This super family friendly Heron Marsh unit is located in private gated community of Litchfield by the Sea and is nothing short of amazing! Located just a few steps to the beach, the unit features two bedrooms and two full bathrooms, a washer/dryer, spacious sundeck, wifi, cable, a fully stocked kitchen with granite counter tops, a flat screen TV in the living room, covered parking, and so much more. Guests have use of the Heron Marsh community pool with lots of area for sun bathing, as well as walking paths, tennis and pickleball courts, fishing areas, and of course miles of pristine beach. Litchfield By the Sea also features a Starbucks on site, community dining and spa, and full time 24 security.

Winter retreat

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We return every year with TIDELIFE , and from their many accommodations, we've settled on one that has a nice mix, like walking access to the beach, and other gated community amenities. Besides enjoying the warmer weather, we are closer to our kids and the grandkids enjoyed time at the beach... ps. TIDELIFE also offers other perks like passes to the state park !

Thank you for your review. Guests are given a map, the address as well as gate passes for the community. We don’t recall a phone call from you or your guests to report a wifi issue. Certainly if we had been contacted it would have been addressed immediately. We also did have a major thunder and lightning storm during your stay which did impact wifi in our area. Wifi has been checked and is working without issue.

Perfect condo for a beach trip!

Had the best beach week!! This condo was in a great location. Walking distance to the beach and in a great community! Condo was clean and had just about everything we needed. Certain aspects could have use some updating, but overall great condo!

Beach trip

Overall great place to stay. The bed in the master bedroom was very bad. I could have slept as good in the driveway with a pillow and blanket.

Wow! It sure would have been nice if you would have contacted our office in regards to the bed and given us a chance to make you happy. Unfortunately the Goldilocks syndrome is a tough one. Some folks like beds hard and some folks like it soft but had you Let us know you were unhappy we would have done everything we could to make you smile. Thank you and have a great summer

Comfort at the beach

The Herron Marsh units are comfortable and modern, with a 5-minute walk to the beach. Great restaurants are only minutes away. The Litchfield resort is a great concept. Downside: there is often noise from heavy equipment right outside your unit (tree trimming, lawn mowing, etc.) starting as early as 8 a.m. We realize this is necessary work but if you like to sleep in, you'll have to deal with it. Also, these are quad-plexes so chances are you'll have someone on either side, and they could be noisy.

I think the layout of the property was really good. The space was perfect for us and our needs. The property was in a good location with easy in and out. The negatives for us were the following:Was not "just steps" away from the pool, was too far to walk, the distance to beach was fine.The furnishings and flooring in the unit were very worn and not clean. Due for updating. The utensils and some of the dishes were not clean. I had to run all through a dishwasher cycle before using them.

Poorly maintained with issues

Nice location, but property was old, dirty, and poorly maintained. Some dishes were dirty, shower didn’t drain well, beds were uncomfortable, and internet/cable tv didn’t work.

Thank you for your review. This property goes through a complete deep clean each year and we work hard to address any guest concerns. We did everything we could to get the internet up and running but we had a bad storm and lightening did knock out service in many areas and Spectrum did come out during your stay and restore the service which you failed to mention. You did not mention that we gave you a $300 refund for the issues and you demanded more. Just saying that sometimes it is nice to get the full story of what really occurred. Hope you have a great rest of the summer.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our family has stayed at Litchfield by the Sea and Heron Marsh Villas for many years, but this is the first time in this unit. As noted in previous reviews, there are several things in the condo that can do with an update - unworkable shower doors, water stained ceiling, older appliances, etc.The location is great and the overall resort is great, but this unit could use a makeover.

The kitchen light panel was broken., the air conditioning did not work upstairs in the bedroom, the upstairs tub had a large chip in the porcelain and the floor near the tub was in bad condition. Wasn't expecting the property to have minor issues for the amount of money to rent. As long as you are okay with that, I would recommend it to anyone looking for convenient location to the beach.

Reviewer Comments: We rented Heron Marsh 86 by accident because we had originally scheduled a different property, but the owner sold it, so our agency moved us to this unit. It was very clean and homey. And a bonus was that we were very close to a bunch of family staying in Captains Quarters across the road from Heron Marsh. Overall, the community is quiet and feels safe. The bike trails were so fun, and the kids loved being free to bike all over. I appreciated the shade under the deck for those sunny, hot days when we wanted to be outside. The beach was a short walk through the Captain's Quarters buildings. The only complaint was the beds were ultra firm, which I find uncomfortable, but to each their own in that department. I recommend this property to anyone who likes a peaceful beach vacation with bike trails, tennis, and pool access. One recommendation for renters is to bring containers for food as there weren't any to store leftovers. Happy vacationing!

Ocean hideaway
