Santa Barbara Cubby in the Garden

This location was so cute and totally comfortable!! They've thought of everything! The bed was easy, kitchen had everything one would need, bathroom was tiny but had everything and was just enough space all the same. The washer and dryer were so nice to have. The property and gardens were fantastic! Parking was a breeze. We slept super soundly even though during our stay construction was going on nearby. The location was the best! Debbie and her team have thought of everything and had a notebook of easy directions for all available in the unit and recommendations for nearby. I'd say it's great for one or two people. Thank u Debbie for a great first visit to Santa Barbara from Seattle! We hope to be back to Baby Dux soon!!

Cozy and close to State St.

We enjoyed walking and riding the bikes offered by the rental. We rode over 20 miles in 2 days on their cruiser type bikes. Check in was easy and the place was small, but just what we wanted . Santa Barbara is just beautiful.

Great place for quick stay . . .

We did a quick overnight for The Chicks concert at the SBBowl, which we walked to. This place was perfect and very comfortable for our needs. Close to great food and wineries as well.

Great location near State at and SB pier. Very well organized accommodations and convenient parking on site so no need to park on street. Nice porch. Was by myself so small size was perfect

Lovely little home base

I loved my stay at baby dux! It’s a lovely property, in a great location and had everything I needed. It’s a tad small, but I knew that and it was more than enough room for a solo traveler. I so appreciated having a kitchen and a porch all to myself during my visit, and slept well on the comfortable bed.

Great stay for a show at the Bowl!

Fantastic little place right by State Street and the Funk Zone. We stayed for 3 nights for a show at the Bowl, and didn't use our car once. The unit is small, cozy, cute, and has almost everything you need. Can't wait to return next time we go to the Bowl!

We had a great time at this property. The unit was cozy and very well kept. The host was very responsive and helpful. The within walking distance to many great restaurants and night life venues. Also, ver close to the harbor. We definitely recommend this property to any of you looking for a getaway in Santa Bárbara.

Great stay here! Such a cute property, cute space. Amazing location, near Dune Coffee, everything on State, and a short walk to my fav bar, Test Pilot (if you love Tiki drinks!). Will def book again. Had a great time.

Gorgeous and Cozy

I had the BEST experience staying at the Baby Dux! My 11 year old son and I spent our short Christmas time together here and it was so fun and cozy in the best way! It is a studio but everything is layed out and organized so well you have everything you need and then some! The kitchen is gorgeous, no stove but with hot plate, crockpot and toaster oven, we made a beautiful Christmas dinner and breakfast both mornings. The location is excellent! We enjoyed the short but scenic walks to the beach and pier, lived wandering around the surrounding neighborhoods and shops. Our host Laura, was so accommodating and communicative and just such a nice person! Made sure we had all we needed! Can't wait to stay here again!

The 3 Dux is named in honor of the family that grew up in the house. The family home has been remodeled and converted to an ApartHotel. Inga grew up in the house with her mother, brother and grandparents who were renters in the house for 30+years before they were able to buy it in 1993. Her grandfather ran a washing machine repair business in the house. He was known to Inga and the kids of the extended family as Papa Duck. A squeaker of ears and teller of tales, he was beloved by all. The 3 DUX are so named in honor of him (Papa Dux, Mama Dux and Baby Dux). One of those kids was her cousin Laura who managed The 3 Dux with all her heart and soul. Inga and Laura have since retired and Laura's daughter, Heather is now managing guest communication and her dear friend, Debbie is the concierge onsite who will be taking care of you.

The new owner, Julietta, with the help of Heather and Debbie continues the legacy with the same high standards of hospitality, kindness, attention to detail and happiness.

I hope you might find some of that Santa Barbara warmth and friendliness at The Dux. State Street is a block away, the Funk Zone is two blocks away and the beach is 5 walking blocks. There is free use of bicycles which I highly recommend as the very best way to enjoy the town. Parking is on-site and the apartments are comfortable and well stocked for your comfort. Tucked between the Santa Ynez Mountains and the Pacific Ocean, Santa Barbara features the best of both worlds when it comes to outdoor adventure. Water lovers can enjoy the beaches and some of the most scenic islands in California just a short boat ride away.
