Things I loved about this place:Sitting on the deck looking out at the ocean listening to the waves in the morning having coffee and in the evening having wine!Easy access to shopping and restaurants. The home was beautiful and very clean and had all the comforts of home. We have family that live in the area and this will be our place to stay in future visits!

A late review but we had a WONDERFUL stay! Everything was exactly as described and even better, especially the view!! San Clemente is one of our favorite places to visit with our kids and we come every summer. Host was extremely nice and accommodating! We will DEFINITELY be back next summer!

Therapy for the soul!!!! This was everything I needed to reset. My family and I had a lovely stay with Jim and Dianna!!! They are absolutely amazing hosts, communicative, and helpful in every way! I can’t say enough good things about the space:) would gladly return in a heartbeat!

This rental was outstanding in every way! When we first walked in, the view was breathtaking, the apartment was spotless and the hosts were available to answer any questions. Everything we could possibly need in a vacation rental was supplied. The hosts, Dianna and Jim are lovely people...close by to help, but unobtrusive. We totally enjoyed our interactions with them. The bed was comfortable, parking in the garage was secure, the kitchen was well-supplied, the furnishings were tasteful and the apartment was recently totally renovated and beautiful. We are looking forward to returning to this dream rental! Thank you Dianna and Jim!

The home was lovely, well equipped and perfectly located. We enjoyed the ocean views and the tooting train below. The host showed us the secret shortcuts to reach the pier and made us feel very welcome in Casa Sophia. Highly recommended!

This place is incredible. From the moment you walk in you are struck by the expansive view, the susurrus of the surf, and the sparkling clean living spaces that were so delightfully and tastefully decorated with many nautical touches.Plus:- quality supplies (napkins, paper towels, etc)- close to everything (Old Town, the Pier, beaches, etc)- immaculately clean (windows sparkle, counters gleam)- newly remodeled (high quality appliances)Dianna and Jim, our two hosts, were all you could ask for and more! Communication was prompt, accurate and informative.We can’t wait to return to this lovely retreat!

We had a lovely stay at this property. It was a quiet and peaceful retreat, which was exactly what we needed! The hosts are responsive and truly care about their property. So relaxing and beautiful

We had a fantastic time. I can see why this property is so well-liked. The location with ocean views & sounds can’t be beaten; the space is adorable, spotless & so comfortable; the owners are attentive to details & easy to communicate with; and the surrounding neighbors are welcoming! We loved this experience thoroughly.

Heaven at the beach!! We stayed for 10 days and it was perfect. Everything we needed, incredibly clean, beautifully furnished and decorated. We were fortunate enough to meet our hosts when we had a teeny issue that was fixed immediately. Dianna and Jim are a great couple with so many suggestions about the area and always available for a recommendation. The view beats any view at any restaurant, so we ended up mostly eating meals in on the deck, enjoying the waves and the ocasional surfer. We found it very easy to walk to San Clemente Beach, to the pier for dinner or drinks and to the center of town - don't miss the Farmers Market on Sunday morning. Be adventurous and take a day trip to Crystal Cove - we could never describe the incredible beach with looming bluffs and vintage cottages and do it justice. Or just hang out in the apartment and soak in the sun and the views!!

Incredible views from bedrooms and lower patio

I so enjoyed my 3+ weeks at Casa de Sophia! With a 180 degree view of the ocean from both bedrooms and lower patio. It's a short walk to the beach and the pier. Lovely vacation! So happy to have had the opportunity to stay at this property. The owners were very responsive to all inquiries. S. Yox

Ahhh, listen to the waves

The location is excellent - close to the boardwalk and pier. We walked the beach every day. The unit is comfortable with everything you need. I can’t say enough about the wonderful view. The hosts, James & Dianna, were great. We will be back.

Wonderful Stay, 5 stars

This was our first visit to San Clemente and we really could not have found a better place to stay. The communication upon arrival was excellent, the home was perfect, well appointed, clean and thoughtful special touches. The property is in a great location with easy access to town and beach. We woke up to the sound of waves and saw beautiful sunsets from our window and the patio. We highly recommend this special property and the kind property owners. Thank you!

Fall asleep listening to the actual ocean!

They had me at coffee. The owners let me know that they supplied coffee, but falling to sleep listening to the waves crash on the beach could not be beat. I could not have slept better! What a perfect stay we had. The gorgeous view, the comfortable beds, the convenient location, the easy walk to the beach, the sunsets, the ease of checking in and out, and the perfect parking spot!! I just wish we had stayed longer. If I make it back to San Clemente I will definitely return! Casa de Sophia really is a home away from home! Thanks to James and Dianna, with a shout out to Sophia, for sharing their wonderful property.

Perfect Ocean-View Stay in San Clemente!

One of our favorite stays in many years of travel! Thank you to our hosts Jim and Dianna and their absolutely wonderful tenants in this cozy residential complex who made our 8 day visit with family feel so comfortable and enjoyable! If you’re looking for a top-notch place where you still feel like you’re living like a local this is it! Fabulous furnishings, safe gated entry, friendly neighbors and their furry friends, superior cleanliness, amazing community park balcony with stunning full views of the ocean, easy access to walk to the beach, and most especially, two bedrooms where you can drift off to sleep at night in cozy beds listening to the sound of the waves! We enjoyed great restaurants up the road, walked down to the Pier and beach trail and enjoyed coffee, delicious breakfast burritos and waffles on a stick at the little cafe in the sand called West Toast at T Street. We loved every minute thanks to the whole bunch of you!
