Great Vacation

SPI Rentals scores again. Great house, plenty of space for a larger family. It is an older beach house with some age showing but still a good place to stay. Would definitely stay here again. SPI Rentals was on top of the only issue we had, their customer service is the best I've experienced on the island.

The house is in an excellent location, but we did find a couple of things wrong that needs to be addressed to get a better rating. First of all, the refrigerator, basically needs a new one, ice maker didn't work, shelves are broken, duct tape holding on the front of ice dispenser. Only other issue is that the back door lock doesn't work properly. But other than those 2 issues, the ac works great, easy check in, and close to everything. Would possible rent again if the issues are fixed.

Excellent house!

This house had almost everything you would want! It was steps away from a beach access, but not on the busy road. Having a personal and private pool was outstanding. The house was well equipped and very spacious, plenty of room for 8 people. Would definitely recommend this house!

Good, but lots of things need work

The house was good overall, except there were several things messed up that lowered our rating. For example, the guest shower door came off when you used it, there was a giant cockroach in the baking pan upon opening the cabinet, a shelf had to be taken out of the refrigerator door to get the refrigerator to latch closed, the “queen” beds were smaller than a typical queen size, and a lot of lightbulbs were out around the house. The heat in the pool wasn't working upon arrival, but after contacting maintenance, they came out right away and were able to get it working.

Pool is amazing

My family had a great time; however, DO NOT Recommend this house if you have children or are elderly. The stairs are super slippery and dangerous. I fell twice. The house was freezing, and we all got sick. I was not able to control the temperature. The beds are semi-comfortable, and the blankets they provide are super thin and cheap. The kitchen stove was not working correctly. The house is so close to the beach. It was our first time visiting South Padre, and it was beautiful. I hope my review helps people out of state.

Great service with SPI Rentals

Top notch customer service from SPI rentals. They were quick to help me resolve any and all issues with my most recent rental. They were so helpful and would definitely recommend renting directly with them when visiting South Padre. I look forward to booking my next rental.

More Than We Could of Hoped For

My mothers side of the family decide for the first time to take an out of state family vacation. It was literally steps away from the beach and shopping. Part of the family rented golf carts and drove approved parts of the islands without complaint. My mother and husband had such a great time they are headed back soon. My husband and I are runners. We ran the beach and the town, both were exceptional. We were in close proximity to the grocery store. Because it’s the island I suggest you stop before you drive across the bridge but still super convenient. Of course the negative - At 3:00 pm in the middle of summer the pool was pretty warm, but excellent for early morning and late night swims. We did have one repair mishap, but the property was attentive and accommodating. Which was beyond my expectation. I’d be happy to explain it to you! But I feel you’ll be happy without reaching out in the event you experience a problem.

Birthday Celebration

The place was great and very convenient to the beach. It is beginning to show some wear not noticeable in the pictures. The toilets were not working probably, had to call maintenance within hours of arriving. The smoke alarm in one of the bedrooms kept going off, had to call maintenance the second day. Regardless, it was great and very convenient for our milestone birthday celebration.

Excellent Location, Exactly As Described

This was our first family vacation with our children as adults with significant others and our first time on the island and this house was exactly what we needed! Everyone had their own space, the pool was wonderful, location to the beach, grocery, gas and liquor stores was ideal! We would definitely stay here again!!

Spacious, beautiful, very close to beach

Overall experience was fantastic. With a few details to consider. We couldn't check in at 4pm due to maintance taking care of master bathroom sink issue. We didnt get to check in until 5pm. That was very fustrating. We didnt like the bunk bed room on the first floor while the rest of the rooms were on the second and third floor. So if you plan to put your kids in this room ,no that it is located as soon as you walk in to the left by the front door. Actually anyone can sleep in that room but if you plan to have kids in that room, I believe this to be helpful since all the other rooms will be on the 2nd and 3rd floor. The TV in the bunkbed room could have been located on a different wall. My kids couldnt watch TV. The other thing i didnt like were the stairs. The tile stairs were slippery when wet and hard to recognize each step because it is the same flooring as the rest main floor. The second floor has wood floors. There is no ice maker in the refrigerator, make sure you bring ice bags in the freezer. On the second floor, 1st bedroom on the right, the TV didnt work. Heated pool was nice. Presentation was beautiful. You could see the ocean from the master bathroom window. This house had a fully loaded kitchen-dishes, pots, pans ,coffee cups, regular cups,bowels kitchen utensils etc. The master bedroom was immaculate. Love the space of the house. Outside of the house not being ready on time the house was a pleasant surprise.

Vacation

There were a few issues the ceiling fan in the 3 floor bedroom didn't work, the oven didnt work, the bed on the 2nd floor was leaning to one side couldn't sleep the day's that we were there and the propane in the bbq pit ran out of fuel in the middle on my cookout. The rest of the place had no more issues and the pool was great.

Excellent Property

This was an excellent property to stay for our family of eight adults and three children two and under. Love being so close to the beach. They do have a medium sized crock pot that isn't on the list which is nice. There is no pot holders which would be nice to have. Only two kitchen towels which we washed often. The kitchen was well stocked with pots and pans. I was impressed with the amount of start up items available like toilet paper, shampoo, soaps, etc. Would stay here again. Even with the colder weather the pool was comfortable. Good experience working with SPI Rentals who was in charge of the management of the property. We couldn't get the ice maker to work however didn't call maintenance. Maintenance may want to check on this.
