South River Cottage, som ligger i South River Valley vid foten av Blue Ridge Mountains, ligger mellan Charlottesville och Harrisonburg, VA. Stugan har nyligen renoverats, renoverats och utvidgats för att rymma även de mest kritiska gästerna.
Den nyligen tillagda solen verandan har en cabriolet soffa med en utdragbar queen size-säng och fantastisk utsikt över bergen från alla fönster.
Stugens östra vinge har sovrummet med king size-säng och stor garderob, gäst sovrummet med queen size-säng och stor garderob och ett tredje sovrum med våningssängar.
Det utökade köket har en frukostbar, ö- och granitbänk, gasspis, mikrovågsugn, brödrost, Keurig, diskmaskin och fransk dörrkylskåp över fryslådan och en staplad tvättmaskin och torktumlare i köksskåpet. Köket öppnar in i familjerummet där en stor sektionssoffa; 42 "plattskärms-TV med tillgängliga streamingtjänster finns.
Den halvformella matsalen har sex platser; med utsikt över bergen och är ansluten till det stora rummet där det finns en cabriolet soffa: queen size-vikning, en bärbar datorvänlig arbetsyta med plats för en dator, bekväma stolar att koppla av i och en 42 "plattskärms-TV med online-streaming tjänster tillgängliga.
Vädret tillåter; ett uteplatsområde med dämpade möbler ligger på västra sidan av stugan och erbjuder otrolig utsikt över kvällens solnedgångar.

Good cabin stay

Peaceful weekend

The property is exactly as advertised. We found it to be clean, quiet and well stocked. We enjoyed visiting some wineries during the day and a quiet evening at the cottage at night. We would definitely stay here again.

Wedding Weekend in South River Cottage

The cottage is sprawling with 3 spacious sitting areas, two with great views of the mountains and the ponds on the property. We were a party of 5 adults and it was more than enough room for us. The hosts supplied paper goods, sheets, towels and coffee fixings. It is 10 minutes away from the Barn at Edgewood where we attended a beautiful wedding. There are antique stores and wineries nearby. The hosts checked in with us during our stay. We highly recommend renting this cottage!

Perfect farm cottage

Cottage was very clean and comfortable. Hosts were accommodating by providing basic spices, coffee and eggs in the kitchen. Plenty of towels and lots of space in the house to spread out. Loved seeing the cows in the pastures. Had a wonderful stay at this property,

Girls Weekend

We had a delightful time in this cozy and comfortable cottage home. It was very room, with all the different living areas to enjoy. The mountain views surrounding the property are amazing. The small town of Standardsville was delightful. Everyone was so kind. Our meal at the Lafayette Inn was wonderful. We are already talking about our next stay.

Wide open space

The location beautiful, quiet and serene. The house is much larger and roomier than it looks from outside. Everything was clean and the beds and pillows were comfortable. We will definitely want to come back. The only tip I will give is to not come up the service road entrance to the house because it is rough if you are not driving a truck. Go to the next driveway and go up that driveway instead. It is part of the owners property and a much better driveway.

Beautiful cottage with stunning views.

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would definitely do it. The cottage is all you can dream of. Better in real than on the photos. I wish we would have stayed much longer (4 nights) as it was such a beautiful and relaxing cottage. We spent a lot of time relaxing in the sun room. The location is great, just a short 15-20 min drive to Shenandoah National Park. The cottage has everything you need and more. And finally, the host Judy has been so accommodating. A big thank you to such a great host. Definitely the place to stay when visiting this part of VA.

Gorgeous and comfortable! We would love to rent again!

The house is very clean, comfortable, and well decorated. We were all very impressed when we walked in! It is located on the owner's farm with breathtaking views from every window. The owner was easy to communicate with, and even left us some welcome gifts in the fridge (including eggs fresh from the farm!). The house had everything that we needed, including spices for cooking, everything to make a good cup of coffee, and even travel size shampoo, conditioner, and soaps in the bathrooms. And the towels in the bathroom were SO soft! We had a great weekend and would happily rent again!

A slice of heaven

While it is true, as other reviews have suggested, that this fabulous place is a tad off the beaten trail, it is soooooo worth it. The drive through the country to get there was restorative all on its own! Privacy with a view out of every window. Every amenity one could need has been provided. The quiet of the country is soothing, but adventures of every sort are not that far away. In fact, there is a world class pizza place a mere 7 minutes away:) Directions are clear; expectations are detailed in a helpful fashion. We truly want to come again....

A Little Piece of Paradise

My hubby & I really enjoyed “the cottage on the farm”, it was very peaceful & relaxing. It is off the beaten path….Great location…easy to get to. We seen deer, a fox, & we believe a ground hog, not really sure….it did go in a hole!🤣 If you’re ever in the area, we highly recommend this place. Judy has great communication!
