There is something about the connection to nature that is both exhilarating and relaxing. Poetry in Motion is within walking distance from the community outdoor pool, tennis court, fishing pier, and beach.

The house features two decks to enjoy your morning coffee or evening cocktail. Allow the smell of the ocean and the taste of the salt to hypnotize you. The kitchen features granite countertops and stainless steel appliances throughout. Peruse a collection of books, games, and puzzles, or play a friendly game of foosball or basketball. Enjoy the two main suites with private baths. Kid-friendly extras include a high chair and bassinet. Other amenities include beautiful mahogany flooring, free WiFi, a 42-inch TV, foosball, basketball goal, grill, and outdoor shower. Foods taste better, sleep comes easier, and life seems simpler at Poetry in Motion.
You will be required to sign an additional lease agreement upon making a booking which will be sent to your email. You will not be able to check in until we have received your signature electronically.

The house was exactly what we were looking for. However, be prepared, there is nothing in the way of food or condiments (not even salt or pepper). So it's like staying in a hotel - you get the shampoo, conditioner and body wash. There was only one beach chair, and no beach towels. Vacasa gives you one pod for the washer and 2 dishwasher pods; which you need to use one of them when you leave. So. With all that said, we LOVED the house, the location to the beach was amazing and the beds were so comfortable. To me, those were the most important aspects of our vacation.

Great spot to wake up to the waves !

We loved the location of this house ! We opened the sliding doors to the master bedroom every morning to the sound of waves and the view of the sunrise. The house has multiple levels so be ready to climb and find your perfect spot ! The walk to over the dunes is a quick one and there is a public access with stairs nearby. The house has multiple deck areas that face the ocean. Coffee up there in the morning is perfect ! The Pier is right down the beach and the bike trail/side walk easily accessible. There is a spacious dining area and living room for family games. We had a great time !

Loved our stay in Avon. This property was on the beach and steps to the water. Also close to several places to get coffee, food, or drinks.

Location is fabulous. The house is great. There were boogie boards there for us to use as well as lots of games. Tips for staying here:Bring cleaning supplies for the kitchen, dish towels, paper towels, toilet paper, trash bags, extra blankets for beds. There’s an awesome playground one block over in front of the Avon Pier. The pier costs 2 a person and it gives you access all day. We saw a black tip shark right off the pier!Food Lion is a mile away as well as various shops for beach gear and souvenirs. Surfs Up Seafood market had better prices than Food Lion for crabs and shrimp, and the seafood was delicious. In Buxton, 10 min away, there’s a used book store, an escape room, and go karts. Angelos pizza is also nice. The fishing was great. We did a charter out of Hatteras one day, and it was great and only 30 min away. We had a wonderful stay! We’d love to come back!

Great location and views

The location feels quite private but is also a very short walk to the Avon Pier. Great ocean views from the decks. Furnishings were quite nice, including a foosball table. All beds were made except for top bunks; we didn't use those and they did leave a set of clean sheets if we had. Two sets of towels in each bedroom. I'm accustomed to renting beach houses that are not provided with linens so that was a nice service. My only complaints are that the kitchen was not well stocked with cooking pots and utensils, and the outdoor shower did not have adequate hot water supply (restriction in the line?).

Great house in Avon

This house has great views and is a short walk to the beach. Most of the bedrooms have ocean views and walk out doors to the deck. The large kitchen and dining area was great for having family meals.

Gorgeous views nice layout but has maintenance issues

This is a nice location, next to the fishing pier. Lots of surfers to watch and close to grocery and good restaurants. Good layout and amazing views from most rooms. Steps from the beach, and if that’s not why you’re in OBX, pick a nicer house off the beach. The problem we had is that we walked in to see a stained box spring, broken dryer, slider in BR not functioning, door screen and closet door leaned against the wall. I thought the cleaning was decent but MIL had an inch of dust on her ceiling fan and couldn’t use it. Local management office is nearby and the receptionist was professional and helpful and let us pickup clean towels every day (since the dryer was never fixed, parts were ordered, same for the closet door, screen and slider). The box spring was cleaned and the ice maker was fixed (apparently someone had disconnected the water). I spent hours texting with remote management company and they were professional and polite but never got back to me or seemed to know what the local team was doing to remedy our issues. We paid $7,600 and requested a partial refund since the property was not in the shape it should be for that price point and we had to spend the week dealing with the issues and had the inconvenience of 10 people who packed for 5 days planning to have a washer and dryer not able to do laundry all week. Still waiting for a response. I would still stay again at lower rate, views are amazing and beach was great.

We enjoyed the house. Good location and house layout. Only issue we had was the railing on the top floor deck was broken , this caused some concern due to the fact that we had three small children staying with us.

House was nice but needs a couple small things

I loved the location and house. Very well outfitted. Would stay again. 3 negatives. 1. Dead roaches found on floor not vacuumed up. 2. Outside water hose and nozzle needs to be replaced. It’s in bad shape. 3 some loose boards on back deck. Outside of this it was fantastic. Will stay again.

House needs work

The house was very dirty. The bed was made with wrong size sheet so only half the bed was made. No screen door on patio door. Wood slats coming up on deck. Ceiling fans were very dirty. Countertop in kitchen was very disgusting. The paper towel we used was very dirty. The windows had so much dirt on them. The dining room table had paint chipping off and chairs looked like they were so dirty you didn’t want to sit on them. Not my kind of place at all. Never experienced this kind of house in 18 years. Never again. What a waste of money. The only thing good was the view. The lamp in bedroom had to be plugged in cause no switch on it. Other lamp was beat up. Didn’t sit on table properly. Will never rent again. Picture is deceiving.

Beautiful ocean view! Overall beautiful home!

The home is overall beautiful but does need some TLC. There are areas in the kitchen, especially by the main sink, where the paint is peeling badly. Dining room furniture could use an update…strip table and repaint…either new chairs or reupholster, they are badly stained. The two showers we utilized also need their shower heads replaced. I recommend more attention to cleaning bathroom hardware, otherwise very clean! Maybe condense the storage of kitchen ware to allow cabinet space to store food…there’s no pantry. There was a lot of trash on the outside of the property, especially the rear!!! Our family enjoyed the stay very much, highly considering staying at this home again!!! Beautiful ocean views!!!

Good not great

The home is perfectly located, the path to the beach was helpful. The cheap flooring upstairs makes for a creeky walk at all times of the day. The front door needs to be adjusted because only the larger men could open it. The hose to wash your feet off had about 17 holes in it (I ended up buying my own to use for the week and brought it home). If a little TLC would go into the home it would have been a perfect two weeks.

Only good thing was the view

24/7 support and professional cleaning did not happen! I rent this cottage for the view and this was the last time I’m renting it. When your customer has a valid complaint you need to take care of them.

out of date and not clean

The microwave had food exploded in it. Dishes in the cabinets were dirty with food on them. Shower doors moldy. Baseboards never cleaned. Kitchen sink wall black mold behind peeling paint. Someone left cigarette buds in a plastic bottle on the porch full of water, gross. Lots of trash around house, in grass and under bushes. This house needs a lot of attention and care.

Good Layout and Great Location - Could have been cleaner

Comfortable oceanfront home. Good layout for several families to share and even better views. But the house has been poorly maintained and was not very clean when we checked in.
