Kabinen ligger där Lakeview Creek kommer in i Donner Lake. Lyssna på den babbande bäcken och varva ner på vårt däck när du tittar ut över sjön. Gör en kort promenad eller cykla med våra kryssningscyklar till stranden. Däckområdet är den främsta underhållningsplatsen. Det är en solig liten plats. Perfekt för eftermiddagsgrill och underhållande. Inuti tallskogsväggarna tar du dig tillbaka i tiden, men det finns moderna finish. Köket har alla nya rostfria apparater. Vardagsrummet har en "smart" TV med internetfunktion. Faktum är att hela stugan har wifi, och två av de tre sovrummen har TV också. För längre vistelser kommer du att uppskatta tvättstugan. Och det finns gott om parkering "utanför gatan". Det är en plan uppfart som plöjs hela vintern, och det finns en täckt gångväg, så ingen snöskakning för att komma åt kabinen! Såååå nära Sugar Bowl :)

Great mountain getaway!

We loved this house. Very cozy, plenty of space, well equipped. Great quiet neighborhood on Donner Lake, and close to lots of outdoor activities and downtown Truckee.

Perfect weekend getaway

I am in Truckee every week but wanted to stay for the weekend with my daughter. Communication with the property owner is fantastic. Home is warm and cozy. Gave us the perfect down time and downtown Truckee was about 15 minutes away. Great drive to Mountain Brew coffee at the other end of the lake in the early morning gives all the feels driving by the lake without people. If you want the easy, hide away low key rest weekend this is the place.

Autumn at Donner Lake

This was our second stay at Robert’s Roost. Perfect weather to enjoy the beautiful deck with a view of Donner Lake. The cabin was very clean and so cozy. Hope to come back again.

Family Ski Weekend

This cabin was exactly what we were looking for. Came up for a long weekend for a family Ski weekend and it was perfect for our two kids (ages 6 and 8) and dog. The beds were comfortable, the cabin was clean and tidy and the owner was very accommodating. I would definitely recommend for a family to come stay and enjoy this cabin on dinner lake!

Cozy Donner Lake Cabin

We really enjoyed our Labor Day weekend at Jim’s cabin. The cabin was very comfortable and well-stocked. The layout of rooms is convenient. The deck was our favorite spot and we appreciated the fact that it’s fully enclosed, as we came with our pet.

Great Cabin for a “Girls” Trip

This cabin was perfect for my two lifelong friends and myself. It was clean, every bed and sofa was comfortable. Every item we reached for during meal prep was there. Quiet neighborhood, and no traffic noise. Within walking distance to the West entrance of Donner Lake Beach. Kayak and paddle boards available for rent, and there is pickle ball court.

Great cozy getaway for the family

I went to the cabin after some snow, and had a great time with the family. It was a nice clean cabin that had everything that we needed. A quiet and intimate location, that was right by the beach, and close to the snow parks. We really enjoyed our time at the cabin and we would go back again. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook, and the store was a few minutes away. We went to a free snow park by Boreal, which was about 10 minutes away. Our 2 year old son had a blast, and our dog had fun too.

Heavenly setting in a wonderful cabin

Roberts Roost Cabin is equipped with everything including a canoe and bikes! As a cook, I was so pleased with all the cooking utensils, pots and pans plus. Really the only thing one needs to bring are food, clothes and toiletries. The very clean cabin is located next to a babbling water tributary into Donner Lake. Sitting on the deck listening to the water rolling over the rocks was the best for relaxing, and seeing the sunrise over Donner Lake from the deck was just wonderful. The host was responsive, accommodating and very nice. My family and I look forward to our next visit.

Wonderful spot, great cabin

We loved staying here. The house had exactly what my family of five (husband, 12 and 14-year-old kids, and dog) needed to have a fun, relaxing four days. The deck overlooks a small river, so I basically just sat there for hours and read in the forest with the white noise surrounding me. I'm sure we would've had fun at the private beach -- it was easy to get to, and it looked like there was a lot to do -- but we had our dog, so we opted to find other hikes and ways onto the lake. Jim is extremely accommodating and so welcoming. I never had any trouble getting in touch with him, and he sort of bent over backward to help me when I left one of my bags up at the house. Can't say anything bad about the entire experience.

Sweet rustic cabin

Had a great stay here. This cabin is unique — while it is more rustic than many of the cabins we have rented in the Donner area (e.g., old school with a single small common space, pellet stove for heat in single common room upstairs, old fixtures, etc) it is in an amazing location near the lake and right on the edge of the creek. The small kitchen has lots of cooking utensils, but no dishwasher. The bedrooms are small but the beds were comfy. Jim was an excellent and communicative host and the cabin is very well priced. A small heads up: you should be aware that Jim requests that guests wash all the linens before leaving (e.g. towels, bedding). This is not typical in my experience for rentals, and took a little coordination on our part. Overall terrific stay though, and grateful to Jim for sharing the home!

Donner Lake Retreat

We spent a week at the lake over Christmas/New Years' Eve (we left the 30th). Cozy cabin, excellent location, good access even in snowstorm. Excellent communication from/with owner. As others have noted, though there are enough beds to sleep 7, the public spaces (living room/dining, kitchen) are a little tight—we were totally comfortable with 3, 4 or 5 would probably work fine, but more than that would be hard to manage at mealtimes. The kitchen is adequately supplied with equipment, though if you're much of a chef you might want to bring your own knife (or a sharpener), and we didn't find a coffee grinder, so if you drink coffee, grind it first. Combination of heater and pellet stove kept everyone warm. Upstairs bedroom with king bed is the coziest, though the mattress was a little too soft for our backs. Internet worked fine, but the TV controls were a bit mystifying and we had mixed success accessing what we were trying to find. Overall excellent stay, and we would consider booking again.

Cabin was charming, very clean with comfy beds. My rating went from excellent to good only because the dryer took forever to complete as we were required to wash and dry linens and towels. Other than that, it was a lovely stay.

Donner Lake getaway

Cozy cabin near the lake. Loved the views, the deck, the quaint windows, beds were comfy. Very small kitchen with no dishwasher, it was amusing for a short stay but would get tiresome for longer stays.

Great location

This place was in a great location on Donner Lake. 2 minute drive to the park nine minute drive to the store. The house was neat and tidy. Will definitely stay again.

Babbling Brook Blissful Donner Lake Uber Quaint Cabin

Our second stay here. We love walking the neighborhood and the lakeside park with Maestro. We have guests stop for dinner on the way in and out of Tahoe, and had great times with a full house. The feeling on the being on the lake beats any random cabin in Tahoe. Feels Very Private! Always happy to get to cabin sooner than fighting more traffic and the same on the way out!HIghly recommended!! 5 stars and Jim Roberts is super nice!

Donner Lake Cabin

Great property and location. We dropped something into one of the floor vents and had to remove the vent cover. It was very dirty in the vent, perhaps time for a clean. Otherwise allgood.

Perfect Dog Friendly Cabin

The cabin was adorable and very comfortable. The pellet stove keeps it nice and warm. Everything was well laid out and explained so the cabin was super user friendly as well. And it's only a 10 min drive to Sugar Bowl! I would highly recommend to anyone looking for that perfect old school ski cabin.

This is our "cabin", and it's perfect for families and small groups of friends. We ski at Sugar Bowl, and boat and paddle board on the lake in the summer. We road and mtn bike as well. There are terrific mtn bike trails right down the street. And the hiking in the area is truly amazing.

Varför värden valde detta boende

The fact that the bike riding is so superb right from the property was a huge surprise. And Donner Lake is just our style of relaxation. We like Tahoe, but Donner has a mellower vibe, less hectic, and more alpine. We enjoy hosting BBQs on our deck and listening to the creek and looking out at the lake.

Vad som gör detta boende unikt

This is a cabin. Its fully renovated with modern conveniences, but the pine logs make it feel rustic and alpine. This is a great family spot. You can park the car and never use it again once you arrive. Everything is close by. If you brought your boat hit the lake. Morning pulls are the best, but evenings are awesome with the sun setting over Donner Peak. And the fishing around Lakeview Creek is the best on Donner Lake. Just don't tell anyone.
