Experience life on a mini lychee orchard in a plantation home very close to The Volcano National Park. Just 15 minutes to Volcano National Park and 8 minutes to the airport & shopping! Enjoy the views of our beautiful Mauna Kea "white mountain" a dormant volcano towering 4,200 meters above sea levels! Every now and then you can see the snow caps on our beautiful majestic mountain.
Our Home is just 15 minutes to Volcano National Park and 8 minutes to the airport & shopping! Enjoy the views of our beautiful Mauna Kea "white mountain" a dormant volcano towering 4,200 meters above sea level! Every now and then you can see the snow caps on our beautiful majestic mountain.

This home has a private entrance at the top of the stairs and is very cute and cozy, it is a 3 bedroom, 1 bath. Guest bedroom #1 has a bunk bed, guest bedroom #2 has a Cal king & Guest Bedroom #3 has a Cal king. This property has everything you need to enjoy your well-earned vacation in Hawaii. House has been freshly painted outside and new appliances (Stove and fridge) have been added recently to the home. Please note that friendly owners live downstairs in a separate entrance. * No washer or dryer available.

Tip: If vacationing at our home please book your flights to Hilo airport instead of arriving in Kona. Hilo is where we are located it will definitely save you a far drive. if you were to arrive in Kona it would be 1hr 30 mins vs arriving in Hilo which is a 17min drive to our home.

Some things you should know prior to staying in Hawaii:
The Big Island is not to be missed, so to help make your Hawaiian dreams a reality, we have assembled all the things you may need to know about staying here in Hawaii! Curious about places to visit or things to do? "Ask us about our recommendations list!". The Big Island of Hawaii seems determined to break the norm; the stereotype of the average tropical island, that is. Here you'll find the ongoing battle between green forests, black lava fields, the ocean, the rain, and sunny days almost incomprehensible; the diversity is simply stunning. With that being said from time to time insects can be present outdoors and sometimes make their way indoors due to our tropical climate here in Hawaii. We share this information with you folks because we understand insects can be something to be fearful about or can be somewhat of a nuisance to some individuals. We would like to rest assured that we do schedule pest control services in our very tight schedule & do the maximum recommended to not harm people in the house/Condo which is once a month), but it's one of the few cons of tropical weather. Please know we go above and beyond for all of our guests and make sure to provide standard maintenance for extra comfort and an enjoyable time when staying with us here in Hawaii.

Peaceful Cottage

We enjoyed our stay at this nicely restored historic home. It was clean and comfortable. Host lives on property so we had to make an effort to keep the kids from getting too loud or rowdy.

Secluded & quiet

No other buildings around the house, peaceful in a gorgeous & lush area. Very comfortable beds & spacious house. Close to main roads for any trips on the island. Met owner & she’s awesome!

Perfect Getaway

When we booked this spot we wanted something close to Hilo and Volcano National Park but in a remote area. It was perfect for our family of 5. We could explore the East side of the Island easily and the home had everything we needed. The beds were very comfortable and we easily were able to relax in the evenings after full days of exploring. The tenant downstairs was also super friendly. We highly recommend this spot if you want a country setting.

Nice but not liking the flying termites

Owner is super friendly. 3 comfortable bedrooms. No washing machine nor dishwasher but property details are accurate. No a/c, so it can get warm during the day/evening. Thankfully ceiling fans have been recently installed. During the first evening, flying termites got inside the house and were all over the place. We were told by the owner it’s normal during the summer months of June and July, considering this is a 1950 wood house. The bugs appear at dusk and go away a few hours later. I would have liked to know this fact in order to make an informed decision to rent or not. That explains the 2 stars for cleanliness of property. Lastly, I put 4 stars for the check-in process as we never received the code to open the key box Luckily the owner was on site.

We loved our stay.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The host Shirley is fantastic, the house is great and we were very pleased with our stay! This property is not a condo type or cold feeling hotel. You are staying in a home on property in farm country lovingly cared for by one of the sweetest people you will meet in the island!
