Location: Prominence is located just east of Seagrove and west of Watersound and Eastern Lake. Seaside and Rosemary are a short car ride away in either direction.

Beach Access: ALL Prominence homes are via South Walton public beach access points. Most Prominence guests utilize Deer Lake State Park beach access or other nearby public beach accesses. Prominence homes do not have direct beach access via Watersound Club nor do they have access to Watersound private club facilities.

NEARBY BEACH ACCESS
-Deer Lake State Park (0.6 miles west of Prominence) is the nearest beach access. This park has great amenities including: restrooms, parking for golf carts/bikes/cars, and a beautiful walk along a boardwalk that winds through the natural dunes leading to the beach. The State Park charges a “Day Use Fee” of $3/car or $2/bikes or pedestrians for access and parking. Alcohol is not allowed as it is a State Park. It is a bit of a longer walk from parking area to the beach, but it's a beautiful scenic walk on the long boardwalk with white sand dunes. The State Park Beach is less crowded than any public beach access points.

- Walton Dunes Beach Access (1.5 miles West of Prominence) has a small parking lot, but no bathrooms, and is located just west of the Deer Lake State Park boundary. This access has no steps-just walk straight onto the beach. One of our personal favorites!

-Gulf Lakes Estates is a South Walton County beach access (1 mile east of Prominence). Small access that can be easily missed. Parking not available but easy bike ride to the beach.

-Santa Clara is a public beach access located at Bramble Grove Place (about 3.5 miles). This access provides a lifeguard, parking and bathrooms as well as ADA access to the beach.

* Pool heated seasonally is subject to change at any time by the HOA for the community. 30A Rental Properties is not responsible for any change in seasonal heating of the one pool in Prominence. No refunds for any change to pool heated seasonally.

It shall be unlawful and a violation of the section for a person to make, cause or permit if within his or her control the making or causing of any noise disturbance between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. that is plainly audible from within an occupied residence not the residence of the person making, causing or permitting the making or causing of the noise disturbance.

SUGGESTED ITEMS TO BRING: Beach towels, beach chairs, tanning lotion, camera, radio/ipod, paper towels, toilet paper, trash bags, dishwasher detergent, laundry soap, bath soap, bicycles, rafts, coffee filters, antiseptic, flashlights, umbrellas, and fishing gear.

Overall a good stay

Overall, we had a good stay. The check in and check out process was easy, and the property was very clean and spacious. I believe the online listing indicated kid friendly dishes were available, which they were not. Otherwise, we had everything we needed to cook and eat. We also had more than enough towels. Our kids loved the pool, and the beach access (Deer Lake State Park) was easily reached by golf cart. It is kind of hike from the place you park though to the actual beach, and I think others who rent should be aware of that and that there is no beach access through Watersound. My main complaint is that the dishwasher broke on our first day and was never repaired or replaced during our stay, and we were not offered any compensation over than to pay for paper plates, which didn’t really solve the problem. I understand there was nothing the property manager could do because they weren’t authorized, but I’d encourage the owner to reconsider that as a goodwill gesture: Also, there are no extra blankets if you run cold, so bring your own.
