Fall in love with San Diego from our centrally located historic neighborhood of Normal Heights. Getting around is a breeze when your 15 minutes from every attraction San Diego has to offer such as Balboa Park, The San Diego Zoo, Sea World, Down Town, Ocean Beach, Coronado Island and all the local restaurants, micro breweries and craft cocktail bars that foodies rave about.

The space is inspired by our local spa Zen Sanctuary, we wanted to create an space for you to relax, clear your mind and rejuvenate your body so you can make the most out of your experience here in San Diego. We offer high quality mattresses, linens, and towels as well as complimentary coffee and Tea. There are two bedrooms both with natural lighting and closet space. The larger room features a queen size bed. The second room has two full size beds. There is one full bathroom with a walk in shower. The cozy living room is comfortable and clean and our furniture blends our minimalistic and asian inspired style. The art pieces feature local artist (your host) David Warder and are available for purchase. There are two portable AC units in the house, one is installed in the living room and the second is in the master bedroom. This home is kid friendly and toys and a pack and play are available with advanced request.
The small kitchen is equipped with a full fridge, stove, microwave, and sink (no dishwasher), as well as utensils, pots pans, plate ware and oil salt and pepper for cooking. There is a two person dinette in the kitchen and a full dining table for enjoying a proper meal. The yard is an assortment of plants, dirt and grass and feels great on bare feet. Enjoy your coffee or breakfast on our outdoor patio set in the private, perfectly partially sunny/partially shaded yard.

Wonderful stay

David’s place was wonderful! His place is cozy and comfortable as advertised-beds very comfortable, nicely equipped kitchen, cozy backyard and nice neighborhood. We were able to walk almost everywhere we wanted to go. David is easy to communicate with and very attentive to our needs. We will definitely stay there again.

Family vacation

This lodging worked well for visiting the SD area sites including the Safari Park and Zoo. The property was clean and worked well for our family.

Great place for our needs

The house was perfect for our needs. We needed a place close to SDSU campus and this was within a 5 minutes drive. The house was clean and had everything we needed. Instructions for check-in and check out were clearly communicated and the property manager was easy to communicate with. There was more than enough room for my son (age 18) and I (the beds were especially comfortable). If my husband were able to attend, there still would have been plenty of room for the three of us. We were a quick drive to the beaches (Pacific, Mission, and Ocean Beach (20ish minutes). Our main purpose was to attend new student and parent orientation at SDSU, so we didn't spend a lot of time doing touristy things. However, the house is not far from many of the local attractions. We would stay here again!

Clean and convenient, if a bit secluded

My family and I spent a weekend in SD for an event at SDSU. This property was convenient to get to and comfortable for the 4 of us. It’s tucked back into the neighborhood and little harder to find the first time. There are a lot of food options within a few minutes drive and you have a dedicated parking spot. Hostels were responsive and polite. We’d stay again if we were brought back to SD.

Great place to stay- close to so much!

We enjoyed our stay very much. We were able to access so many places to have daily activities and then enjoy the outside space in the evenings. It was a private oasis in the backyard. At first, we were concerned about the neighborhood but had zero issues and/or concerns as the week progressed. We found a great sandwich shop called Dos Palmas that we highly recommend. Close to grocery stores, highways, and fun things to do in San Diego. The house was clean, cute, and had everything we needed. They even had a beach umbrella and towels. David, the host was great! Responsive and helpful.

Great central location

We were in town to tour SDSU with our daughter and were within 15 minutes of beaches, the university, mission hills, and the zoo. Great cozy spot for the four of us, nice and clean, amazing bathroom - shower pressure could have been better but worked fine. Highly recommended!

Great property with a very accurate listing

Everything was exactly as described and pictured. Thoughtful details like a Nespresso and milk frother, beach bag and beach towels. Easy to access and felt very safe. Easy access to freeways for getting around to all of San Diego. Great communication from host. Thank you!

Cute

This was a new listing at the time we stayed. Enjoyed the area, close to everywhere we wanted to be. David was a great communicator and his response time was quick. The beds are very comfortable and bathroom is beautiful. Parking isn’t the best as we had two cars and had to find parking on the street for the second one.

felt relaxed and safe coming "home" to this property during our vacation

We stayed here for a week and enjoyed the place so much that we would come back again next time we visit San Diego! The property is just as described and David was a great host - he even brought us some children's books for bedtime and blocks to play with! This place is even better in person, the artwork is gorgeous. The beds and bedding were super comfortable and soft, as promised. Kitchen had everything we needed. Shower was really nice. Loved having a living room/dining area too. The outside area was lovely as well. Great coffee. I'm so glad we stayed her versus a hotel - it was much more private, quiet, and comfortable. We really love the neighborhood Normal Heights, there's a playground nearby that we walked to and a lot of good food options. It was a little hard to find the property, but completely worth it because having a parking spot in front of the door made traveling with a child so much easier. I'm not sure how the property would feel during a heat wave, but the 2 air conditioners were great during the cooler weather week we had. This is might the only vacation I DIDN'T say: "I can't wait to be back in my own bed" at the end! We were happy and content, felt relaxed and safe coming "home" to this property during our vacation. A bad rental can ruin a vacation, but a great rental can make it even better! This property was the cherry on top of a great trip and I'm so grateful we found it.

Welcome to the neighborhood. My wife and our two girls have loved living in Normal Heights for the past 11 years. We love the independent restaurants and shops as well as the walkability. Our family loves to travel and we have stayed in bnb’s all over the world. We love good food, tasty drinks, culture, art and outdoor activities.

We also own Zen Sanctuary, a holistic spa in the neighboring Kensington. Walking distance from the house. We offer massage, acupuncture and skin care. We have 7 treatment rooms and are open from 9-9 seven days a week.

We tend to give our guests their privacy but we are happy to share visitor information or help in any way we can, just ask.
