A unique property in Carmel by the Sea with seventy-year-old mature trees: California twisted oaks, Coastal Big Sur redwoods, a deciduous ancient Dawn redwood, and a Kiku Japanese maple. The garden has David Austin and Cecile Bruner roses. Enjoy camellias, sword ferns, wild ginger, irises, and much more. Inside the home: newly refinished hardwood, tiled floors, fresh paint, and a wood burning fireplace. Artwork by the host, Kelly Steele, and other local artists are seen throughout the home. Enjoy our extensive library collection while you are here. The fully equipped kitchen opens to the living space and has views of the garden. The master bedroom has a California King bed with down comforter and duvet. The well lit office space has a new 27" iMac and can accommodate a third guest with the new twin bed. Both bedrooms have built in closets. Behind our back fence you will see the house written about in John Steinbeck's Tortilla Flat (red house shown in our photos).
Guests enter the redwood planked cottage through the classic Carmel teal dutch door under the Big Sur redwoods. There are French doors in the living room and a master bedroom door that lead out to the secret garden.
