Captain's Cabin erbjuder en speciell unik upplevelse omgiven av historia och lyx samtidigt. Du kommer att njuta av ditt eget kompletta kök, fullt utrustat och fyllt med kryddor och förnödenheter. Badet har kÀrleksfullt renoverats samtidigt som klofotfoten har kvar. Njut av en lÄng tid med handgjorda scrubs och tvÄlar. Det finns ingen dusch! Du Àr omgiven av komfort frÄn de ultra mjuka lakan, lyxiga klÀder och sovnummer-sÀngen till den varma gourmet-frukosten som levereras till din dörr varje helg morgon. (Vi lovar att du inte kommer att bli hungrig!) Smutta vin vid spisen, lÀs pÄ baksidan av verandan svÀnger eller njut av djurlivet som besöker sjön frÄn verandan. Bara 17 minuter frÄn centrala Louisville Àr du omgiven av 8 tunnland skog och vilda djur. Ta en promenad lÀngs sjön, vandra genom skogen och upptÀcka vattenfallet. Ta en kanotur, fiska eller vada i den slÀta kalkstenbÀcken. VÀrm upp vid eldstaden och stek marshmallows eller anvÀnd grillen för att göra din favoritmiddag. Very nice. Loved staying in the old fashioned cabin. Always wanted to do this at Christmas time and wake up to a fire. Maybe another time. We would notice something new in the cabin every time we looked around. Host was great. Worked with us to switch days of cooked breakfast which was great. Variety of breakfast food during the week. Tammy makes a great derby pie. Nice quiet area. Close to restaurants and parks.

Very charming cabin and decorated authentically. We were very comfortable and also treated to an afternoon snack upon arrival as well as tasty breakfast items for each day. We enjoyed a walk down the road by the stream, but unable to canoe in the lake. Our host and hostess were very nice and friendly and very accommodating. Delightful experience. We enjoyed a visit to Bernheim Forest and rode the Bluegrass rail bike in Versailles.

Loved it!

Such a cool and relaxing place to spend a few days! We don't like to overschedule our getaways so having a clean, cozy and interesting place to stay is always a priority so that we can simply relax! This was perfect for us. Close enough to bourbon tours and delightful hosts. Highly recommend!

Cozy cabin in the woods

This was the perfect place for a fall getaway. It was peaceful and felt isolated, even though everything you need or want was a short drive. The cabin is spectacular and the hosts are outstanding. I hope we can return!

Cozy Rustic Cabin

We had a lovely stay at this cabin in the woods! The details inside were so perfect! The hosts were lovely. It was so quiet and peaceful and we wished we had been able to stay longer to explore the property more. We will definitely try to go back!

Such a neat old cabin! It was beautifully decorated with all of the amenities you’d need today. There is a microwave in the pantry closet which I didn’t find until day 2 so that made things much easier. Breakfast was wonderful and all of the local recommendations were greatly appreciated!

A Night Away

Memorable Weekend Getaway

My partner and I are super big history buffs and wanted to get away from it all so we decided to have a weekend trip up to a cabin. This cabin had everything we were looking for - an original logframe cabin with modern amenities, a giant fireplace and clawfoot bathtub, surrounded by nature, and only 15 minutes from home! Tammy's cooking was wonderful and it was so fun to pick Jan's brain about history and his historical reenactments and both were wonderful hosts. The cabin is full of beautiful architecture and decor, and feels very rustic while still being modern and feels like you are out in the woods despite being in the middle of a large city. We already have friends who are asking about it to visit after seeing photos from our trip! :)

Unbelievably relaxing

The pictures on VRBO which are beautiful don’t even do this place justice. It is spotless it is authentic it is perfect for a get a way. I strongly recommend the cabin. The owners are incredible and to top it all off it’s a bed and breakfast! If there was a way to give more than 5 stars we would. We will be coming back

23rd Anniversary

Had a great weekend at Captain's cabin. we immediately started a fire in the fireplace and enjoyed the quiet popping and warmth of the fire all weekend. Tammy's breakfasts are outstanding. Found some fun things to do in town when we finally pealed ourselves from the cabin.

Captain's Cabin

The cabin was gorgeous with lots of amazing antiques and memorabilia. The hosts were sweet and doting, leaving us lots of treats and things. They do live RIGHT next door, almost on top of the cabin, which could be a negative if you are wanting more privacy or a more remote location. We loved having a fireplace we could actually use (many places don't let you build a fire). So relaxing! Having a Sleep Number bed was a huge plus. All in all, it was homey and comfortable. We enjoyed the beauty of the lake, creek, and fall foliage. of little treats and things.

We love hosting people from all over the world in our Captain's Cabin Bed & Breakfast. We opened Captain's Annex in our home for Derby and special events. My husband, Jan, is a licensed architect specializing in log and timberframe homes and distributor for Hearthstone Homes. When we found this property featuring TWO log cabin homes, we had to live here. I, Tammy, am a marketing consultant for healthcare companies and home sharing hosts. I love to cook and spoil my guests with gourmet breakfasts and lots of goodies. We are history buffs, especially the Lewis & Clark period. The cabins are full of artifacts and historic replicas from Jan's 2004-2006 bicentennial trip to the Pacific Ocean in a keelboat to commemorate the Lewis & Clark journey of 1804-1806.

This property has a peace and tranquility that is hard to find. Wildlife abounds. The front porch provides a great view of the lake. The creek is just a few steps away where you can go wading of explore the waterfall.
