We provided sketch books, drawing supplies, watercolor paints and a sweet little North Facing Art Studio with Awesome Views to indulge your inspired creative expression!  This Cabin is, and always has been, a location of Meditation and Silent Retreat.

At over 8000' altitude, there are cool mountain breezes, a ceiling fan in the main room, portable fan in the bedroom, and recently added designer window treatments that create shade, from the passive solar windows, for your continuous comfort!

Guests will enjoy cooking in the cozy kitchen that is well stocked to cook your own delectable cuisine. Dining can be enjoyed inside with spectacular views out the living room windows, or enjoyed on the screened porch, where you can see the valley and the majestic mountains as well. The cabin also includes laundry facilities, WIFI connection, a small Streaming TV, and the front room desk for your computer workspace. The master bedroom offers a restful night's sleep on the queen bed, and in the morning, open the bedroom window shade to the view of Challenger Mountain! The adjoining full bathroom has all the basic amenities of soaps, shampoos, towels, and hair dryer. You can bring a friend or loved one as we also offer a fold out couch in the main living area.
Enjoying the outdoors is easy with the multiple outdoor seating areas, a large, screened porch, and even hiking trails close by. Enjoy the amazing mountain range that includes 4 Fourteeners, multiple hiking trails, 3 nearby Hot Springs locations, the interesting town of Crestone, and of course the Beautiful Sand Dunes National Park.

Explore the beautiful San Luis Valley's expansive mountain views, Sand Dunes National Park, elegant SandHill Cranes, dark night skies for stargazing, and be on the lookout for UFOS.  Many stories of sightings are heard and shared around Crestone! The UFO Center is on the way to Hooper, going south on 17.  There are many local hiking trails near the cabin, some folks suggest the North Crestone Trailhead, Willow Lake is a great day hike, and the Creekside trails along the greenbelts in the Baca Grande Subdivision are spectacular and lush. The Quiet Retreat Cabin is a great place for outdoor enthusiasts and folks looking for a peaceful mountain getaway.

Crestone Colorado is in the middle of the San Luis Valley. There is very limited public transportation in the area. We recommend Four Wheel Drive, or at least- All Wheel Drive if you are looking to come and stay during the Winter Season.

Colorado is a unique and diverse high desert mountain town in South Central Colorado. Crestone town and the surrounding Baca Grande community is home to some three thousand people; a small and active community of artists, healers, travelers, nuns, monks and missionaries seeking to create a spiritually fulfilling and abundant life together. The Crestone Community is full of churches, monasteries, shrines and temples attracting people from around the globe to come and explore spirituality and find healing and retreat.

The San Luis Valley is a vast beautiful valley floor looking out 360 degrees across fourteen-thousand-foot peaks. Take a day trip and explore the San Luis Valley, you’ll find The Great Sand Dunes National Park, Natural Hot Spring Swimming Pools and The Colorado Gator Farm all sprinkled amongst unique small towns in rural Colorado.
Activities and Shopping in Crestone
Crestone is a beautiful small town with some really unique and amazing locally owned stores and businesses. Local people feel grateful to have so many great places to shop and dine right in our small town. There are two small locally owned grocers, where you can find top of the line health food, vitamins and organic whole food. Enjoy dining in one of the locally owned cafes or restaurants and support the local artisans at one of the galleries or gift shops. We love our local thrift stores, so many hidden treasures can be found!
Wildlife and Outdoor Recreation
Crestone is situated at the base of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, boasting several fourteen-thousand-foot peaks and pristine alpine lakes for outdoor hiking, camping and fishing. The wildlife refuges and protected forests create incredible opportunities to come close to nature and truly experience the wildlife. Great for bird watching, photography, art, hiking, biking and camping. There are so many ways to appreciate and explore nature around Crestone.
