With plenty of sleeping arrangements, a spacious, screened-in, indoor/outdoor living space, and a charcoal grill, Bluewater Bungalow will quickly become your family’s favorite place to vacay. This home has everything your crew needs to relax, recharge, and reconnect on the Texas coastline.

● Location: Sea Isle beach community of Galveston, Texas



● Beach Access: The Sea Isle Beach access point is a 2-3 minute drive away.



● Community Amenities: Guests have access to the Sea Isle community pool for a fee— open Memorial Day thru Labor Day— and the community boat launch and fishing pier with the provided keys.



● Rent BeachBox: Beach gear rentals are available! Ask us for details and rates.



● WIFI/Cable: We provide free high-speed WIFI and Roku with access to Sling TV for live television channels. Guests are welcome to log into their own streaming service apps.



● Pet Policy: 2 pets are allowed with a $25 fee per pet. Please keep pets off furniture, clean up after them outside, and crate them if left alone indoors.



● Parking: There is room for up to 4 vehicles in the driveway.



When you arrive at Bluewater Bungalow, the cheerful, exterior and swaying palm trees will instantly transport you into vacation mode. The main level great room is bright and beachy, with a soaring cathedral ceiling with painted shiplap detail. The kitchen has a peninsula bar with seating while a flexible passthrough space opens to allow access to the back porch living area. Through the sliding glass doors, a spacious, screened-in living space will be a popular spot for your whole crew. Overlooking the sparkling canal below, your family will love to spend time out here— dining, snacking, playing games, or watching tv.



Three bedrooms provide plenty of sleeping space for your family. The first bedroom has a queen-size bed with a custom built-in twin-size bunk bed, creating super-cozy sleeping spots for the kids. A second bedroom has two queen-size beds and the third bedroom has a sumptuous king-size bed. A full bathroom is accessed from the hallway and has a tub/shower combo.



Outside, the sun-drenched wrap-around deck space is the perfect spot to soak up the Texas sunshine. The canal is also great for fishing— and there’s a charcoal grill to cook up your fresh catch of the day. Sip a glass of wine while you sway gently on the porch swing and gaze out at the sparkling canal.



When your family is ready to go exploring— the Galveston Strand and Pleasure Pier are quick drives away. And the Sea Isle beach access point, community pool, and parks are right around the corner, too. Bluewater Bungalow will quickly become your family’s new home-away-from-home base on the Texas coast.

Upon arrival the house was dirty. The appliances looked like they were wiped down with a dirty rag, the glass doors had hand and finger prints all over them. The pictures of the house were outdated. All the beds were on cheap metal frames that were all breaking. We were afraid if we moved the wrong way on the beds they would break. I took pictures of everything as we entered and sent to the property manager. They didn't seem too concerned. We stayed outside letting our teens and young son fish off the dock downstairs until it was around 11:30pm. When we got back into the house we immediately noticed cockroaches running all over the kitchen. Upon further inspection they had a major infestation. They were in the pots and pans, under the trash can, running over the counters. I called and text the property manager and didn't get a response. I called VRBO to inform them of the issue. While we were sitting there getting no where with VRBO a cockroach was climbing on my sons back. It was horrific. VRBO told me all they could do was send someone to bring me bug spray! This issue couldn't be fixed with bug spray. We had nowhere to go in the middle of the night and nobody wanted to help. The following day the property manager sent me a text saying that bugs are part of living at the coast. I understand bugs that are part of normal coast living and this was not that!! This was an infestation!

It was a cute house but the roaches in the kitchen liked it too. . It was a great safe neighborhood see how we were never robbed since the doors wouldn’t lock at all. We did enjoy being right on the water. Had a colony of crabs to watch and had a bird friend that would visit at night.

Wasn't going to say anything originally, but after reading recent reviews, felt I had to say something. This property was incredibly disappointing. Upon arrival we were greeted with roaches everywhere! On the walls, counter, in the refrigerator, in beds, on the floor, even frozen in ice in the freezer. Was told by the property manager that the house would sprayed the following day, not sure this ever happened. We struggled with roaches the duration of our trip. We have three kids with two teenagers, so a big reason I booked the property was the canal access and the kayaks that were included in the rental. (NOT!!)I asked the host about the kayaks and was told they are not included in the property, but that I could rent kayaks from them and they would have them delivered. I made it clear I would not be paying for rental kayaks when the rental clearly said they were included. Kayaks were brought on second day. Pool was not clean on arrival, and there was no chlorine in the chlorinator. I was assured that the pool was clean and that it would be fine to use. I questioned the ability to sanitize the water without chlorine, but was assured the pool was fine to use.Floor was in awful shape and we cut our feet on the pieces sticking up. Bed broken in the queen room. Not to mention the furniture in the pictures is different from what is actually on site. Pictures have clearly been staged and doctored. Microwave broken, so countertop version was brought on day 3. Not a fun trip!

We loved our little beach stay here. The location was perfect, far enough away from Galveston to not be too busy but close enough if we needed to drive into town for anything. We were pleasantly surprised with a cowboy pool when we arrived which was not listed. Our kids enjoyed that so much!We loved fishing on the canal in the evenings and going down to the pier. We ended up catching a lot too. We also loved all the kid friendly things they had such as a highchair for our little one.The complaints we had was just that a lot needed to be updated. One of the rooms was quite hot although we did get it cooled down easily. The tile on several places was coming up and they could really use new flooring. And most of the beds were extremely uncomfortable for me. My kids were fine with them and I struggle finding the right sleeping surface anyway but the king size bed but a bit creaky and uncomfortable.We will definitely stay again but hopefully next time a few things will be updated a bit. But overall it was a good stay.

We have rented many places through Vrbo and by far this is the worst place we’ve ever stayed
we checked in at 4 pm Wednesday and going into the property we noticed that the home doesn’t look anything like the pictures
the floors had cracked floors, duct tape floors. When we came back from dinner the kitchen counters were infested with roaches
then we noticed roaches crawling on the walls. I reached out to BeachBox to let them know of the roach situation and was told there’s a can of bug spray under the kitchen sink. I wasn’t going to allow my family and my granddaughter that’s allergic to roaches to stay in the property. Late that night we had to find a hotel that was an additional cost to my family. I informed BeachBox that we had vacated the property and I wanted a full refund. I was asked for pictures which those were provided. I was then told I wasn’t going to get a refund due to their strict cancellation policies. I reached out to Vrbo and filed a complaint and informed the agent with Vrbo I want a refund
I was told that the agent was trying to reach the host and to wait 24-48 hours, which today is 48hrs. I want a full refund!!!!! By the looks of things- BeachBox shouldn’t have any listings due to comments from fellow vacationers with staying in other properties. This property doesn’t even deserve a 1 star rating! When the kitchen was infested, we killed some of what was crawling, but didn’t know we had to take pictures.

Not what we expected


We loved the location—right on the canal, which was perfect for the kids to enjoy fishing. The beds were comfortable, which made for restful nights. However, the home wasn’t quite as advertised. The room with the two queen beds wouldn’t cool down during the day, even with the extra fan, which made it uncomfortable. We also encountered many small roaches in both the kitchen and bathroom, and the pool was not clean when we arrived. While the pool cleaner did come out on the second day, the overall condition of the home was disappointing and did not meet expectations. We sent the property manager several text messages and did not get a response. We called and were told they would contact the property owner and get back to us, which they did not. We asked to be moved to a different home our 2nd day due to the roaches and did not get a response until after check out.

Great Little House on the Water

Great little house for a family to stay. We caught crab off the back porch and really enjoyed the Cowboy Pool after the day at the beach. Interior was clean and well appointed with modern appliances and smart TVs. 0 complaints from our family.
