Old-World Retreat at 1860s Manor: Luxury Amenities - Tennis Court & Nature Trail

The luxurious, French-styled Carriage House is a 3-bedroom villa at the historic Church Point Manor (built in 1860). With a first-floor, King-bed room and two upstairs, queen-bed rooms, the Carriage House can comfortably host up to 6 guests. Every bedroom has an en-suite bathroom, it’s own thermostat and central A/C and heating unit, and a fully-stocked coffee bar. The front door opens to an intimate and cozy foyer and dining area and continues into an expansive living room with a 50" TV and a wood burning fireplace. Three arched carriage doors open to the outside, allowing guests to enjoy an indoor-outdoor space from the foyer or living room.

Enjoy a match of tennis or pickle ball on our secluded tennis court, or play a round of bocce ball on our charming grounds (equipment included). Relax for the evening on the covered porch just 20 feet away from our 300-year-old, award-winning (yes, really!) willow oak tree.

Incredible stay!

We absolutely loved our visit to this old world retreat. Such a cute little cottage that was incredibly clean and well maintained. Tyler and Kate were extremely responsive and great hosts. Would stay here again for sure!

We enjoyed a lovely stay at the carriage house. The accommodations were well appointed and very comfortable and the grounds were beautifully groomed. Tyler was attentive to our needs. We would most definitely book again when we are in the area.

As perfect as it looks!

Such a wonderful property. As beautiful as the photos and the trail and dock were my favorite part - luckily we had some nice weather while we were there! Tyler and Kate were so helpful and accommodating. We will absolutely stay here again when we’re in town visiting family.

Amazing property!

Fantastic carriage house that accommodated 3 tennis players in town for a tournament. The location is excellent and the grounds are beautiful. Close to parks and amazing restaurants. Highly recommended!

Flower show trip

We came to enter a floral arrangement in a flower show given by the Virginia Beach Garden Club. We needed space to do the arrangement, space to relax and space to sleep. The property is really adorable, clean and well-appointed and the location is upscale and safe. Restaurants and shops are within close distance and the neighborhood is good also good for walking. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

Lovely house and area

This historic property is lovely, and we enjoyed the nature trail. Amenities are consistent with a historic building, but very comfortable and inviting. It’s located conveniently to restaurants and everything in Virginia Beach.

Beautiful home

My husband, his parents and our 2 year old stayed at the Carriage House again for the second time and as usual, it was a wonderful stay! Everything is in great condition, love having separate AC in each room so everyone could be in a temp they prefer, and beautiful grounds to walk. We love staying here and plan to continue to any time we visit the area. Tyler and Kate are wonderful hosts!

Wonderful Cottage

Our stay at this charming cottage was wonderful. We all were able to relax in a quite setting, with wonderful accommodation and beautiful grounds to explore. The cottage is located in a safe and easy to travel through community with amenities close by. You will not be disappointed staying in this home away from home.

Delightful Get Away

The Carriage House is a delightful stay while in the Virginia Beach area. Wonderful accommodations with an Old World flare, quaint French Cottage. Close to shopping, restaurants, First Landing park, Ocean Front & Naval Bases. I recommend this VRBO to everyone. All will enjoy this serene setting & beautiful grounds.

Great Cottage in very nice neighborhood.

This stay definitely exceeded our expectations. We had a total of 5 adults (all immediate family) and everyone was comfortable. The woodburning fireplace was wonderful on the chilly mornings. The host, Tyler was very quick and responsive for the couple of request we had. We will stay there again for sure.

A Beautiful Place

Short Getaway

The cottage was immaculate and charming! It gives you such a welcoming and comfortable feeling right away. We enjoyed the nature trail and dock many times during our 3 days on the property. We look forward to returning when the weather is warmer but it was a delightful way to start the New Year!

Unique and convenient. Stay in Virginia Beach.

This home could not have been cleaner or better equipped. Truly appreciate the coffee and other supplies that were provided. We had no issues come up, but the owner had reached out upon our arrival to let us know he was available. Only wish we could’ve spent more time there! Would definitely book again when visiting the area

A cozy place to stay

We had a great long weekend stay. Four adults for three nights, plus my adult daughter stayed one night. Plenty of room for everyone. We loved the living room and dining area, plus the galley kitchen was very functional. The grounds are also beautiful. Thank you Tyler for your prompt attention to our numerous questions. Highly recommend this rental.

Cozy Retreat

Property was exactly as described. Owner was near property and handled one minor problem with speed and courtesy. Everything was super clean with all beds being very comfortable. Pre check in communication was great and check in was flawless. Quiet neighborhood with much history to explore. Convenient to beach , airport. Would definitely rent here again.

Nice Place

The Carriage House and grounds were beautiful. One thing to be aware of is that the kitchen does not have a full size range and oven. It has a plug in range stored in one of the cabinets for use, a small refrigerator, a microwave, toaster oven, and full size sink.

A wonderful Gem - in Virginia Beach

The carriage house was awesome. Each bedroom had heat/air controls, each bedroom had a bathroom, the beds were great, the furnishings were clean, new and the house was spotless. There was a small kitchenette. The furnishings were beautiful and very comfortable. The surroundings were very serene and nice. Don't miss the free tours of the historic Adam Thorougood house

Baby shower

This is a wonderful property. We rented the carraige house for 4 days as we were hosting a baby shower for daughter with the attached Manor House in the Wine Celler. The owners made the experience very easy as we were planning from across country. The carraige house was perfect for the family as had 3 master suites, with ample room to hang out in living area. The property was very clean and had a lovely boardwalk down to the water. All of our guest were very impressed with the venue. Could not have asked for a better situation and stay. Will definitely use again when back in the area.
