Bottenvåningen erbjuder ett stort vardagsrum med gott om sittplatser och platt-TV, ett stort formellt matbord och ett kök som är större än de flesta. Det stora sovrummet med TV och king size-säng är på bottenvåningen och har ett Jack and Jill badrum med fristående dusch som ansluter till det andra sovrummet med två enkelsängar. Great vacation

The house was a great layout for us. We loved the screened porch and pool area, it was perfect to hang out. We spent most of our time at the house on that porch or in the pool. The walk to the beach wasn’t too bad, but we did rent a golf cart to haul all our stuff over.

Family vacation

The house was clean and roomy. The pool was wonderful. My grandchildren swam all the time. The walking access to the beach was not a great trek. We drove to the public accesses instead. The only bad thing about the house was all the gnats. We will definitely stay there again!

Wedding Beach House

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We stayed here with our wedding party the weekend of our wedding. It was perfect and offered enough space and flexibility for everyone. The pool and sunroom were where we spent most of our time. It's fairly close to everything and we enjoyed that we could get to anything we wanted in a short drive. The walk to downtown St simons was too far for us so we may have prefered something close to town.

Plumbing problems. Shower on first floor still leaks.

Reviewer Comments: As long as you're expecting an old-school beach house--sandy & modest, with a grab-bag of kitchen supplies (rather than a multimillion-dollar mansion with granite counters, like those springing up everywhere), you'll have a great time here. Perfect location!! Nice room lay-out: three BR/bathroom/twin BR combos, great for families. NO laundry facilities, which was a surprise with a beach house. Pool is unheated. But dogs are welcome.

Poor Tabby Quarters

Faulty wiring - wires coming out of wall with no outlet Rusty washer, 1/2 bath is in the washroom out back and very hot, lattice on back porch not properly attached l. Rusty screws protruding from doors, screens on back porch had holes. Mold in shower, exposed rotting wood around many door facings. I’m sure there is exposed lead paint. We informed the property manager, but no apology or an action taken. You get it. The house is not safe, especially for children. I was very disappointed.

Good location.

The bedrooms, living area, and porch were nice. The bathrooms left a lot to be desired. The kitchen was not clean. There was leftover coffee in the coffee pot that was put in one of the cabinets. There were food stains/drips on the inside doors of several of the cabinets. Many of the kitchen items had to be washed before I used them. The pantry was so musty that I didn't put any of our food in there. 4 of us had to start taking allergy medicine after being there one day. The shower heads were dirty. We have stayed on St. Simons every summer for about 20 years, and I've never had a place be dirty like this.

Tabby Quarters Review July 2022

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Location was great but we were definitely disappointed in the condition of the house for the price we paid. The living room, screened porch, and big dining table are nice but the rest of the house needs a lot of care. The beds are not the most comfortable, the bathrooms really are in need of upgrade. Doors were missing locks and those that did have locks were not much use. The front door and back door handles came off in our hands, the air conditioning leaked through the kitchen ceiling on the second night though this was fixed immediately by the rental company who were great. Then we needed a plumber as the bathtub wouldn't drain - again rental company was great. Location is great and if the house gets some much needed upgrades and some very simple fixes, we might consider going back but not in its current condition. I've rented elsewhere on the island and even though those homes were older too, they were in much better condition. I don't like leaving a negative review but have to be honest with this. Sorry.

Lovely beach house near the water

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house is lovely; has a cottage feel but very spacious. Two bedrooms down and 4 up. All jack-n-jill bathrooms, but each bedroom had its own sink. Very helpful with a large group. Good size, well stocked kitchen with adjacent dining room. The screened in back porch was a favorite! Next to the pool. Pool was clean and got plenty of sun. Could have used more beach loungers though. Short walk to the beach although the street signs aren’t very clear. Took us a couple times to figure it out. Overall, we had a wonderful stay!!

Happiest Vacation Ever!

We traveled to St. Simons with all of my family and my parents and my nephews and had the best week ever!!!! We loved spending time on the porch watching the kids swim! The home is delightful and had everything that we could ever need. We felt blessed to get to spend the week at Tabby Quarters!

Beautiful location but disappointed with house

This was a first time in over 10 years, we had a big family vacation. We had 12 people total in our group. My parents, my sisters, and their families. House was big enough for all of us. The property was in a nice area on beautiful St. Simons Island. The locals are very nice and relaxed. The property management company was friendly and helpful. But, the house is run down and does need a lot of work. I saw others reviews that said rustic but this house needs a little more work before I would consider it rustic. The furniture and decorations were fine and could be considered rustic. The walls need painting, the floors, especially on the second floor need to be redone. The floor in the kitchen slanted a little. The door knobs were in bad shape. Locking doors was interesting to say the least. The 4th street access to the beach is really the 3rd street access and that is walking through a grown up swampy area. I recommend walking to the coast guard entrance. All trash cans were completely full when we got there on Saturday. So, we had to hold all of our trash in the back room until Tuesday. Even the recycling bin was full of trash. We had to physically move the pool vacuum every day because it stayed in one place. And we could tell the floors had not been clean. Our feet were all filthy within an hour of us walking barefoot in the house. From reading the owners book, we know it is a work in progress. But, for the amount of money it cost to rent, I believe it should be further along. Will not go to that particular house again but will definitely go to Island again.

Large Home for big fam

The place was very clean when we arrived. It is an older home and we agreed with other reviewers about some of the beds not being comfortable. The pool was great. It is a longer walk to the beach than some other homes on St. Simons where we’ve stayed.

We enjoyed the large common area, spent a ton of time on the porch and by the pool and enjoyed the location of the house. We were certainly duped by the description of the house being 3/4 of a block to the beach access and 4 blocks to East Beach as we had never rented on the island. It was a solid 10 minute walk to the beach and totally understandable now that we are more familiar with the island, but we were unprepared. The house could use updates to the plumbing and to the locks on the doors. Overall it was a great experience.
