Efter att ha blivit ledig sedan 1992 behöll detta ca 1790-1810 historiskt hus mirakulöst de allra flesta av sina ursprungliga detaljer! Det ursprungliga trapphuset, hjärtatornets golv, dörrar och hårdvaror, fönster, pärlstavsskärmar, eldstäder mantlar, etc., etc. Luxury Living Savannahs noggranna restaurering genomfördes av strikta riktlinjer som utarbetats av Department of Natural Resource i Washington D. C. Dessa riktlinjer följdes för att rädda den historiska integritet i hemmet och dess betydelsefulla bidrag till Savannah Landmark Historic District. Luxury Living Savannah och Washington Square House vann det eftertraktade "Historic Savannah Foundation Preservation Award" för sin anmärkningsvärda restaurering.

Ingen kostnad sparades under perioden korrekt modernisering av denna historiska egendom. Fullt utrustat gourmet kök med ö sittplatser för 3 personer ligger bredvid den formella matsalen som kan sitta upp till 8 middagar. Vardagsrummet har en stor smart TV för gruppunderhållning med historiskt påverkad inredning. Den avslappnade Sun Room har utsikt över den lugna innergården och fontänen för att njuta av uteservering och avkoppling. De 4 sovrummen har alla eget badrum, rymliga badrum!

Excellent location to everything in Savannah. The house is decorated in the best way and all the rooms have their own bathroom which made it very convenient when everyone was getting ready. Sitting areas were very nice as well.

The location of the house just couldn't be beat. We were able to walk everywhere and the neighborhood felt safe. The house itself was beautiful, very clean, and gave our group of four women enough room to have our own spaces but then congregate in the living room for fun and laughs. The host was very responsive to any questions we had. We are hoping to come back and stay again!

This is a beautiful, historical home in the heart of everything Savannah has to offer. The house is immaculate and provides comfy beds and all the amenities you could ask for. Everything is walkable from its location. We fully enjoyed our stay in the home.

We had a wonderful stay at this property. The historical charm of the home was perfect for the atmosphere we were looking for. We specifically selected this property because it offered an enclosed garage space, which made us feel much safer about coming to the property at night and about the car's security. The Washington Square neighborhood was lovely and quiet, which was a surprise since it is so very close to the river, Broughton Street, etc. The house is very convenient to most places you'd like to go in downtown Savannah historic district--making walking a definite option. The house is self was lovely and immaculately clean. The beds were very comfortable. It was probably the most comfortable bed I've experienced in a short term rental. I highly recommend. Personally, I would definitely recommend adding insurance if you have rambunctious children or teens. There are several delicate items in the house. Definitely recommended for quiet stays in a historical home in an excellent neighborhood. Great for lovers of history!

We like to return

Words cannot explain how perfect this house was for our family. The house is cute, clean, and comfortable. The surroundings are breath taking and peaceful. To top it off, the owner is more than accommodating and welcoming. We would highly recommend it, and hope to stay there again!

House was perfect for a college reunion group of 8 women. We walked everywhere in town from the house. Great historic property with modern features. We loved the courtyard! Message to host was promptly returned and question answered. Would recommend!

Great Historical Home

A great space for our family of 6. Loved the quirks and beauty of the home. Grateful for the space to park in the garage, well equipped kitchen (for our needs), dining space, seating for all of us in the living room, and it was exceptionally clean. We walked EVERYWHERE! Great restaurants and historical sites nearby and close to the river. We are a family of walkers, so this was perfect. The only down side - the bath in the room with the king bed has NO storage (other than the edge around the tub and an 18” shelf) and minimal convenient storage in the bedroom. It was our room, and we made do. Despite this, we would stay again.

If you have more than one car you need to pay for street parking (big hassle if you have more than 1 car). The bathroom had 1 face and 1 bath soap - a huge problem if you have many people in the house. They should put soap/shampoo in each bath stall. They should put a hair dryer in each bathroom (only one hair dryer was not of good quality). Kitchen needs basic supplies - oil, sugar etc. They had one coffee for one day and we were 7 people for 3 days. We needed 7 beds - 2 beds are in living room and they were a little small. Checkout is at 10PM and we got it extended to 11 (which was still a bit inconvenient but I can understand)

We were somewhat surprised with your review. Our garage parking for 1 car is clearly outlined in all correspondence and information on the website. We even give you instructions on how to obtain a parking pass from the visitors center if you have several cars. Parking of any kind in the historic district is a rarity. So the fact that we offer garage parking for 1 car is a huge bonus. The house is a 4 bedroom house. It has 5 beds. This is how it is advertised. WE do offer a trundle bed if guests are happy with that arrangement. If you needed more beds you should have also booked the 2 bedroom carriage house on the property that was available for booking. Again, you knew this prior to booking the property. We provide all guests a letter prior to their arrival outlining all of the supplies and amenities we provide so they will know what to bring. Again, this should not be a surprise. There are 4 hair dryers at the property.

Rating Details: The property manager was very unhelpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Ellie, the head of guest services, verbatim said in an email she sent me, “we wish that you never stayed with us”. As not only a guest but a professional in the hospitality and services industry, I am APPALLED and disturbed to have paid as much as I did to have such condescending, patronizing behavior from the head of guest services herself. If you can find ANYWHERE else to stay, do it. The entire weekend was such a headache, I received six calls from Ellie in the matter of 10 minutes, she was extremely rude both on the phone and in person, and threatened to charge my card on file for “wasting the housekeepers time” though she started cleaning at the time of checkout. I used to live in Savannah, I am extremely accustomed to southern living, hospitality, the whole nine yards. We had an amazing time, the house was beautiful but this experience with the service completely tarnished our trip and the reputation of “luxury southern living”. Y’all, no property is worth the experience I went through with these owners.

Seldom in the span of our nearly 20 years in the luxury vacation rental business have we hosted a group with such total disrespect for our historic property and our accommodating staff. These guests came for nothing other than to party all day and night. We had to call them many times over the course of their stay because they were parking in our other guests garage parking spot, and their rowdy drinking and nasty behavior was a problem in our upscale, quiet neighborhood. They refused to leave at the required check out time. When our housekeepers arrived to clean, they were still in bed and still drunk. They left vomit all over the bathrooms, clogged the toilets and left broken beer bottles in our courtyard were just a few of the nasty issues we had to deal with. They took the house keys and refused to return them, so we had to change the locks to the house. We will not rent to these guests again and offer caution to other hosts they seek to rent from.

Not baby/toddler friendly

Nice property, just not ideal for little kids. Beautiful weather, able to utilize the courtyard to play. It’s a “grown up” house. Decorated nicely, with large furniture and lovely (breakable) decor. Glad we were out and about most of the weekend. Didn’t enjoy the neighborhood noise- cars playing loud music, motorcycle engines revving; typical city sounds, however, the walls are not very sound proof. The original staircase is lovely but makes a ton of noise , while using, when the whole house is sleeping. Lastly, had a jolting incident with other tenants. After being on the property for a few hours , cleaning up after dinner, tenants of the “Carriage House” walked right into the front door insisting they were the rightful tenants of the main house. It almost got heated and took me quite a while to explain they had rented the “apartment above the garage”, which the owner described as a “Carriage House”. Spoke with the owner after explaining the situation. The owner uses the address of the main house for dir renting the 2 bed apartment. My advice- please refer to that property as “apartment above garage” rather than “Carriage House”. This whole situation would have been avoided if these tenants understood the correct description of the 2 bed property they rented.

Thank you for your thoughts, Catherine. There isn't much that we can control about city noise (this is located in the heart of a city). We also can't control squeaky stairs or doors or add acoustics to an historic home. The guests who mistakenly entered the home and not read our very specific instructions. We ask guests to find the Main House address first, then we give specific instructions from there to find the Carriage House. These people did not read it. Also, your door was unlocked which allowed them to walk in. Future guests: please thoroughly read the check in info we email and keep doors locked at all times.

Weekend Getaway

Five ladies from Richmond traveled down to enjoy the sights and food of Savannah. This home is in a great location for walking around the historic district. Lovely period decorations and well appointed kitchen and baths. Nice courtyard (would recommend string lights).

Great house for an unforgettable weekend!

We had a girls trip with 8 of us. Everyone flew in and one drove, she was able to park in the garage. We didn’t need to use the car once though, we could walk or take a quick Uber anywhere we needed to go. The house was beautiful, comfy beds, great AC glow and be try nice bathroom setup for 8 women. We had a blast. Our only challenge was the key lockbox at the front door. A few girls had trouble closing it but I think that was more user error. Otherwise, zero complaints! Amazing house and amazing trip!!
