Adorable cedar shingled post & beam house ready and waiting for you on the Oceanside in Wellfleet, Cape Cod.

Over 1,000 square feet of crystal clean space - Sleeps 4, Queen Bed and 2 Twins upstairs. Our Cottage has a full kitchen, bathroom and living room plus a beautiful bonus 3-season room with vaulted ceilings and a queen sofa pull out. This lovely room provides a great respite, enjoy the crosswinds and the view of the magical forest. The house has comfortable beds, fixtures, stocked kitchen and everything you need to relax and have fun.1.9 mile to Cahoon Hollow Beach and 1.5 miles to Great Pond.

This Cottage is a perfect retreat for a romantic getaway, perfect for a young family/couple with 2 children, writer's getaway to focus on crafting that novel or retirees who seek quiet, peace and calm.

Rare opportunity to experience Wellfleet and enjoy all that this gem of a town offers - the ocean, the ponds, wonderful art galleries, awesome food, entertainment and incredible days filled with sun, surf and relaxation.

Wonderful centralized location - easy access to Wellfleet's best beaches and freshwater ponds. Located two miles from the Atlantic Ocean and one mile from Cape Cod Bay. Enjoy a short walk to Dyer Pond, a secluded kettle pond. Great Pond is 1.5 mile and Cahoon Hollow Beach is 1.9 miles, just a bike ride away. Just a short walk into town to Wellfleet Center via Pine Point Road over to Uncle Tim's Bridge. Central location gives great access to ocean, ponds, bay and bike paths.

Wellfleet is a small village on Cape Cod known for its many art galleries and beautiful beaches. The beaches and glacial freshwater ponds are part of the Cape Cod National Seashore. In addition, there is a natural harbor in Wellfleet where boats can be rented and sports fishing is available. The town has many fine restaurants and there are two summer actors theaters and a very active arts community. Another wonderful attraction is the Wellfleet Drive-In Theater which has been entertaining six generations of summer visitors.

The Nuts and Bolts:
Cleaning: The Cottage will be cleaned and inspected after your departure. Simple things like leaving the property tidy, running the dishwasher and taking out the trash are expected of our guests.

* 7 night rental minimum during peak season July & August

* Quiet hours after 10 PM
* As Customary in Wellfleet, please bring your own linens (bed sheets and towels) or contact 'The Furies' in Wellfleet, MA for Linen Rentals.

We provide pillows, quilts, mattress pads, and blankets. Due to Covid we ask that you bring linens for one queen and 2 twin beds. (Must bring bed sheets, towels and your beach towels or can be rented in town.)
* Guests must be over the age of 25 and be an occupant of the unit during the entire reserved period.
* No parties or excessive noise.
* No smoking is allowed in or around any property.

Great house in Welfleet

Was a great house close to the pond and the beach. The house owner was very kind and answered questions we had while we were there very quickly and respectfully. Overall an amazing place to stay to enjoy the summer on vacation.

Great Place, Great Stay

We had a wonderful time during our stay. The cottage was comfortable for my family of three. It was perfectly located with a feeling of seclusion but also close to all the restaurants/shops/beaches. I would highly recommend this location to a family looking for a quiet getaway while still be close to all the popular spots Wellfleet has to offer!

Fantastic location. Incredibly clean (absolutely spotless) and as cute and comfortable as can be.

We really enjoyed our stay and had a great experience at this gem of a cottage. Clean, thoughtfully appointed and a quiet getaway tucked next to the Cape Cod National Seashore. Highly recommend!

Great retreat

We loved this cottage. It was clean, quiet, and in a perfect location (close to the beaches and downtown Wellfleet restaurants). The owner (Mary Ellen) was also very helpful in answering our questions, etc. Miss the beaches already!

We absolutely love the post and beam cottage. The place is spotless and has everything you need.

We had such a wonderful stay. The cottage has a beautiful yard which is the perfect place to relax and listen to the birds. The owner is so nice and very welcoming. The location is perfect in getting to the beach or the restaurants on rte 6. We will definitely be back next year.

Perfect little cottage

My husband and I absolutely loved our stay at this lovely little cottage. So many qualities make it stand out: the charming decor, relaxing front porch, central location, and wonderfully attentive owner. We got home today and are already looking at our calendars for a return visit!

Charming wellfleet cottage

We loved the cottage. It was spotless!!! The house is so cozy and accommodating. They even had beach chairs for us to use. Private enough to feel like you've escaped, but close enough to everything. Enjoy.

Clean & cozy cottage in the perfect location

This little cottage was sparkling clean & wonderfully stocked, and made for a lovely getaway in Wellfleet. Our family of four fit nicely into the space. Mary Ellen was very responsive and helpful, and made sure we applied for our beach parking pass in time!

Absolutely the best place we have found on VRBO.

We have stayed at many VRBO properties in Florida and the Cape. This was perfect for me and my husband..loved the close drive to the beaches and everything we cared about was so close. Cottage was just great. Clean, comfortable and well appointed. Can't say enough about the place. Already booked for fall of 2018!

Perfect home with everything you will ever need!

This house is so cute and has everything you could possibly need. It's central to everything in Wellfleet - downtown, the beach, the beachcomber :), and the pond. I can't wait to come back next year. The owner is super sweet, responsive and very helpful. Thank you!

Delightful

Our stay was absolutely delightful. The cottage was clean, Mary Ellen was prompt to reply and very helpful with any questions that we had. The location was perfect-close to Great Pond which was just magnificent and perfect for our two boys, to town, and to the bayside and ocean beaches. The cottage is small but has everything we needed. We especially enjoyed reading and playing games in the three season room, and the coziness of the loft bedroom. We can’t wait to be back!

What a cute place!

We so enjoyed our vacay in this wonderful, well-appointed Cape cottage, it is newer and clean and has everything you need. Higher quality furnishings than one normally sees in a rental cotttage. I’ve often joked that rental cottages are where old, mismatched furniture goes to die, but not here! Lives larger than it’s compact square footage; it’s flexible floor plan met our needs very well. Other reviews are correct, the owner is indeed responsive and friendly. Would definitely rent this again.

Great stay!

Mary Ellen was very accommodating and readily available to address any questions we had. This place was extremely clean! I have allergies and nothing there bothered me at all. The location to downtown Wellfleet was perfect, distance to Newcomb beach was nice, bout 5 to 10 minutes. We saw many seals, kids thought that was pretty cool, and so did I. Places we enjoyed to eat were the BOL for breakfast, great smoothie type breakfast, little pricey but worth it. The Pearl restaurant was amazing! Also, people in the neighborhood actually knew Mary Ellen so it was kind of like being welcomed by a family who was well known in the community. Great stay, look forward to going back!

Delightful

This was our second year staying at the summer cottage. It is a charming post and beam with everything we need for a week with our two boys. The house is clean, cozy, and tucked away in a quiet wooded area with a few other homes. I especially love reading in the three season room. We love the location, close to the ponds, town, and convenient to get to all that Wellfleet has to offer. Mary Ellen is kind and helpful, checking in to make sure we arrived and that check in was smooth, and also letting us know about events in town or new restaurants we should check out. We can’t recommend the summer cottage enough and look forward to coming back!

Welcome to Heaven

Back for our third stay at the Post and Beam Cottage and again, we felt welcomed back by Mary Ellen with open arms (literally) and a bottle of wine in the fridge for us! We LOVE it here and will stay for a week every June and look forward to coming back. It is a piece of heaven on earth. There is just something about Wellfleet and this magical cottage. If I could clone it, I would! :) But since I can't do that, I just take comfort in knowing for a week in June I will be back to the best place on earth. Can't wait to come back!!

Super space; Super location

Lovely, super clean cottage, close to everything you want in Wellfleet. This stay was my summer get-away. Everyday started with breakfast on the front porch, then packed lunch and headed to a new Wellfleet beach til early afternoon, stopped for a dip in a pond on the way home. Napping, reading. Walk to ice cream and quick drive to downtown Wellfleet food, entertainment, shopping and sunsets. The cottage has everything you want. My grown daughters came for 2 nights and everyone loved it. We used all of the beds upstairs and the pull out couch downstairs. All get an A+. A friend came for a night and we enjoyed a great thunderstorm from the front porch, walked in the cypress forest and the beach, swam, ate and just chilled. Great place to unplug.

Great location and nice cottage

Nicely appointed cottage in a great location. A few things to consider : - The bedrooms are on the top floor, and the bathroom is on the bottom floor. - queen bed can be difficult to navigate for tall guests (>6’) given the slanted ceilings - indoor shower was unusable, and when I informed the host, she appreciated the heads up and promised to rectify the situation immediately - outdoor shower is decent - the backyard space with a table/chairs isn’t a compelling place to spend time - 3 season porch is lovely - we didn’t need the mini-splits to cool the place. We opened the windows, which gave us a nice, fresh breeze - host was interested and engaged with us. - the cottage is right next to the host’s home. She greeted us when we arrived. Overall, we had a nice stay.
