Maison Palissy has a character filled spacious double bedroom with queen size bed, en-suite shower room with egyptian cotton linen and towels provided. Double doors lead to covered terrace with seating area looking out over the pretty church of Notre Dame, perfect for morning coffee. There are exposed stone walls and beams and brocante finds decorating the shelves, there is also little library of holiday reads for your use! A well equipped kitchen opens on to the living area with pellet stove which makes for a lovely cosy ambiance in the cooler months and thick stone walls keep it cool in summer. This is a light and airy room with dining area and double doors giving direct access on to the main large private terrace, a perfect place for alfresco dining and a beautiful part of the garden for guests sole use. There is a large garden beyond of 1 hectare which affords stunning views of the Chateau, and surrounding countryside with lovely shaded seating areas, a brand new salt water pool , wild flower meadow and many fruit trees. Maison Palissy is situated in the beautiful historia village of Biron in a quiet picturesque area below the Chateau .The impressive stone house is steeped in history, built in the C15th and reputated to have been part of a convent or infirmerie and then in the C16th the home of the celebrated French ceramicist Bernard Palissy. It is In a rural location with lovely views of the Chateau and surrounding countryside but is only a short drive away from the ÂŽPlus Beau Villagesâ of Monpazier, VillerĂ©al and Monflonquin all Bastide towns with their wonderful weekly markets, restaurants and pavement cafes. With easy access for visiting both the Dordogne and Lot Valleys and all the historic villages, chateaux, vineyards and outdoor activities these two beautiful regions of France have to offer. The village of Biron has an attractive restaurant, Auberge du ChĂąteau, a cafe and a shop which sells all basic necessities, a tourist information office and a lovely little farmers market on Thursdays in summer. The monumental chateau which can be seen from miles around is owned by the state and open to the public. It can be visited all year round and hosts art exhibitions and musical events.
