The cabin was a very nice place to stay. We snowshoes at the Kickapoo State Reserve nearby.

Nice and Relaxing

Overall, this is a wonderfully relaxing cabin with a beautiful view. We saw the northern lights just out the back door. The host is always very helpful.

Great place for a quiet getaway!

Beautiful area, great accommodations, quiet. Everything was as advertised! We enjoyed the offerings in the neighboring towns, but mostly loved the chance to reconnect with each other uninterrupted and at length!

Perfect location in the Driftless

Very clean and peaceful house among farms with all modern conveniences. We really enjoyed our stay, drove all around the driftless area and say 9 bald eagles in one day!

Great Country Cottage!

The cottage and property were great -- beautiful rolling hills of farmland. The house had plenty of room and was clean. And our host, Jenny, was very responsive and accommodating. Thanks Jenny!! We will be back.

Second Visit

This was our second time staying at Country Pines. Betty and Dan were very responsive to our needs, the "cabin" is clean and nicely appointed. The setting is beautiful with lots of places to walk. The Sparta-Elroy Bike Trail is a short 30 min drive. We had a wonderful time, and hope to be back again in the future.

Everything was great. Weather was mediocre but didn’t keep us from enjoying our stay and the cottage. Lovely country to view. Hope to return next fall!!!!! So much to see and do in the Driftless Area

Peaceful getaway

We needed a break from our hectic schedules and this cottage certainly helped to accomplish that. The cottage is just as advertised and pictured. It s in a very peaceful setting very quiet. The cottage is very well stocked with everything you could need plus some. We could not have asked for a nicer place to stay it met our needs 100%

Great fall trip

The house was very clean and well organized. The beds were comfortable, the area was very quiet, and the kitchen had all the items you'd need. Twice we grabbed some delicious take out from the co-op in Viroqua for dinner and reheated it at the house. We visited in October and took advantage of the fire pit outside. Great to sit under the stars. If we were in the area again, we would definitely stay here.

Amazing!!

What a lovely cottage!!! So clean, updated, comfortable. The hosts were available to answer questions and provided some local tips when we arrived. The area is beautiful and soooo peaceful. We would sit by the campfire in the evenings and truly relax. Location is ideal... 8 minutes to Westby which has a grocery store and some restaurants. 15 minutes to Viroqua which has more delicious restaurants. And 30 minutes to Wildcat Mountain State Park for superb hiking. Could not have asked to a better and more relaxing trip.

Wonderful stay, great hosts!

We've stayed at MANY rentals over the years, and Country Pines Cottage is one of the best -- spotless, decorated tastefully with farmhouse touches and quality pieces, welcoming and serene. We cook more than eat out, and the kitchen was thankfully generously equipped. There were even plastic containers available for leftovers - you never see that in rentals! The little bags of popcorn and air popper were a fun surprise. Plenty of comfortable seating both inside and out as well as comfy main bed. Abundance of bath towels & nice big shower. The owners responded quickly and helpfully when we had questions, really nice people. We love the Driftless area for its endless forested bluffs and deep narrow coulees accessed by winding, hilly country lanes. We took a longish trip beyond Madison to visit Aztalan mounds state park, and on another day a shorter jaunt to Devil's Lake near Baraboo. Driftless Glen Distillery in Baraboo was a great dinner stop with a riverside deck. Sadly, our favorite Driftless Cafe in nearby Viroqua was closed the whole week we were there, but if you get a chance, go! Some of the best cuisine in the midwest! Thanks, Betty, Daniel, and Jennifer, for providing a perfect getaway.

I grew up near Westby Wi, and always loved living in the country. I currently live in Minneapolis, but travel back to Westby as often as I can to visit family. My parents live near the property and take great care of the cottage. We hope you enjoy Country Pines Cottage as much as we do!

Varför vÀrden valde detta boende

My mom and I put together this vacation rental and many pieces of furniture in the rental are built by my dad. The 1000 square foot cottage is roomy and cozy. It has in floor heat to keep your toes warm on those chilly nights. The kitchen has top notch appliances and stocked with anything you need to prepare your own meal. Relax outside by the fire pit and enjoy the country evening. *Firewood is not included.

The farmhouse cottage is located in the country, yet close to everything you might want to experience. For the outdoorsmans, we are close to Class 1 fishing streams, the famous Driftless area where hiking, ATV, horseback riding trails are abundant, and the Kickapoo river for canoeing. Are you a shopper? You can take in the Amish shops and visit local antique stores. The cottage is centrally located to all the attractions.

Vad som gör detta boende unikt

What makes this cottage unique is that at night you will see crystal clear stars while listening to the crickets. There is no roadside traffic as you take in the countryside sights and sounds. Being on a dead end road gives you privacy and quiet nights to relax. The property is across the driveway from the owners, however you will not be disturbed. But if you have questions, the owners can assist.
