Conveniently located just 15 min. to Whiteface Mountain, a 30 min drive to adventure in Lake Placid, Keene, and the Adirondack Mountains. Whether you're hiking, skiing, biking, fishing, or exploring the Adirondacks, the Cedar Chalet is the ideal basecamp for your Adirondack adventures!

Nestled in a quiet area, this quaint chalet with room for up to six, offers a serene retreat from the hustle and bustle. Enjoy your morning coffee on the spacious deck, or step inside to an open-concept kitchen and living room, complete with a full bath conveniently located on the main floor.

If you've ever dreamed of the cozy simplicity of living, this chalet delivers a comfortable and intimate space. While it’s not as expansive as some properties, it’s brimming with charm and functionality.

Important Note: The chalet features steeper stairs leading to the two upstairs bedrooms, which may not be suitable for those with mobility challenges. However, there’s a bedroom and additional bath located on the lower walkout basement level for added convenience.

We do not supply wood for the outside fire pit. If you need anything during your stay, or just suggestions of places in the area to visit just reach out to us. We're only a message away for info during your stay.

Overall the place is very nice. The place appears to have been recently updated, especially the main floor with living/kitchen area and bathroom. The images of the bedrooms are incorrect. It shows all bedrooms begin on the top floor with the tongue-in-groove roof joist structure. The third bedroom is actually in the basement with the second bathroom and wash area. There was a slight musty odor throughout the chalet probably due to not being aired out too much. The space is good for 4 adults but 6 would be very tight. All things in the place were in very good condition and clean. Air condition was sufficient for the top (with provided fans, thank you) and main floors. To keep the basement cool we had to open the basement windows and use the provided fan while sleeping.

Time away from the city

Our stay was enjoyable and memorable. The Cedar Chalet was a comfortable place to BE. I recommend this VRBO to others it is conveniently located next to popular tourist sites. My family and I found the Cedar Chalet relaxing and home like. The host was very helpful with answering any questions we had.

This property was located in a very beautiful area of the Adirondack park. My sister and I had many adventures hiking, and sightseeing. There are not a lot of places to eat out but heading towards Keene we found quite a few very nice restaurants and of course Lake Placid is only 30 minutes away. Driving, then, climbing to the top of Whiteface was amazing. The stairs going to the upstairs rooms are quite steep so my sister stayed on the couch downstairs and I stayed in the basement space which was very comfortable. I would highly recommend this little gem and again the cleanliness was beyond Both my sister and I really appreciated that and it was also very well stocked

Great Retreat

Had a wonderful time in this cozy chalet. It's in a quiet, wooded neighborhood and central to the northwestern region of the Adirondacks, where I was visiting. A small grocery store was 10 minutes away. I hope to return soon!

Cozy place!!

Very clean and well equipped. Great place to hike Esther and whiteface from! Amy was awesome with communication and the beds were comfortable!I highly recommend! The deck would have been wonderful had the wether cooperated.Thanks Amy!

ADK Getaway

We loved the chalet. My cousin and her kids had rooms upstairs and I had the ground lever bedroom w easy access for my dogs. The location was perfect and the property was perfect for a weekend of hiking and fishing

Tucked in the woods, we saw deer and a Luna moth. It got surprisingly cold a couple days, but the owner supplied wood for a wood stove, which was nice. She seemed to think of everything for the kitchen too. Downside: steep stairs

Adirondack retreat!

A perfect retreat!

We stayed here on Memorial Day weekend for a getaway with our 19 and 22 year old . It was a perfect trip with hiking, fishing and restaurants nearby. The host was quick to respond to any questions. We truly enjoyed our stay!

Wonderful Winter Weekend!

We stayed at the Cedar Chalet for the weekend. We came up for a weekend of skiing/snowboarding with our teenage kids. The chalet is very cozy and comfy. There was plenty of room for 2 adults and 3 teenage kids. The chalet is less than 15 minutes from Whiteface Mountain and about 30 min to the town of Lake Placid. Amy checked in with us a couple of times and was very easy to communicate with. We enjoyed playing the board games she has available for guests. Many reviews have mentioned the stairs - they are a bit steep but very manageable. We would definitely stay again if we are traveling to the area.

Clean and Cozy Chalet

This was the cleanest rental we have stayed in. The home was well stocked, decorated nicely, and tucked away in a quiet neighborhood. We enjoyed the area, the home, and our host Amy checked to make sure we got in ok, and let us know about things to do in the area. We would definitely rent again.

Perfect Location

It was the perfect location for us and a plus we could bring our dog. Very clean and loved full size appliances. My only negstive would be that the stairs inside going up and down to the bedrooms were very steep. I had to step sudeways so as not to slip and our dog whined and needed coaxing. The set to the basement he woukdnt do.

Just what we were looking for!

Cedar Chalet was exactly what we wanted for our stay. It was the perfect location for exploring and hiking the Adirondack Mountains area. The home looked and smelled very clean and accomodated our family of 6 adults comfortably. We would definitely stay there again.
