Grammieâs Kanab Retreat Casita has double French doors that open up to the amazing backyard. The large, completely open floor plan is the ideal place to host gatherings and large events. The living room has a couch and two chairs, along with a large TV. There's a full-size Murphy bed cleverly tucked away in the closet and a queen sofa bed in the main room. The jaw-dropping barn wood kitchen will wow you with its huge bar complete with 6 bar stools to sit and enjoy an ice-cold drink with The fully equipped kitchen comes with a commercial sink, stovetop, fridge, microwave, toaster oven, pizza pan, baking dish, cookie sheets, pots and pans. For a small fee, use the flattop grill. There's also a washer & dryer and a full bathroom with a walk-in shower and barn wood vanity, continuing the rustic theme.

Early check-in/late checkout:
If our property is available for early check-in or available for late checkout, we are happy to allow for this. We can message you when the property is ready. The earlier you request early check-in or late checkout, the more likely we will be able to honor the request. If you need additional accommodations, please message the hosts and let us know your needs. We will communicate with our cleaner and inspector to see if it will work with their schedule and accommodate you when possible. If we are able to accommodate, there is a fee of $15/hr/house for early check-in or late check-out. This helps us coordinate with our cleaning team and their schedule.
If a crib is desired, please request 36 hours in advance. We will try to honor requests later than this, but can not guarantee it.

The Neighborhood:
Located in the heart of downtown Kanab! Kanab is a quiet, small, picturesque town. A short walk to Center Street (aka Highway 89) will provide a pleasurable evening stroll past unique shops, restaurants, and a trip down Hollywood's Western Legends past.
There's plenty to do with state and national parks nearby, but if you're looking for something more low-key for a day or two, consider taking a hike nearby, all offering great views:
Squaw Trailhead is 1.1 miles (4 minute drive, about 8 blocks)
Toms Canyon Trailhead is 0.8 miles (3 minute drive, about 7 blocks)

Getting Around:
This home is downtown and has convenient access to Hwy 89A/89 which takes you to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, Zion and Bryce National Parks, Lake Powell, as well as the north rim of the Grand Canyon.
Here in southern Utah, a vehicle is required to get around in town and beyond. We recommend a 4WD vehicle with high clearance if you intend to go off-road to out-of-the-way places.
Page, AZ airport is 1 hour away; St. George, UT airport is 1.5 hours away; Las Vegas airport is 3 hours away.
Kanab is situated in the "Grand Circle" area and known as the "Hub of the Parks", centrally located among Zion National Park (30 miles), Bryce Canyon National Park (76 miles), the Grand Canyon (North Rim - 80 miles). You can also visit Pipe Springs National Monument (21 miles), the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument (15 miles), Vermilion Cliffs National Monument (77 miles), Coral Pink Sand Dunes (20 miles), Kodachrome Basin (93 miles), Lake Powell/Glen Canyon Recreation Area (75 miles), the "Wave"/Paria Wilderness (50 miles), Horseshoe Bend (77 miles), Cedar Breaks National Monument (65 miles) and so much more. Please note mileage is approximate and may vary by a few miles.

Dozens of Western movies were made here and every August, we have Western Legends, where you can meet some of your favorite old stars. It also features the High Noon Parade (with Longhorn cattle), Country Battle USA (great music!), Cowboy Poetry, a terrific vendor fair, a rodeo, and much more - not to mention yummy food! Also note:
1. Flattop grill in Casita may be rented for a small fee of $20/day. Please request this charge be added to your reservation 72+ hours prior to your stay. Propane will be unlocked to the grill for the stays who have paid the grill rental. There is a $35 fee each time to relight the pilot light. Guests who use the grill without including it in their reservation will be charged the $20/day fee, $50 cleaning fee, and an additional $100 maintenance fee. Outside grills are included at each house. A $50 fee will be charged for each grill left dirty, or grease left in the grease trap.
If you need instructions on how to clean any of the grills, please refer to the detailed instructions included in the guest book.
3. PETS: As mentioned, our home is pet-friendly. Please note there is a pet fee if you plan to bring them. Dog breeds must be approved before booking. Pets must be in cages while in the home, no exceptions. Pets are NOT allowed to be unattended in the homes at any time, please understand and respect our policy. Outside they need to remain on the property, and be on a leash or in a cage if there are other guests besides your party. Please 100% clean up after your pets both inside and out. $150 extra cleaning fee for excessive pet hair. Any additional excessive cleaning needed or damages will be charged to the party who booked the reservation.
4. Furniture moved and not put back in its original place will incur a charge for us to have someone move it back. Also, be careful if moving any furniture. You will be charged for any damages caused. *The exception is if you use the sofabeds &/or Murfy bed, please leave them open upon check-out and the cleaners will put everything back where it belongs after changing the linens.
5. Water that is left running will incur a $50 fee each for anything left running. Please see that toilets and faucets are not running when you checkout.
Please notify us of any issues concerning these things immediately as you arrive on the property. We check the grills after each check-out.
***Pool table is in a space where the air temperature is not controlled. In the winter it may be cold, and in the heat of the summer it may be warm.
***Hot tub should be available by the middle of May, if not before.
