Fun, Rustic Cabin

We really enjoyed this log cabin. There was plenty of space for the 5 of us (including 3 kids). The kitchen was well stocked and we appreciated small amenities such as a Keurig and dvd player. Be aware that the driveway is quite steep and some of the underbrush is overgrown, which may make it hard for vehicles with a low clearance. It was tough for our minivan. The cabin is definitely charming, but could also use a little maintenance. The shower in the upstairs bathroom was pulling out of the wall and the one downstairs has a hole forming above the shower in the drywall. Also, the windows had an accumulation of bugs and spiders that need to be vacuumed away. Overall it was a great place that could just use a little tlc. The kids loved the bunk beds and the antique pieces of furniture were a nice touch. We would definitely recommend it to others.

Wedding weekend memories

This was a perfect location for resting and running on the weekend of my son’s wedding. The kitchen was well stocked and I was able to cook dinner and breakfast for hungry groomsmen. It was a quick 20 minute drive to Cedar Oaks Venue and had everything we needed. Our younger children enjoyed the wildlife sightings! A good size doe and her fawn walked through several times and were a big hit for all of us! The host was very efficient with her responses and incredibly flexible. Thank you so much! We hope to come back and just relax!

So relaxing!

We had a wonderful stay! So relaxing! Beautiful cabin! Had everything we needed and the host was super nice and accommodating! We were all very pleased with our short stay and didn’t want to leave! Will definitely look into staying again on our next trip!

Secluded Gem i-

Marvelous location in the woods - secluded and quiet. The cabin is really nice - outside and inside. Hosts are great and if needed available and great. Campfires, walks, relaxing with family and friends. Awesome time and Great time. A winner!!

Peaceful retreat

This house was just what we were looking for. It was tucked away in nature, but not too far from stores, restaurants and natural Bridge. It was so quiet and peaceful. The host was great! We would definitely stay again!

Dori: I grew up visiting both sets of grandparents on Wheats Valley Road and I love the area. I live in Atlanta now but still escape up to the mountains whenever I can with my family for hiking and watching the night sky.

Varför värden valde detta boende

Dori: I bought the log cabin and the ten acres it rests on after my grandfather passed away. It reminds me of him because he built it from lumber that he had milled on site. I think of him when I see the care he put into designing and realizing it. He loved nature and taught me to identify different plants, trees, and animal tracks.

Vad som gör detta boende unikt

The interior is beautiful because the wood used, especially for the living room area, is furniture-grade. I love the quiet, the wildlife, and the amazing view of the night sky. It gets so dark!
