Vi inbjuder dig att njuta av Uptowns gyllene triangel, en enklav av viktoriansk arkitektur, allmänt erkänd som New Orleans mest gångbara bostadsområde. Vårt hem ser ut på en särskilt härlig gata, med en block-lång kapell av mogna levande ekar. Du kan gå 2 kvarter till Magazine Street-butikerna, 4 kvarter till Octavia Books, 5 kvarter till Prytania-biografen, 8 kvarter till St. Charles Avenue spårvagn och 9 kvarter till Audubon Park.

Ta en enkel promenad från vår ytterdörr till flera av stadens mest hyllade restauranger, plus ett urval av utmärkta lokala kaféer, bagerier och små restauranger i närheten. När du föredrar att laga mat hemma på det duell-bränsle pro sortimentet i vårt nyrenoverade kök, kan du samla prov från Whole Foods och Hoppers Carte des Vins (3 kvarter vardera) eller från Langensteins marknad (5 kvarter), en annan lokal matfavorit .

Före och efter middagen erbjuder våra verandor fantastiska cocktailinställningar som uppmuntrar kvällssamtal med de många hundpromenaderna i närheten. Lovely hosts, lovely home!

This property is in a wonderful location and has everything you need to make your stay perfect. The hosts are very welcoming and have gone above and beyond to make sure you are comfortable in their home. The house is beyond charming - very spacious and well appointed, with a fabulous bright kitchen and a fantastic front porch. It's an easy walk to shops and dining on Magazine St and an easy walk in the opposite direction for the streetcar on St Charles. It was a bonus to have a driveway, especially during Mardi Gras when street parking is busy. We enjoyed our stay so much and would definitely stay here again - it felt like home!

Tremendous Stay in a Beautiful Historic Home

We just finished our stay at Denise & Clark's house during Jazz Fest. They are gracious hosts and we were honored that we could stay in their beautiful house. They were always available if we needed them but respected our privacy when we did not. This is a beautiful and historic home that oozes character and charm. It is not a perfect house and that just adds to the charm. Sure, the hardwood floors squeak here and there, the windows don't all open (more on that below) but, again, charm and character. Denise and Clark welcomed us to their home with a brief tour and a bottle of wine along with instructions on this and that - quirks about appliances, etc. And they left detailed instructions about trash/recycling, how to use the coffee maker - pretty much everything we needed. Part way through our stay the AC stopped working. Fortunately the weather in NO was quite pleasant that day. I notified Denise and they came right over as soon as they had made contact with their HVAC guy. We did have to go one night without AC but I was able to get a few windows opened and even discovered that an old AC window unit worked great. By the way, the upstairs bedroom has a separate mini-split so that was not an issue. By the time we returned from the Fest the next day, all was good. I highly recommend staying in this lovely Uptown/Audubon charming, historic home if you ever get the chance - If for nothing else than a chance to sit on the wonderful front porch with a glass of wine and a chat with the neighbors.

We loved it and will come back, our stay here literally felt like home!!

Denise and Clark were very kind and welcoming!! We even met some of the neighbors who invited us to a Mardi Gras party. This is a great location in a great community, for any event. We went for Mardi Gras but would also stay here for Jazz Fest or a Saints game. We were able to walk almost everywhere and even amongst the chaos of the Mardi Gras crowds found that Uber and Lyft were readily available for further out destinations. I would highly recommend this stay to anyone looking to enjoy New Orleans from a safe and quiet neighborhood, in a great location, and with locals that will kindly welcome you in!!

Excellent experience: lovely home in attractive & safe neighborhood; great sitting porch!

Chalk this up to a SPECTACULAR success of the VRBO model! We came to New Orleans for a medical conference, among other things to teach a full-day course to other physicians. As mature women, professional colleagues, collaborators and friends, we prefer to get away from the frenetic environment of the conference and stay in a quieter and calmer home-like environment. What a pleasure this home turned out to be! It is in a lovely residential neighborhood. Our host, Denise, couldn't have been more accommodating, asking us what we wanted to do in New Orleans, and then orienting us thoroughly. She encouraged us to feel and behave as though we were in our own home! For example, we said we might want to have a couple of friends over for dinner, along with the keynote speaker at the conference. She sent us a list of places to buy food and laid out the table linens for us. Upon arrival, someone was right there there to welcome us and point out keys, switches, thermostats, etc. In addition, we found little signs strategically placed in various places to point out this or that. There are two good size bedrooms, one upstairs, one down, each with its own bath. The decor is an attractive blend of Victorian, Craftsman and early 20th century. The kitchen, in particular, is a beautiful combination of butter yellow tile, white walls and cabinets -- and many windows which fill it with light. The sitting porch is very welcoming in the early evening quiet. We sat in Adirondack chairs, did some last minute planning for our course, nibbling on hors d'oeuvres, and sipping a glass of wine. The house is just a few blocks away from a Whole Foods, local restaurants and a drug store -- an easy walk. We used Lyft or Uber to go to and from Hilton Riverside, for about $12 a ride. We were good tenants and left the place in good shape, so no problem at all with the deposit refund. Very pleasurable overall, and a flat out success of a VRBO rental, I'd say.

Nice Simple and Clean Space

Brad’s Shotgun space was perfect! I was in town catering a last minute wedding for a friend and this space was exactly what I needed it to be, somewhere close but not too close to all the night life and quiet after a long day. The area was nice and super quiet but still a quick 5 minute drive to the French Quarter and Bourbon. Brad was awesome! We had no issues but he just a quick call away and his sister lives next door so she was also available for any possible issues. Thanks again for letting me use your space Brad.

My husband and I moved to New Orleans three years ago, retirees in search of an adventure. We abandoned our tranquil, bucolic life in Vermont because we love the excitement and diversity of New Orleans and we want to be part of a city with a unique culture. I grew up in California, then moved to Philadelphia after college and eventually met my husband in Massachusetts. Together we have moved around the northeast, but now find ourselves in New Orleans!

Varför värden valde detta boende

When we bought this home, we loved its location: walking distance to almost everything we care about, including our favorite markets, our favorite cinema, our beloved library, and don't forget Audubon Park. We also love the idea of owning a home with a strong New Orleans look and feel. What we didn't love, we knew we could renovate. Now, three years later, those renovations are done, the gardens are coming along, and we love this home!

Visitors to our home always love the porch life, sitting outside with a glass of wine and chatting with the passing dog-walkers. Inside, the rooms sparkle with natural light, which highlights the gorgeous woodwork (especially the 3 fireplace mantles) and high ceilings. Our renovated kitchen is a show-stopper, drenched in sunlight, outfitted for serious cooking, with lots of features to remind you of the 1930s and 1940s.
