First visit to South Padre

Good location, nice neighborhood and spacious accommodations.Unfortunately, needs some minor maintenance and the carpet is very dirty, which is the first thing you see when you get in.

Relaxing stay!

We really enjoyed having a beautiful private pool/spa. The beds were comfortable. The host responded quickly to questions. The Whale House had plenty of space for 8 adults/1 toddler.

Great vacation home

Property worked great for our multi-family vacation. Plenty of room and separate game space for teens. Pool and hottub was just what we wanted. Lots of local food choices close by.

A whale of a time at The Whale house

Great location and amenities. Was perfect for meeting the guide at Jim's Pier, shopping IGA and HEB and SPICG was within 20 minutes. Plenty of room for 4 of us seniors.

Better than in pictures

Our family had a wonderful time at this unexpecting home. The decore is a little off other than that, the space was clean, spacious and well worth the stay. There were plenty of bedrooms that had very comfortable beds. There were also plenty of bathrooms, although the hallway bathroom shower did not have much water pressure as the others. What I loved most about this home were the 2 kitchens. It was so helpful when preparing a meal for a big family. Overall, we had a wonderful time, thank you for the opportunity to stay at your home.

Great location, great owners

The home is located less than a mile from all of the main bars/restaurants. We rented golf carts to get around for the weekend and it was perfect. Had a couple small issues but the hosts were very responsive if needed and offered to help any way they could. Would stay again

Great bayside home

This is a very pretty home with beautiful decorating. The pool was fabulous with a shade sail over it. (That was perfect for those very hot, humid days.) A 10 min. walk to the beach. Two kitchens were nice,. But didn't have enough big pots to cook seasi or life for the pots and plans.

Whale House

This was the perfect place for our family to stay over Christmas. We used the pool and hot tub almost daily and we did a lot of cooking. We had great space with the two kitchens, but there was room for all of us to eat together upstairs. Nichole was very responsive to any questions or issues that we had. Overall, we had a great time there!

Relaxing Family Getaway

We had an absolutely wonderful vacation. We had plenty of room for our large family. We enjoyed the beach the most, secondly was the pool and hot tub. They have everything you need to enjoy a full day at the beach, a large heavy duty shade tent, umbrellas, a couple smaller pop up tents, some chairs, lots of toys and a cooler. I had a couple questions during the stay and she responded very quick. I would recommend this house. We had a whale of a time.

Honest Review!!

Please be aware of this property! Immediately after walking in the house, you were hit with a strong mold smell . The smell was in the upstairs living area. We found that all the upstairs vents had what looked like mold around them. We took pictures and sent it to the owners. They told us it was AC condensation and sent cleaners out in the middle of us cooking dinner. The house immediately smelled like strong bleach. Once the cleaning products wore off, the mold smell returned. I reached out again to the owners and no response. We paid so much money and drove 8 hours for my daughters cheer competition just to have our weekend stay ruined. 4 people in our party are sick. We had a party of 9 people. The only positive was the outdoor pool area and we stayed outside most of the time because it was horrible. We couldn’t believe that someone who was asking for a review not want to make this right. Anyways, this is an honest review from an honest loving family!

Beautiful Clean Home in Nice Location

We had a good stay overall! House was clean. Pool was clean and clear when we arrived. There were some issues with the temperature on pool and spa and the main door digital lock but host was very responsive and corrected it timely. Satisfied with response time for issues. Location was great 5-10 (3 blocks) walk to beach. Nice neighborhood with a park for the kids about a block away which was nice for us traveling with 3 toddlers. There were beach toys, umbrellas, tents, wagons for us to use which was amazing! I don’t think it says that anywhere in the description so adding here in case people are wondering. Overall nice clean place, good location and would definitely stay again.

Exceeded expectations!

We booked this home for our family vacation not only was it extremely clean and spacious but it was in close proximity to the beach and just blocks away from restaurants and fast food. The owners were nice and responded promptly to our requests. They left the pool lights on longer so that we could enjoy the outdoors into the night. They even had extra pool towels and beach chairs/umbrellas for the guest to use! The pool is just beautiful and so comfortable. The children was in it early morning and late at night. I would highly recommend this home and would definitely book again if we’re ever in South Padre Island. Thanks to the owners for your hospitality and for sharing your beautiful vacation home with our family. Thanks again, Alexandria, Louisiana

Our family loved our stay at the Whale House

This was our first time ever renting a home and we loved it. This house is very spacious and has an amazing pool and hot tub. We had another family rent a house close by, they didn't have a pool, so they joined us on our first day there. A gas grill is provided for some burgers and hot dogs. This house had the basic kitchen tools one can cook. It also had towels but not enough for the max of people it can stay and did have like 4 beach towels we can also use. Over all the only 2 things not so good were that the upstairs shower didn't have very much pressure, it would take us longer to shower, and found hairs on some towels, which we took our own for back up. Aside from that we would definitely stay here again.

Loved the Whale House!!

We stayed at the Whale House in February, and it was just as described. We had 5 couples traveling to South Padre for the first time to celebrate my husband's birthday. The house was absolutely perfect and had more than enough space for us. The backyard was beautiful, and we used the hot tub every day. The house was stocked well with towels, dishes, and a few paper products. There we many extra touches, like board games, toys for kids and a wonderful game room in the garage. The house is about a 10 minute walk to the ocean. The neighborhood felt very safe and is located within walking distances to restaurants, stores, etc. We walked most places, but island also has a free island bus which we also used to get around. It was a fantastic location and we look forward to going back to SPI and will definitely stay at the Whale House again.

the house provided all the space needed for multi family vacation; extra household appliances in kitchen that were helpful host provided plenty of dish tabs and trash bags house several beach accessories available for use (umbrella wagon) that was not expected so we had brought our own. Pool and hot tub were well maintained. there were some plates that were dirty from previous renters we washed, and a few updates needed. Upon arrival there were not enough towels to shower for our group, but owner responded and sent housekeeping over the next morning with more. Overall a good experience
