Our stay at La Petite Porte Jaune was spectacular. Nine of us (ranging in age from 60-76) shared the house for three nights and four days, and every person was effusive in their praise of the house/deck/yard. The bedrooms (and beds) were comfortable; the shared spaces were large and inviting (the great roomâwow!), including the deck, where we ate dinner together every night and soaked in the hot tub before bed. We really enjoyed the kitchen and the attached sitting area: lots of room to drink coffee or cocktails, snack before dinner, and chat up those who were on meal prep duty. This is the kind of house where you weren't in a hurry to leave each day. But leave we did! We spent time at the Saturday farmer's market in Great Barrington (wonderful), at the coffee shop and bookstore in West Stockbridge (also wonderful), at the public beach on Queechy Lake (thank you, Courtney, for providing passes to the beach; we used 2 of them). People loved (and used) the bathrobes provided to guests and the beach towels. It is just such a beautifully appointed home, with lots of light and visual appeal. We were happy from the moment we walked in and sad when our long weekend was over. Thatnk you, Courtney, for making our gathering so special.
