Great location, responsive and helpful host. Very enjoyable stay.

The unit we stayed in (3) was great. It is located in the heart of Bar Harbor making all of the town center easily walkable. The location also has private parking which is great. The unit is comfortable and had everything we needed. The host is really nice, accessible and helpful.

Bar Harbor Cottage

This house is amazing and then some. It is located downtown which is a real blessing.Parking in Bar Harbor is impossible. Right across the street is a breakfast and lunch cafe. Ann’s home is warm and inviting and has everything you could want and it is spotlessly clean. Thank you for sharing Ann.

Best location

Very nice house. Needs railings up entire length of stairs, especially for older renters. We did have problems with that.

Great Location

This property had plenty of room and a wonderful location. We were able to catch the buses right across the street, walk to the tour boats and walk to great restaurants. There was a problem with the shower but the owner got plumbers in and solved the issue.

Perfect Hideaway

Staying in the heart of town with easy access to Acadia, via the Island Explorer or bike. Perfect hideaway to return & relax after a day out in the park, then walk in town for dinner or evening treat.

Great hideaway!

The hideaway is just that, a hidden gem in the best location. Ann is a wonderful host, with clear directions and a welcome basket full of yummy goodies. The house is spacious and clean, with a delightful courtyard to sit outside and rest even while close to downtown. We were close enough to hear the live music downtown but not go anywhere if we wanted. Easy walk to the shuttles and downtown harbor. Ann is delightful and joy-filled, and is a treasure as much as the space is!

Wonderful stay at The Hideaway!

The Hideaway was the perfect Bar Harbor stay. Walkable to the entire downtown area, yet private. The home is bright, beautiful and has the best equipped kitchen of any VRBO I have stayed in. Ann is a wonderful host- responsive and thoughtful- including a loveliest welcome basket.

PERFECT Bar Harbor Hideaway

We had the best time at this hideaway downtown - everything was so close, but once in the house it was peaceful and felt secluded. Beds were comfortable, we LOVED the step-in shower, and the washer and dryer were really convenient. We had everything we needed in the kitchen. We loved it and would 100% stay here again!

Another great week in Bar Harbor and ANP and this property met our needs. The location was perfect for pre-hiking breakfast and for catching the shuttle bus. The location was also perfect for post hiking happy hours, dinner and shopping. It had everything we needed and it was comfortable and clean.

Beyond our expectations!

The Hideaway was wonderful! The house was immaculate and in the center of town, yet quiet and peaceful, the kitchen was equipped with everything you would ever need including sharp knives! We had a wonderful week!

Acadia Vacation

House was very nice and well kept. Host was very easy to work with and made our stay feel like home. Location is great to access just about anything in Bar Harbor or go to Acadia National Park. Driveway is tricky since it is next to a couple of restaurants and people were standing in line. Enjoyed our stay!

Amazing in town location!

We found this property very convenient with it's location so close to town while we also appreciated Ann being completely available for any of our questions and needs. The house was able to meet the needs of my wife and 2 year old, my son loved the giant walk in shower and the 3 town parks with in a few blocks. This is the 5th house I have rented on Desert Island and by and far Ann was nicest owner I have had the pleasure to rent from!

The property is exactly as described. It is very convenient to the Acadia buses/park as well as to the many restaurants and shops that Bar Harbor has. Ann is an excellent host, we enjoyed the house, patio, and convenience of the property. Thank you Ann.

Fantastic home in a great location

Had a great stay! The photos do not do the property justice. It was very spacious and bright and the outdoor area was beautiful. Well equipped kitchen and the location was fantastic and walking distance to everything in town. Our favorite hikes in the park were a short 5 minute drive. Had we stayed later in the season the Island Explorer would have been a great option and would have been a short walk up the driveway. We are already looking forward to our next visit!

Perfect location

The house was impeccably clean when we showed up and there was the nicest welcome basket and note. We felt at home right away and found the gathering spaces great for curling up and spending time together. The most amazing part of the property though was the location. It managed to be quiet enough to relax and still be just steps from the excitement of Bar Harbor. To be able to walk out into the bustle of the shops/restaurants and then retreat within minutes was unique and fantastic. For our family there wouldn’t have been a better place to stay in town.

Wonderful stay

We enjoyed our visit very much. Central location walkable to all of the main spots in Bar Harbor. Parking was easy and the Cafe next door was not bothersome. You can get breakfast right across your parking lot if you want. You can catch the shuttle easily to Acadia on a 2 minute walk from this place. Acadia and most other things are working a 15 minute drive. Our host was wonderful and there were delicious treats and a bottle of wine when we arrived. All together excellent experience.

Great Location, House and Amenities

The location of this property, hidden in the center of downtown Bar Harbor, is fantastic. The house itself is also terrific with a large living room, eat in kitchen and upstairs bathroom. Our family was very impressed with the many amenities provided throughout. The bedrooms are not large like the rooms mentioned earlier, but they are fine. The house and yard are obviously kept in very good condition. Having your own private parking right in town is a bonus.

Awesome

Village Green Hideaway is the perfect place to stay if you want to be close to the shops etc in Bar Harbor. Very comfortable with an extremely well stocked kitchen. The welcome basket was such a nice surprise and included wine, cheese, coffee and other goodies. Nice to have off street parking and as noted by other reviewers there is a cafe right next door but we did not have any issues with noise. The house was spotless, walk in shower was amazing and plenty of towels and paper goods provided. Highly recommend Village Green Hideaway.

3 nights stay wish it were more

I planned a road trip with my husband and another couple and stopped off in Boston for 2 nights, what a nightmare place, I was praying the entire way to Bar harbor that the place would be much better, and OMG, what an excellent place to stay, right in the center of town, just park the car and you are on your way. We were greeted with a basket of goodies, so surprised, the place had a really big shower/bathroom area, bed rooms were very nice, clean, had a sitting outside area, big kitchen, living area, had everything you need. So nice, I would recommend this place to anybody. Thanks Ann for the lovely place. Out of the 3 places we stayed that week, this place was by far the best. Received security deposit as mentioned in contract in a timely manner.
