Quiet and lovely

Tons of room for everyone. Could make our own lobster, so yes the kitchen is fully stocked. The basement is great for a raining day. Steph was easy to communicate with.

Excellent place to stay

This was on of the best VRBO rentals we ever used. House was conveniently located on 20 acres of great forest, very quiet, close to Acadia park and many local attractions. For 6 adults it was just perfect, 3 large bedrooms, very clean, kitchen had everything we needed ( I mean everything! - special thank you!). Very comfortable beds! Basement with many activities! After long hikes in Acadia it was very nice to cook home dinner and enjoy a cup of tea on the deck and a good movie with friends. Stephanie is great host, she responded to all my questions, right away, and we did follow many of her recommendations with great success. So, we had a dream vacation mostly because of this great property and Stephanie.

Home Away From Home

We thoroughly enjoyed our week long stay at True North! The house is just lovely and had everything we needed! The kitchen was well equipped, the beds were comfy and there was so much there to do that we could have just stayed in all week! There were so many toys and games for the kids and the adults. We really enjoyed the air hockey, pool and ping pong tables! We also enjoyed the fire pit and short nature trail in the backyard. In addition to the house being just perfect, Stephanie was an incredible host! She was so kind and helpful from sharing tips on things to do/see in the area to leaving a little welcome gift for us upon arrival. She, by far, is the best host we have ever had! Thank you Stephanie and family for sharing True North with us! We had a WONDERFUL stay!

Great Property

True North was the perfect location for us to explore all parts of MDI! The property was well stocked and had plenty of room for the seven of us. The property manager was very easy to communicate with and very responsive. We would definitely stay again if we came back to the area!

Our stay at True North was wonderful! Everything we needed was available and home was very clean, well stocked, and extras provided. This included firewood for campfire, snacks, and all kinds of games. Communication with Stephanie was prompt and easy. Wonderful private setting and very peaceful! Amazing house with quiet atmosphere

Our family spent a week in Maine and we LOVED the house. With the house being set back off the road and in a quiet area it was exactly what we were looking for, but it was also close enough to all activities in Acadia that we weren't spending our whole vacation drivig. The house was especially well furnished and supllied with all the little things like garbage bags, toilet paper, Ziploc bags, camp chairs, fire wood etc that just makes it nice to not have to worry about it. Stephanie was also a great host providing a welcome gift (we love SMORES) and a packet of information including tips for Acadia and the surrounding areas as well as places to eat. It was and amazing property for our vacation and I would highly recommend to anyone!

Loved True North

Loved True North, everything was charming, clean, and well stocked. Played a few games of pool in the game room and used the grill to boil lobsters from the co op. The home is also back in the woods off the main road a bit which isn't obvious from the pictures, and the extra privacy was a nice surprise.

Great place in the woods

This home was nestled into the woods away from the road and anybody else. Very quiet and picturesque. The house was very clean and spacious. The game room was fun and well maintained. The host also provided all sorts of amenities including everything to have a fire in the fire ring. I would highly recommend staying here. Only downside is almost everything on the island is at least 20 minutes away.

Peaceful & Perfect

People often indicate that their rentals have everything you will need, but we always know that cannot be true. At True North, it was as if we were staying with family, in the sense that all of our needs were anticipated with loving thoughtfulness. Sunscreen and aloe (thankfully we didn't need the latter because we took advantage of the former!), band aids and first aid kit, flashlights, binoculars, puzzles, games, wood for the fire pit, gas grill, tons of cozy towels, a nice variety of spices, and very thoughtful welcome gifts. This is on top of the fact that the well-situated property is on 20+ acres of quiet, wooded land with an unbelievable starry sky above. It is walking distance to a Nature Conservancy preserve and beachfront, and about 10-15 minutes from everything else. We just loved our stay here. We had the misfortune of getting locked out on our first night and I messaged Stephanie through the VRBO app at 9:45pm and she wrote me right back and was there with a key less than 5 minutes later. She is so kind and lovely. I recommend this property absolutely and cannot wait to return myself.

True North

True North is a special place for our family. We loved making memories in the house and around the property on the 20 acres. There are trails a few minutes down the road that are also peaceful. This is the closest we stayed to a NP so it made it so much more convenient to us since we planned our trip around that alone. Bar harbor and surrounding towns were also nice in proximity to the house which made it easier for short drives for exploring. The details in the listing were right onpoint with what we experienced during our stay. Our kids loved the game room and all the toys made them feel right at home. We cant wait to visit again in the near future. Thank you again Stephanie and family for sharing your home with us.

Thoughtful Accommodations and Peaceful Setting

We loved our recent stay at True North. Stephanie and her family have provided a truly wonderful home to relax in with family and/or friends. Our group included the full age range from children to mature adults. We all had fun playing the games in the basement, cooking meals together in the well-appointed kitchen, and relaxing in the several living spaces after a long day of hiking. The home is convenient to all points on and off the island. Stephanie has provided pretty much everything you could need to truly enjoy your vacation. Just bring your own shower supplies and food, and she has provided the rest. We would have loved to stay longer and will definitely be recommending the home to others.

Lovely Place

It was great staying at True North. It's clean, spacious, and comfortable. (It feels like you are staying at your home instead of a vacation rental.) It is in a quiet, woodsy area with a nice backyard, away from the bustle of tourists. Stephanie is nice, helpful, and accessible. If my family and I are able to visit MDI again, we would be happy to stay at True North.

Best House EVER!

Stephanie’s property was amazing! We needed a week of rest and relaxation and that is exactly what we got. The property is exactly as described. The game room was amazing and my husband and I had a blast playing the games when our toddler when to sleep. The house felt like home and had everything we could have asked for on our trip to Maine and Acadia NP. The backyard was serene and we found one of our favorite hikes just down the road. For me, the appliances were also a huge selling point. Everything was state of the art! Beds were extremely comfortable and there were plenty of blankets and pillows in every room. Stephanie also left treats for our little one and some for the adults. She was easy to contact and we could not have asked for a better trip! We will definitely be back!

Wonderful stay in Maine

The property was wonderful -- roomy, surrounded by woods, convenient to anything you wanted to do on the island. We took hikes on both sides of the island with some satisfying vertical stretches and great views. Great lobster was available on the quiet side. It was always pleasant to return to our special secluded home at the end of an active day.

Everything we Needed

We loved our stay at True North! When we arrived we notice right away how clean everything was. Also, the house has everything you need for your stay from paper towels to beach towels. I really appreciated not having to pack those extra things. Our boys LOVED the basement. Instead of being on their devices between hikes and different adventures, they were playing pool or ping pong together! We all agreed it was a fantastic house.

Wonderful Bar Harbor Location

We had a wonderful stay. Very peaceful and beautiful setting. The house was well stocked and the owner was a joy to work with. Everyone enjoyed the basement playroom with the pool table, air hockey, and ping pong table. She even left all the fixings for S'mores for the kids. I would definitely recommend this location.

We travel frequently and rent weekly rentals so I understand what people need and want in a rental home.

True North is within walking distance to a beautiful preserve providing hiking trails, picnic area, and beaches to explore the Maine coast and more.
