We loved our stay. The view from the deck was outstanding. Very quiet neighborhood close to Meeks Bay and Sugar Pine Point. Close to hiking trails. We hope to come back !

Beautiful views

We very much enjoyed our stay. The views of the mountain are gorgeous, and you can even see the lake from some spots. The property / neighborhood were quiet and peaceful, and the house was stocked with all of the essential supplies that we needed during the week we were there. Meeks Beach is lovely, and while we definitely couldn’t walk there in the 15 minutes mentioned in the property description (it as far too steep and more of a trek than our group was up for) we were happy to make the quick drive in our car. The floors and the couch could use a deep clean, but otherwise everything seemed tidy.

Meeks Bay cabin

Affordable, great quiet location. Deck and views are awesome. Wasn't super clean at check in. Downstairs bedrooms and bath need some updates and stairs to access the lower level are pretty unstable. Definitely would rent again due to the value and views.

Great Location!

We enjoyed our stay at this cabin. It is in a great location between north and south shores. Since we traveled to both during our stays, the location was perfect. View is amazing from the deck with views to the lake. Owner very responsive with clear instructions on check in and check out process. Per other reviews the small spiral staircase takes a little getting used to and the kitchen could use a little tlc here and there. However, for the price and location we were very satisfied and happy with the cabin. Would definitely stay again.

Nice but poorly maintained cabin

This is a nice home at a decent location. The layout is nice in that allows the entire group to hangout in one place. However, the home is poorly maintained. The cleanliness of the kitchen left a lot to be desired. We found items in there that had expired 5 years ago. The hand soap container was empty in one of the bathrooms, and there was no soap or shower gel to be found anywhere.

Cons: The property needs a deep clean including carpet cleaning, grout in bathroom, etc. Railing on deck is loose (wobbly) in places. Some kitchen items in cabinet are dusty and require cleaning before use. Box fan and tower fan are provided upstairs but box fan is very dirty and needs to be cleaned. The house is comfortable in the morning but it gets very hot in the afternoon and early evening. This of course will only be a problem in the summer months. Pros: This house is in a good quite location and it is well stocked.

Amazing!

We really enjoyed our stay in this cabin! Everything was exactly as pictured and the communication and check in process were all clear and easy. The views are unbeatable and the cabin feels secluded without being isolated. The home was clean and we felt safe there. There is a steep staircase down to two of the bedrooms that Hope told us about before confirming our booking. It wasn’t a problem for us because there were only three of us and the upper bedrooms had plenty of room. The beds were squeaky and not the most comfortable, but everything else was great! I would recommend bringing your own plates and cutlery if your are a larger group and don’t want to have to do the dishes after every meal. Overall, we loved our stay and would definitely book again. Our daughter is already asking when we can go back to “our” cabin.

Tahoe Vaca

Top story was nice. The downstairs was a struggle the stairs to go downstairs are very small. There were many spiders in the downstairs area including restroom. Also the rental license are expired on this property. The driveway was very narrow and is shared with the front house which at times was an issue cause they were doing home improvements.

Family Trip to Lake Tahoe

We had a fabulous time at Lake Tahoe exploring so many amazing hikes and beautiful sunset spots!! Dog & Bear restaurant and Lakeview Social were great finds for food. We were a little disappointed with the views from the cabin, since we decided to pay more for a place with views. I would not call them tremendous. However, the cabin was a great base for our Lake Tahoe activities.

Great communication with owner

I rented this place for a family wedding in Valharra. Good location as about half way between Tahoe City and the wedding event center, good views (when it's not smoky) and had the rooms we needed. Hope was very responsive to me and we were able to check in early as we requested. Unfortunately the weekend we were there, there was the Mosquito fire burning so there was lots of ash and smoke in the area. Due to smoke, We were unable to use the outdoor patio area which has a great view of the mountains and you can see meeks bay. Also, no AC which is typical, however, we had to keep the windows closed due to smoke and there were only 1 fan in the house, it was very hot to sleep at night. Also, there was one bath towel and one wash cloth per person which is fine for the guys, but apparently women need more.. Had it not been smokey, it would have been a great stay. I'd recommend more fans, and more towels. The fridge is pretty old and makes weird noises, but it does work. It's also somewhat difficult to maneuver more than 2 cars into the driveway/garage area. Overall, I'd probably stay again as long as no fires in the area..

Amazing mini vacay!

We had an amazing time!!! The cabin is beautiful and the view was just amazing. We were not expecting any snow but we had an amazing time and enjoyed the snow storm so much!! Thay was just a plus! The property was really clean and comfy. Everything was perfect!

Use caution if renting in Summer

The house was very hot upon arrival with no way to cool it down. I realize the owners are not responsible for the weather, but it was not equipped to handle hot temps. They did reimburse me for fans I purchased on day 2, but ceiling fans and maybe an attic fan would be much better. We stayed out every day of our trip until evening and opened up all windows and turned on fans to start cooling it down, but it just wasn't enough. The layout of the house does not offer a cross breeze and it faces the afternoon sun, so we did not get to spend much time on the great deck either. Since we spent little time at the house, we have rated it 3 stars. I think the house would be a great rental Fall through Spring. Any temp over 80 is a risk in my opinion and it was over 80 all week and has remained there and the forecast shows the same for the next week as well, so it happens often enough to warrant some changes. I hope this review provides useful info to future Summer renters and to the host to make it better.

Amazing location!

We had a wonderful time at Lake Tahoe starting with this home. You couldn’t ask for a better location if you value privacy and the views from the deck are incredible. Hope was wonderful to work with and was very quick to respond when we had questions. Definitely recommend this place.

Our rental cabin is within 5 miles of all the major state parks and minutes walk to Meeks Bay Beach, Lake Tahoe. We are close to homewood ski resort and a nice lakeside drive to Squaw/Alpine and Heavenly. Views! Views! Views!
