Looking for a spot for a romantic getaway or a girl’s weekend? Need a family getaway? We’ve got just the place for you.

Campfires, sweatshirts, great views…..it’s what this area is all about. The Guest House is located on a quiet, no wake lake 20 miles East of Traverse City. The house is remodeled and up to date with a beautiful kitchen, deck, lake view, kayaks, a paddle boat and hammocks. When you stay at the Guest House you’re close to wineries, shopping, fabulous restaurants and outdoor activities. Or you can just relax and enjoy the lake, watch for birds, read or catch up on your sleep. While we have internet, we don’t have a t.v. You’ll probably be so engaged in other activities, you won’t notice, but bring your own device just in case. Also, in addition to the dining table, we have a small desk in the room with the bunks, in case you need a quiet space to make a work call. There is a park with a beach area, picnic tables and grills on the other side of the lake.

When you’re here, you’re within day trip distance of Traverse City, the Leelanau Península, Sleeping Bear Dunes, the Mackinac Bridge, Bellaire, Charlevoix, Boyne and more!
Twin Birch, Timber Wolf, and Grandview Golf Courses are close by.

Some of our favorite restaurants nearby are the Fife Lake Inn, Yankee Boy, and Trout Town. Groceries are available in Fife Lake or Kalkaska, and don’t miss the Cherry Street Market for veggies, deli items, baked goods and adorable garden additions.

There’s lots of shopping on Front Street in TC or visit the Grand Traverse Commons (formerly a hospital for the mentally ill). GTC even has night tours of the inner workings of the facility!

Harbor View Nursery and Lavender Farm is nearby and wineries and breweries abound. Our favorite is Amoritas Vinyards on the Leelanau Peninsula.

Check out Tall Ship Manitou for short cruises in the bay.

Nice place to unwind

Amazing place!

We had a wonderful time here. The cabin was incredibly clean and well stocked. It was the perfect place to come back to after a day of exploring the area. Highly recommended!

Top Notch

The cabin is well stocked and has everything we needed for a long weekend. It rained much of the time, however we enjoyed trips to Traverse Bay, Suttons Bay, and Black Star Farms Winery. We will definitely be back!

Perfect Pure Michigan Getaway!

Our family absolutely loved staying at the Guest House. Not only is the cottage immaculate and beautifully decorated, the lake is serene and perfect for using the kayaks and paddle boats that are available. We also enjoyed relaxing on the deck and sitting around the campfire at night. The hosts thought of everything with this little slice of heaven!

Great place!

We really enjoyed our stay at this property. The owners have thought of lots of extras- beach towels, kayaks, hammocks, bug spray, and TOYS! They have lots of toys for kids- both indoor and outdoor, stored in the shed. Very clean. Well organized.

Beautiful and comforting house by Lake Perch

Highly responsive property manager. Every aspect of the rental was clean. Wonderful living space both inside and outside. Lake Perch is a gorgeous and clean spring fed lake that is peaceful.

Perfect Cozy Getaway

My family had a great time. The cabin was very cozy and welcoming. It was stocked with everything you could need and more. We had a blast out on the water and enjoyed a family game night. There was plenty to keep my teens busy. Thank you for a great trip! We are looking forward to coming back soon.

WONDERFUL!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the chalet. So peaceful and relaxing! Lots of thoughtful extras. We loved using the kayaks and pedal boat and sitting on the deck. Just a short distance from Traverse City and Torch lake (we love the Dockside). We would definitely return!

Perfect lake house

This was a perfect family size lake house getaway for all our Michigan day trips! My son enjoyed kayaking on the peaceful lake and my daughter loved reading books and making a fire with dad! I loved that my family and I were able to really get away from the daily routine and enjoy each other’s company before the school year starts! The location of this cabin is also near most tourists attractions but secluded enough to allow for some quality family time, while enjoying the outdoors.

Peace and Quiet

Krystal and Steve are great hosts! The Guest House was nicely decorated, cozy, and had everything you could need or want. It is so nice that they include kayaks and a paddle boat. It is a beautiful setting on a small lake, and we spent a lot of time on the fantastic deck reading and just taking it all in. The kitchen was well stocked, and there was even a spice rack. We were very happy with our week at this place.

Beautiful serene stay!

We loved every minute of being in the cabin and on the lake! The property was the perfect size and offered fine furnishings. Everything you think you need, is already there from spices, to cutlery, cooking utensils and toiletries! We all loved kayaking and paddle boating and enjoyed seeing the turtles swimming next to us. The welcome book with listings for closest grocers and restaurants was a great source. Everything was perfect and we hope to be back again!!

One word…..Perfect!

Our family’s stay at the Guest House was in one word, Perfect! The home is cozy, clean, well appointed with everything you’d need away from home and close enough to great places of interest. After a couple of long days of being out and about exploring, it was nice to get back to a place that was quiet and comfortable to be able to sit on the deck looking at the lake. My husband enjoyed using the paddle boat to fish! A lovely place that I would highly recommend! We’re looking forward to spending another family trip there!

Hidden Gem!

We just loved this little cabin! Everything on the Guest House has been remodeled beautifully. All the linens, fixtures and amenities are top notch. The deck is really big and sturdy, we were out there all the time, the picture windows look right onto the lake. The kayaks and paddle boat were fantastic on the no wake lake. The location is really convenient too, everything you need in a 10 minute range. Traverse city a short half hour away. Highly recommend and would stay again! Truly a great value!

Cherry Festival turned Kayak paradise

Our family traveled from Cleveland, Ohio to attend the Cherry Festival and visit the Sleeping Bear Dunes. This place is the perfect secluded getaway from the busyness that can come along with T.C. , festivals and parks. We enjoyed the lake, the kayaks, the paddle boat, the cleanliness if the place. My children ranging in age from 3, to 16 were never bored. That is almost impossible for a family vacation. The host has done everything to make this cabin cozy and feel like home. Right down to the extra blankets, coffee and toys for littles in the shed. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND -THE WELCH-REYNOLDS FAMILY

Perch Lake stay

I do not think the property should be advertised as “comfortable “ for 4 adults. The downstairs bedroom is good for children but not for adults. I slept in the downstairs bedroom. I’m really sorry, the ladder broke. Two screws came out. I weigh less than 150 pounds. To sleep on the bottom is claustrophobic. That is my complaint. Otherwise the property is wonderful. I loved it there…very calming and all forms of using the lake are available. I believe you have a kitten living under your shed. She seemed needy. I’m not sure who is feeding her/him.

Just Like Mary Poppins- Practically Perfect!

My family and I just returned home from a five-day stay at this beautifully furnished and appointed property. You can enjoy the pictures, but you MUST see this in person to truly appreciate what you're getting. It's well maintained, beautifully renovated, and located perfectly on Perch Lake. From the various coffees and teas to the towels and soaps, from the bed linens to the furniture, as a guest, you are spoiled to the 'nth degree! You are EASY trips away from Traverse City (you literally turn onto the main road from the cabin and simply drive), Glen Arbor, Mackinaw City, Cheboygan, and Empire.... we couldn't have been more pleased with the location. Our kids loved the lake and pier and REALLY enjoyed the kayaks and the pedal boat. The ONLY drawback for us, as a family of five, is that the space inside was a bit tight. We managed just fine, but with a 22-year-old, an 18-year-old, and a 15-year-old, being that close started to wear on them a bit. :) Krystal answered EVERY SINGLE QUESTION I sent her way punctually and professionally, and even checked in mid-stay to make sure all was ok. OOOOoh, I almost forgot- we were greeted with a jar of HOMEMADE Blueberry Jam which our children thoroughly enjoyed each morning for breakfast. Please consider this property for your next stay!

Perfect Private Get away

This property was perfect for our short stay. Everything you need for a simple, relaxing experience is there for you. Very clean, excellent directions for use of heating/cooling/internet access. Loved the front yard native plants and chocolate scented mulch!

Krystal är värd

We moved to Northern Michigan to a house we'd owned but only used as a vacation home during the pandemic. It's very small, so we decided to buy another house nearby to use when our friends and family come to visit. We're both retired. Steve worked in engineering in the auto industry, and Krystal was a teacher.

Varför värden valde detta boende

We love this little house with its' wood ceiling and A-frame construction. The views are superb and you can hear the birds all day long!
