This house is amazing! Looks like a dream house! It has everything you need & the host was very prompt with communications. The kitchen is well stocked. Lines are so comfortable. That porch! It’s beautiful. It’s the kind of house you never want to leave.

My husband and I loved staying at Dragonfly Cabin. The cabin is beautiful, close to Clayton and Highlands, is well appointed with everything you could need and is situated on such a scenic property. Every detail is perfect. Watching the deer while sipping coffee in the morning on the front porch was a perfect start to our day. We definitely plan to return and highly recommend this cabin for anyone looking to stay in the Sky Valley area.

Perfection!

My husband and I were looking to spend a long weekend escaping the heat of SC in a relaxing location close to The Highlands and Clayton. Dragonfly Cabin checked all of the boxes! The weather was perfect (high 70’s) and the cabin was well appointed, absolutely beautiful, and so comfortable. Julie was an excellent hostess and has truly thought of everything to make her cabin comfortable. One of the best accommodations we’ve experienced. Can’t wait to go back!

Wonderful farmhouse

This was our second time staying at this home. It's in a wonderful location and very relaxing. The front porch is peaceful and great for a quiet nap or for sitting with family/friends. The beds are extremely comfortable and the host has thoughtfully provided everything you need. The location is close to Highlands, Clayton and Franklin. A wonderful place to stay.

Best place we’ve ever stayed in!

Everything about this cabin is amazing! Located just near Sky Valley, you get all the amenities but with the feel of privacy. The cabin is beautifully decorated and comes equipped with every you could possibly think of to make your stay feel like you’re at home. The view is breathtaking! We came during peak fall foliage and the view from the porch did not disappoint! This was by far the best cabin we’ve ever stayed in and hope to stay here again!

Perfect Calm

This was the first vacation my family has had since December of 2023 and this stay was exactly what we needed. Quiet and clean and calm. Lovely space to stay, amazing weather for cool nights next to the fire.

Fantastic weekend near Highlands, NC

If anyone is looking for a place to stay near Highlands, NC look no farther than Dragonfly Cabin at Scaly Mt. The pictures on line are great but truly don’t do justice to this magnificent property. We would go back for another stay whenever possible. It is meticulously decorated and impeccably clean. From the moment we walked in to the property we felt at home. It is obvious the restoration of Dragonfly Cabin was a labor of love, and it shows in the attention to detail to make your stay as comfortable as possible. It is a 10 out of 10. It was hard to leave but we will be back.

Lovely and Fun

Nicest property we have stayed at in the highlands/franklin area and we have been visiting 3-4 times a year for 5 years to be near family. The host is very helpful but considerate of guest’s privacy. Everything you might need is provided. Very peaceful and relaxing, with opportunities for many things to do. loved our sta.

I grew up in Dallas, Texas then moved to Florida for the next almost 40 years but always knew I was a mountain girl at heart! I purchased the cabin Nextdoor to this property for a mountain get away prior to relocating to Scaly Mountain full time. In 2022 I decided the Florida heat was too much and made the cabin my full time home. When the property Nextdoor came up for sale I grabbed it, proceeded the massive renovation and the rest is history! I welcome my guests with the goal that they too will experience the tranquility and peace my little slice of heaven in the mountains offers!

Having the gift of hospitality makes my role as host of this property a perfect fit! It’s my goal that all who enter will have an incredible stay as they make beautiful and cherished memories.

Scaly Mountain is located within walking distance to Sky Valley Country Club where the amenities can be enjoyed by all who choose to be guests at Firefly Cabin. The community is safe, gorgeous, and convenient to many area attractions. My five acres offers privacy, wildlife, gorgeous trees, a babbling brook and a pond which lends a relaxing atmosphere.

While able to enjoy the amenities at Sky Valley the cottage is not located in the country club but rather on five private acres. The beautiful views are yours alone. The very large front porch is the perfect place to take in the beauty of the property.
