Perfect house in Domme/The Dordogne

This was the perfect house and perfect base for a week in the Dordogne for our family of four. The house was beautiful, clean, and comfortable. It is exactly as beautiful as the pictures show. The kitchen is not fancy but was well supplied and completely adequate for cooking dinner at the house, which we did several times. The pool was lovely to lounge by and take a dip in. The location of the house in Domme and Domme in the region was terrific for venturing out over the week. We highly recommend the home.

Quaint

The property was very clean and tastefully decorated. It is however very small which you cannot tell from the pictures. The main bedroom on the second floor has plenty of storage. The bedroom window was on the front road which affected privacy. The upstairs bunk rooms are tastefully decorated but not suited for adults. There is very little ventilation on the top floor so it gets extremely hot. I would suggest a ceiling fan be installed in the main bedroom if possible. The pool was very refreshing. The back patio is very rough so pool shoes or sandles are needed to walk on it. The house is minimally stocked with garbage bags, dishwasher tabs, toilet paper and laundry products. Be sure to stop at the grocery store in Cynac to stock up.

Très bon séjour à Domme

Maison agréable et bien placée pour visiter la région. La ville est touristique mais l'emplacement fait qu'on n'en subit pas les nuisances. Quatre remarques : 1) la décoration de la chambre du 1er étage pourrait être améliorée, c'est le moins que l'on puisse dire. 2) La 2ème salle de bains est un cabinet de toilettes, qui a le mérite d'exister, mais qui est attenant à la cuisine : personne n'a eu envie de l'utiliser. 3) Très compliqué de se garer devant la maison 4) La poignée du portail est cassée, cela a déjà été signalé dans les autres avis, me semble-t-il : à réparer urgemment, car cela a failli nous causer sérieux un problème ! La prestation d'ensemble est très satisfaisante, mais néanmoins un peu chère par rapport à ce que nous avons pu louer précédemment.

Domme for a week

Domme is a lovely town, great location and views. However, it was v much end of the season (end Sept/beginning Oct) so the town “dies”. Many restaurants closed/limited opening. Still enjoyed our time in the area.

Fabulous location, beautiful but quirky stone cottage

Beautiful old stone property located on the Ramparts in wonderful Domme with views over the valley. The pool was unheated but nevertheless most welcome on hot days. The spiral stairs are not for the faint hearted with no handrails but we quickly got used to them. On the downside a couple of issues: with a toilet that could take up to a minute of pushing in to get it to flush, a very slippery shower tray downstairs and door locks that were very temperamental to lock.

Fabulous week in Domme

We had a fantastic week in Domme in this brilliant property. We arrived during a heatwave so the lovely pool was invaluable, we found the property very well equiped and perfectly suited to our needs. The spiral staircase is not for the faint hearted but we managed with no problem. Only small problem that we encountered was the heat on the top floor, if the air conditioning unit could have been moved a little further into one of the bedrooms it would have made the nights more comfortable. Overall great trip though, thankyou

Lovely House Well Positioned.

Beautiful well equipped house. Ideally situated in Domme which is a great place to stay during the season. We are a family of five adults and the house was ideal. However, would advise against anyone with small children or elderly/infirm guests as the staircase is spiral without any side guards. This being said, we got used to it very quickly. Each bedroom was very comfortable and air conditioning units were available. The swimming pool was fantastic. There is street parking available, however it can be rather narrow. This wasn't a problem for us. All in all, we loved the house and the location and would not hesitate to rebook at a later date.
