A Perfect Stay in California

This was the perfect get away from a Mn arctic blast in January. Sarah was responsive and helpful with every question we had and Mark was gracious in orienting us to the property and cottage upon our arrival. The cottage was small, comfortable and cozy which was perfect for our needs and the view was beautiful. The location was nice with easy access to Point Lobos and other trails. We truly enjoyed our stay at this property and would love to visit again.

Breathtaking Views!

Our family had such a wonderful time staying at the Abalone Cottage! The hosts were very communicative and the house was spotless upon arrival. We thoroughly enjoyed the walking trail nearby. Highly suggest this lovely home to anyone who wants a quiet place to stay right on the ocean. We can’t wait to stay again!

I have stayed with friends at bothWhaler’s Cottage and Abalone Cottage several times. Each and every time has been a delight. The cottages are sublime and the location is unbelievably gorgeous. The hosts are wonderful.

Gorgeous Quiet Beachfront Cottage Near all!

We were impressed with the coziness, relaxing atmosphere forever views of the ocean and Monastery Beach and all the amenities that you will need in a small place. Very comfortable, quiet and secure. Close to hiking trails, commercial malls like the Barnyard, gas stations and a short drive to Carmel Point, Scenic Drive, Carmel Beach and Ocean Ave shopping and fabulous restaurants. Beautiful View, confortable house and great hosts.

Comfortable and clean house. Comfortable beds and linens, very wl stocked kitchen with nice utensils. Quiet house and restful location. Nice shops nearby, loved the local stores and restraunts. Thank you for the bottle of wine it was nice to enjoy on our first nite at the house, watching the sunset. Will definitely return.

Peaceful and Comforting

It was so peaceful there. It felt very homey and the view was amazing. I think I sat there for hours watching the waves. The girls loved exploring the trails and beach looking for treasures. They even chose that over other adventures. It was agreat stay and I was sad to go.

Best Trip Ever!!

This is one of the best vacations I have ever had. The property is amazing. Perfect views of the sunset over the beach. It was relaxing to listen to the sound of the waves at night while falling asleep. The town of Carmel is so cute and quaint and the locals are so friendly. But truthfully if I never left the property in 5 days I would have been just as content. I hope to be back next year.

Picture Perfect!

This enchanting seaside cottage is right out of a fairytale! Spectacular views of Pt Lobos and Monastery Beach mesmerize you as you sip your morning coffee or sunset wine. The cozy wood burning fireplace adds to the charming ambience. Stunning walk to Carmel River State Beach is a great way to start each day. The cottage was well equipped and clean. So happy the owners are willing to share this family retreat with us. Cannot wait to return!

Ocean front cozy paradise

We chose this property for its private location directly on the ocean. We wanted to drink our morning locally roasted coffee and our evening glass of local wine on our private oceanfront property! We wanted to watch the sunrise and sunset on the beach and walk out the back door to a spectacular almost private hiking trail along the coast! This was perfect! Cozy, quiet, clean. Relaxing and awe inspiring! 😍

Perfect in so many ways

This little abode was a perfect homebase for our family of 4 with a 2 and a 3 yr old. The kitchen was very well equipped, there was laundry, easy parking, the space was cozy but enough space with the two bedrooms and two bathrooms to not feel too small. The backyard and grounds were magical; view was amazing; and the location was superb. We went down to Big Sur, over to Point Lobos, along the beach and water in both directions, and up to Monterey. Can’t rave about this place enough. It was the linchpin to our wonderful vacation. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

A Slice of secluded PARADISE!!

My new happy place!!! What a wonderful vacation in such a beautiful secluded setting. Close enough to Carmel, Monterey and such but yet just a short distance to a peaceful, quiet lovely cottage full of amenities and all that we needed. Amazing views, enjoying my morning coffee watching the waves and listening to the calming sounds of the surf. Countless walks on the beach with the dogs and trails just steps away from the cottage. Thank you Sara and Pat for allowing our two small dogs who also thoroughly enjoyed themselves. We love your beautiful home and we will be back!!! B & B Orlando

Stunning location & property!!

We enjoyed the property during our week's stay - the views are incredible!! Enjoyed the adjacent trail along the shoreline. We like to make our own meals, so just wish the kitchen's range was more user-friendly.
