Just 5 minutes outside the world famous alpine village of Helen, Ga. this private chalet is adjacent to a 22 acre lake with a picturesqueness mountain view. This home is perfect for spending romantic nights beside the fire pit, fishing with the guys, a girls vineyard getaway, or a fun-filled family weekend. Perfect for small groups of people interested in a nice place to fish, hike or just hanging out. Take the kids to the local water park, putt putt golfing, or mining for gemstones. Private, 22 acre lake, is stocked with large mouth bass, brim, crappie, and trout. Amazing for kayaking, swimming, or just resting in the hammock overlooking the serene lake and stunning views of Mt. Yonah. With the many historical sites in the area, state parks, numerous shopping sites, and kid friendly attractions, our mountain home is sure to become your favorite mountain destination.

Great stay

The house was wonderful! Very clean, well stocked, great location to Helen’s downtown. Communication with the owners was great, they are very nice. My son really enjoyed fishing!!

Perfect!

Such a lovely home with the perfect view. The home was immaculate, very clean and very comfortable, beautiful home. My husband and I both said it never felt like we were in a vacation rental, it felt like we were at home, that’s the level of comfort and sweetness this home brings.House had everything we needed. Perfect location, only about five minutes to Helen. Very quiet and peaceful area. Loved sitting outside and watching/listening to the birds on the lake. Nita was wonderful with communication. We can’t recommend this vacation rental enough.

Weekend getaway

Beautiful home located right on the water. Had a great time taking the job boat out and catchin some bass. This was a perfect place for my fiancé and I to take a quick weekend getaway to reset. Loved it!

The property and location was great. Beautiful set up but unfortunately the lake ended up freezing so I couldn’t fish. Will book again in the summer or fall :)

Beautiful views and Lake House vibes

Enjoyed this beautiful and very well maintained and decorated home. Very relaxing atmosphere and property. We very much enjoyed the views and lake house vibes. First time using VRBO and excited to have found such a beautiful place to stay while exploring the beautiful Christmas towns of Helen and Dahlogena.

Absolutely perfect!

Beautiful getaway

We absolutely loved this place! We used it for our micro wedding and it was amazing, everything I could have asked for with the beautiful views of the mountain and lake. Everyone enjoyed fishing and hanging out on the patio around the fire pit. We will definitely come back!

We definitely enjoyed our stay again just like last summer! We had so much fun on the kayaks, fishing, sitting by the fire pit, making smores, getting in the hot tub, and family time together. We will be back next year!!

Wonderful! But some things I wish I had known...

First and foremost, we had a wonderful time. The property is gorgeous and is at a central location to conveniently visit all NE Georgia has to offer. We went on many waterfalls hikes, tubing, trout fishing, peach picking, and spent many hours fishing off the back patio. The house is tastefully decorated and roomy enough for my husband and I and our four young children. We all had a wonderful time!!! These are a few things I wish I had known. 1. The house is located right on a main and very busy road. The road noise is constant even through the night. This did detract quite a bit from the ability to relax and feel like you're "away from it all." 2. The kitchen, while gorgeous and filled with beautiful appliances, is stocked with the absolute lowest quality pots, pans, and accessories. It really made the cooking experience miserable. It was that bad!!! If you plan on cooking, you'll also need to bring any and all spices/oils/staples you'll need including salt and pepper. 3. There is a picture showing a "children's area" with kids sitting on a cabbage patch throne. There is no children's area in the house so maybe the picture label should be changed. The house has no board games, video games, or anything else to entertain kids so if you're planning a stay make sure you bring something in case it's rainy! To be fair, there is a lot for kids to do outside though! As mentioned, we did have a great time! The owner was very sweet, helpful, and a great communicator.

Excellent Lake Trip

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The lake was amazing. The fishing was spectacular! The availability of the kayaks, paddleboards, boat, and tubes made the trip. We spent most of our time on the water. The house was very nice and comfortable and included everything we needed. Our only negative was it being on such a busy road. However, having said that...everything listed above outweighed it. We can definitely see ourselves staying here again.

Fabulous

We did not want to leave. The property just takes your breath away. Kids (7,14 & 15) enjoyed fishing whenever we were 'home'. We used the kayaks, the fire pit for s'mores. Mornings are beautiful with coffee looking out over the lake and the stunning Yonah Mountain. Property is very close to Helen and all the commercial attractions which the family also enjoyed. It is just a great place to return to after to fully relax and unwind. Interior is lovely, beds are comfortable too. We are already talking about when we can go back.

Fisherman Paradise

Overall stay was good .Very nice and clean inside ,nice beds and lots of extra towels !! Had lot of fun fishing. but spider webs were on out side seatings and was dusty .

Our family built this home in the early 80’s for the purpose of entraining the folks in the community. We have had numerous fishing events on the property . When the property was sold in 2019 my husband and I decided to purchase the chalet from the developer in order to preserve a small piece of our family’s history. After retiring from both the military and being a private business owner , we decided to remodel the home and let everyone enjoy a precious part of our history.
