Ocean Front Retreat Cabin

Far Cry ligger precis söder om Cannon Beach, ELLER, nedför en avskild, skogsområdad väg och ligger precis ovanför stranden med full utsikt över Stilla havet. Den norra änden av stranden är Cove Beach och vid lågvatten är en grotta till Arch Cape tillgänglig. I söder är Falcon Cove uppkallad efter Cape Falcon, en odling som stiger 750 'ut i Stilla havet. Det finns plats för fyra i två separata sovrum för högst sex (6) nätter. Det finns vandringsleder och massor av gamla filmer och spel, en stor öppen spis, bekväma stolar där man kan koppla av och bry sig bort och naturligtvis 180 graders hav precis utanför. Köket är fyllt med kryddor och köksredskap. Färska sängkläder väntar på din ankomst. Välkommen till Far Cry.

It was just what we were looking for on our first trip to Pacific NW! The beach was only steps from the house and offered a perfect peaceful setting with no crowds. Nice neighborhood. Long walks at low tide, wave sounds to sleep by and colorful sunsets. Owner very responsive and easy to work with. I wish we lived closer to visit more often!

Beautiful views

This place was perfect! The views were incredible and it seemed like you had your own personal beach. It’s private and secluded, yet less than 15 minute drive to Cannon Beach. Definitely recommend!

If you want peace and quiet this is the place to be. The views are stunning, nice clean sand to walk on, and sand dollars oh my! House has all you need and the owner is at the ready. You will love the peace a tranquility! ENJOY!

This place was a dream. Quiet, remote but not so far that it was inconvenient to get to town. Whimsical and peaceful. With the most stunning view ever. We so needed it. We all loved it.

Good view but many drawbacks to rental

The view is very good. Unfortunately, the heating system, lighting, cabinets (too high for most women), steps (too high and no handrails and water/septic (small capacity, very limited) are lacking. Would work for a young, couple but problematic for older folks, folks with mobility challenges, and families with small children.

Wonderful house and location

Very nice ocean front two bedroom house, located right by a beach access path. The stretch of beach at this location is wonderful for walking and exploring.

Secluded beachfront house.

The description of the property was accurate. Very cute, cozy ocean front property. The beach access is right next door, however, the beach really is only safe during low tide as there is very little beach left which requires you to drive to another beach during the day. The house is comfortable and “beachy”. The low water requirements may hinder you a bit, but with just two of us, we didn’t mind. The property is in an area with few houses and down a narrow road so be prepared for this. We had a big storm and power outage and had trouble finding needed supplies. The views are spectacular and the place is very peaceful.

Wonderful retreat!

We loved our stay with our pups at Cape Arch Far Cry cottage! It is peaceful and so comfortable. We loved having a front row view of the ocean waves. It is also close to Manzanita and Cannon Beach for stores, restaurants and beach walks. It was perfect for our getaway!

Favorite place on the Oregon coast!

We love the far cry cabin. This was I think are 6th stay, and as always it was great! The pelican migration was on and we saw at least 500 fly through. We even had about 80 roust on the beach in front of us for a while. There was even one whale that came through. It’s my favorite place on the Oregon coast.

Our first time on Iregon coast

We live about 50 minutes from ME/NH coast. We couldn’t believe how close you get to the coastline in Oregon and how serene it is. We experienced a wonderful sunset on the back lawn and a walk on the beach in the morning finding crabs, jellyfish, starfish, sand dollars not broken and razor clams. It was close enough to Cannon Beach and Seaside to go out for an early dinner and then enjoy the cozy comfort of music, candlelight and a drink at night. Little issue with the fireplace but it only lasted 40 minutes. Great music, books, games & a stocked essentials kitchen. We brought our dinner in night one and had a light breakfast each morning. I would definitely suggest be prepared! We would definitely return. It’s been our our list for 5 years and we wrapped it up big after a cruise and stay in Seattle. Thank you Carolyn.

Great getaway spot

I'm so happy we stayed at Far Cry for our vacation to the Oregon Coast. The location is simply spectacular - right on a wide, sandy beach, framed by the steep cliffs this coast is known for. Peaceful and quiet - often we were the only souls in sight on the beach. We saw seals, all sorts of seabirds, and sea life galore in the tidepools. The house was perfect for us - it's obvious it's a well-loved family home that's been maintained with dedicated care for many years by Carolyn. My wife's family used to own a small 1950s-era home on the New Jersey coast and this reminded me of that (except this location was far more scenic and less crowded than NJ!) Well stocked with everything you might need, very clear instructions on how to use anything, and more books and movies than you could possibly consume in months. Beautifully decorated as well, including some very nice artwork by the owner herself! Far Cry is a haven and I hope some day we can return.

Beatiful retreat

L8cation is absolute stanning....I wish we have more time to spend at the house, our day were packed with day trips, but it was absolute delight to come back each evening to this luttle cabin. In july beach was always there : low and high tides, so we usually walk on the beach each evening... Water is cold....Beach feels like deserted , on many occasions, we were the only ones on the beach ....Makes us extremely satisfied, especially seeing how crowded other beaches are. House was cute, clean and have everything you need. We tried to conserve water as much as possible, and did not have any issues with water supply...We appreciated vast movies collection and games host provided...

Much Needed Peace and Relaxation

Far Cry is a beautiful little property in a breathtaking location. The beach truly provides a sense of grounding and peace. The house was clean and comfortable. I had a wonderful stay with my mom, just relaxing and spending time together. There are some water limiting issues with the septic tank, not a problem for just the two of us, but may be difficult to manage with more people. Overall, it was a fantastic stay. I definitely hope to return someday.

Beach House

The location of the property was terrific but unfortunately that was the highlight. The bed was so darn hard we ended up using 4 spare blankets to put underneath the fitted sheet to make it somewhat comfortable. The pillows were flat as could be and smelled moldy. Two of the extra quilts were worn out & had rips in them. Overall our sleep was poor which is a shame when you are hoping to relax for a week. The blow dryer only put out cold air which was not conducive to styling my hair. Neither bedroom had a closet so our clothes ended up staying in our suitcase and no iron meant wrinkled clothes. Our past experience at VRBO's has been very good and we were disappointed this experience was not the same.

Beautiful property

We really enjoyed our stay at far cry. The property is beautiful! The only draw back was the water restriction situation that wasn’t stated until the check in directions came, it’s challenging to conserve water when everyone (family of 4) is always covered in sand and needs separate showers. Otherwise we had a great stay!

Perfect place to stay with dogs

This place is the O.G. vacation rental. The location is perfection. Great place for a relaxed stay with dogs on the beach. The kitchen was well stocked. The water situation a bit of a hassle. I’m happy to conserve but “wash dishes in bins stored under the kitchen sink and empty the water outside” definitely complicated things. Otherwise, this place is perfectly private but not fancy.

Buying Far Cry in 1985-86 on New year's Eve was a dream come true. The house was a true fixer. Over the years improvements were made, but the integrity of the 1953 original house was maintained. A strip of the original wall colors was left in the hall way just for fun. Far Cry is in a quiet residential neighborhood. It is private without being too remote . The best part is the 180 degree view of the Pacific Ocean. I hope you enjoy my little piece of Heaven as much as I do.
