbor as well as Friday Harbor. We found it to be conveniently located. We would definitely recommend this house to others.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was our second time staying at Whale Watch. The home is spacious and comfortable. It easily accommodated our group of 8 ranging from 3 years old to grandparents. By far the best feature of this home is its location on Haro Strait. The views are incredible. Everyone loved exploring the rocky beach front. We enjoyed watching river otters, seals, sea lions, harlequin ducks, and various other birds. The highlight was getting to watch J and K pods of southern resident orcas travel by for over an hour and a half. We have been fortunate to see orcas directly from the house both times weā€™ve stayed!!! Highly recommend this vacation rental!
