Double Happiness welcomes you to a beach retreat of your very own! Enter on the main level to a large entry mudroom with a full bath with a shower. Drop your beach gear here and walk into the wide open and airy kitchen-living-dining area. Cathedral ceilings and lovely wood floors with lots of windows invite you to take a deep breath and relax. This might be where you practice your morning yoga‚Äîor sip a beverage while curled up on the comfy furniture. The fully equipped kitchen opens onto a south-side deck/patio where you can take your morning coffee and gaze out at the huge evergreens while you relax and figure out your adventure for the day.

Gather in the afternoon and have a BBQ with your friends and family or take a walk down the steps to the firepit and enjoy S'mores and a campfire. Back inside, an open stairwell takes you upstairs to an open sleeping loft that overlooks the living room. It is spacious and L-shaped with a comfortable bed and futon. The same open stairwell takes you downstairs to the main bedroom and bath with a tub (no shower). You'll find the laundry room and an outdoor entry down here too. You have a choice: The open carport on the entry level will keep things dry or the enclosed garage on the main bedroom level will keep things dry and secure. Your car can pull right up to either one of them.

This is strictly a non-dog home and there are no exceptions. However, we cannot guarantee that a dog has not been in this house.
This home will have a seasonal gas grill that is generally available from May through September, depending on inclement weather.

Parking notes: There is free parking available for 2 vehicles.

Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit.

Easy and Enjoyable

We had a delightful time.The wood stove was a great added bonus (as it’s not really advertised).The two chairs overlooking the trees, ocean and humming bird bushes is really the cherry on top.Checkout is at 10:00 a.m.which is a bummer, and any communication I had with the “property management” seemed like it was AI and was pretty not helpful as bots tend to not be. Other than that - lovely. I wish I was still there this very moment.

Wonderful coastal escape!

We loved our time in Manzanita!!! Great house. The views from big windows, deck and fire pit cannot be beat!!! Very clean and comfortable stay!! Highly recommend for family vacation!

This beach home was perfect for our weekend getaway. It is just as advertised and located in a quiet neighborhood with a pleasing view of the ocean through the trees. We highly recommend it for its comfort and charm.

Wonderful home

This is such a peaceful, comfortable home! We loved watching the sky grow pink over the ocean as the sun was setting. The new kitchen appliances and shower are great, too!

Lovely house, lovely view

This house is really great - it's cute, feels secluded, is close to downtown Manzanita and has a great view of the ocean (15 min walk, 4 min drive). It's not beachfront, but we weren't looking for that. We only used the downstairs bed, but it was perfectly comfortable and we enjoyed watching tv using the streaming services (the tv is smaller than we like personally, but is big enough). Although we only cooked breakfast, we were happy with the way the kitchen was stocked - both in pantry staples and in pots/pans/dishware/etc. We would definitely stay here again.

A nice break...

The house is beautiful, 10 min from the main street and 5 minutes from the ocean - by foot. The only down side is that we couldn't watch TV, as the kids were sleeping upstairs - but we weren't there for the television.

Nice little house in a beautiful setting

We loved our stay at double happiness. The house is light and bright with a nice open feel. It’s tucked up in a quiet corner of manzanita and was very peaceful. There’s a beautiful view of the ocean from the living room and yard. The kitchen is small but worked great and was well stocked with everything we needed. The bathrooms are okay. The master only had a tub with hand held showerhead. The upstairs bath is tiny! But the shower in that bath was nice.

Quiet and Peaceful Setting

The kitchen has everything you need in terms of cooking utensils, pots and pans, etc. The bed in the master bedroom is exceptionally comfortable. We didn't like the bathtub with its wand shower. Water goes everywhere. It isn't a good design in our opinion. If you want to use the grill bring your own matches. The built in igniter doesn't work. We had a very relaxing time in a very quiet setting. There is an excellent view of the beach out of the picture window. The house is located about a 5 minute drive from the beach.

Perfect Location

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our week at Double Happiness was a much needed break from it all. The house was well taken care of and well stocked with games, bedding, etc. The peek-a-boo view of the ocean through the trees was a wonderful sight to take in and definitely added to the overall experience of our stay. Manzanita is a lovely town that we enjoyed exploring. While the kids were ecstatic about the candy shop. Although the walk down to the beach was quite steep, we didn't find it bothersome. When we took all the family down we drove down to the beach (plenty of parking all along the way). Manzanita Beach was perfect to explore. Tide pools at low tide were a highlight. We enjoyed hikes in nearby Oswald West State Park and Hug Point. The only caution I would render is the stairs of the rental. They were quite slippery and you would need to make sure that those prone to falling are very aware of this. Never wear socks on the stairs! My 7 year old took a bit of a tumble, but luckily kids are rather resilient.

Surprisingly Disappointing

It has a million dollar ocean view and solid bones, but either the owners and / or vacation rental company have scrimped so much on the things that actually impact your stay to the point where it significantly negatively impacts the experience. Given the price per night, I expected beds with comfortable mattresses, for there to be real beds and not squeaky old futons, and for the kitchen to have functional more modern appliances. On our first day there the old fridge didn’t work, causing some of the food we brought to need to be thrown away to avoid food poisoning. The rental company was kind and responsive in bringing out a mini fridge, but this could be fixed long term by investing in upgrading failing elements of the kitchen (a new fridge of this quality costs $400– a small fraction of the cost of my 4 night stay). They gave us not enough toilet paper for our stay, and it was truly the cheapest brand out there. It reminded me of staying at a $15/night hostel in Mexico. Additionally, it’s not safe for kids under 8 or so since it has wall heaters that get hot and cannot be touched. One of the two rooms is a loft that pictures well but it means that whoever is sleeping up there cannot go to bed until everyone else is ready to go to sleep and turn out the lights. Lastly, the contract they sent said absolutely no dogs so I spent hundreds on boarding my dog only to arrive at a house that had a sign inside saying it was pet friendly.

In die Jahre gekommen !!

Wir haben uns leider nicht so wohl gefühlt. Sehr schön fanden wir die obere Etage. Wir haben sehr gut geschlafen. Aber alles andere ist in die Jahre gekommen. Leider kann man auch nicht gemütlich draußen sitzen. Wir würden dort nicht mehr übernachten.

Amazing views from a comfortable perch

The views from this house were to die for. We were still able to walk into town or to beach quite often. This home has very comfortable beds and soft towels. Many household things included and we were quite grateful for them. We will definitely choose this home again.

I really wanted to like this place… I carefully read all the reviews and was excited to stay at this gem. However, the posting makes it sound like you are very close to the beach with great views. In reality, it is located quite a way from the beach. You do have some views of the beach far off, but it is not close by any means. The king bed downstairs really, really needs a new mattress. It felt like sleeping in a boat. Problem with keyless check-in: when we arrived, the code we were given did not work, two other codes did not work either. We finally got in after two calls to Vacasa. The next day, the code expired again, and we were once again locked out. They advertise a wood oven, however, there were no fire starters or directions how to use it. A call to Vacasa did not help either. And finally, there is a coffee maker, but no coffee… this is the first time we stayed in a place that does not provide coffee to go with the coffee maker. During our two night stay, we had to call Vacasa 4 times. It should not be this hard to rent a place!

Very comfortable home in great location!

Home was very clean, comfortable, bright and in a quiet location!! Partial views of the ocean through the trees. Location is great and close to Main Street and the beach. FYI - Check in process is not traditional lock box or keypad and you have to pick up keys at the leasing office which was inconvenient and not well communicated.
