Great location-Home away from home

Loved our 2 month stay at the Fig House 💓 It was perfect for us! We love cooking and the kitchen was well equipped and the fenced, private patio garden was so relaxing and quiet…WAY BETTER than many others we looked at. The owners were very responsive if ever we had a question. We would highly recommend and we would definitely return again!

Excellent!

We stayed in this adorable, clean and well maintained home for a couple of months and loved it! The perfect place to spend some time in Santa Barbara. The home has a great location within walking distance to everything. John, the homeowner was easy to deal with and great at communication. Perfect t stay!

Incredible in so many ways!

This house is incredible....the decor, aesthetic, location, atmosphere is all spot on. Even down to the smallest touches, like candles and robes. Even the kitchen is fully stocked with a french press coffee maker! Walking distance to all things SB has to offer...great restaurants, wine tasting in the funk zone. I will definitely be returning and quite frankly I wanted to move in permanently!

Top notch host and property

The property was even better in person than in pictures. The house was well stocked and the hosts didn't leave a stone unturned. Whatever you needed to cook at home, read, watch on tv, listen to music, etc, it was all there. I was especially fond of the outdoor patio's bottle opener, a nice touch. For those that need it, the wifi extended to the patio which allowed me to work from outside. The host and his daughter were helpful and responsive. The house was clean and tidy and absolutely ready for our arrival. The yard and outdoor space was well kept as well. Our welcome packet was thorough and the restaurant recommendations were a nice touch. We would definitely recommend this property and this host.

A Perfect SB California Bungalow

This sweet place fit the bill perfectly for my month long visit to SB. I was seeking a very walkable, convenient, location, with all the comforts of home. While I never met the hosts, Carolyne and John, they were always responsive to my questions and needs, right up to providing me with the best coffee in town for the morning after my late evening arrival. The kitchen was well appointed to prepare meals and, most appreciated, were the comfortable beds and quality linens. The only complaint I will voice were the, uncontrolled, barking dogs on the abutting properties, throughout the night. Certainly, not the fault of the hosts. I will definitely consider this property the next occasion I have to be in that lovely city. It will feel like "coming home", once again.

Lovely weekend!

My boyfriend, good friend and I came up to SB for a wedding weekend and thought it would be much better to stay in a house rather than a hotel room. Boy were we right! This cottage is adorable! It was very clean and extremely comfortable (I did not want to get out of bed on Sunday, it was like a cloud). The restoration was superbly done. The interior design is gorgeous - like a magazine. The house was equipped with just about anything you could need, and it was very convenient for a downtown wedding. We walked to dinners, the grocery store, and the wedding venue. When I was at a events with the bridal party, the guys walked to the Mission, found excellent margaritas and had lunch - all walking distance from the house. Additionally, John was very helpful and quick to respond to any inquiries I made. It's a lovely place for entertaining a couple of friends with the excellently stocked kitchen and large dining tables both indoors and out. I just wish we could have stayed longer!

Perfect accommodations

It’s a charming little house with the most well-appointed home kitchen I’ve seen in a long time — and I own a restaurant! The yards were peaceful. My dog enjoyed both the fenced front and back yards and she became part of the neighborhood. There is a large dog next door that alerts more than he should but well you’re in a cozy neighborhood, you have to expect that. If you can’t deal with that, find a place next to Oprah and Harry & Megan with huge properties. It is walking distance to everything you could need and the having the bicycles, locks, and helmets to go to the beach was a really thoughtful touch. John was great great great. The power went out in the whole neighborhood on day 2 and he stayed updated via SCEdison and kept me informed the whole time. Speaking of power, there was a heatwave of 100F during our trip. The central a/c unit is giant and handled the situation very very well. Not all places in SB have central air!! I absolutely plan to stay here again during my son’s stay at UCSB.

Great find!

I stayed for 5 weeks in May/June and can’t say enough good things about the Fig House! The kitchen was fully equipped and the appliances all like new- immaculate. The bathroom has beautiful new tile, the beds are both very comfortable. Apple TV’s in each room. The outdoor spaces (front and back) are lovely. The location can’t be beat - a very friendly and clean family neighborhood. A short walk to State Street and just minutes away from fantastic coffee, dinners, shops. Close to freeway, yet no noise. The house is very clean and John was great. Highly recommend!

John, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at your property. It was easy to find, located exactly where we wanted. The kitchen was remarkably stocked. I don't think we had to buy anything for the house while there. The house is very charming (though you might think about replacing the carpets}. The bed was very, very comfortable. The pup was as happy as can be with the back yard.. All-in-all it was a great place for two couples to stay

Perfect spot for a weekend getaway

This home was so perfect and I appreciate John making things so easy for us. We needed a spot that was centrally located to everything happening in SB during my sister's wedding weekend and this home had everything we needed and more. The two bedrooms were so comfortable and beautiful. The backyard was the perfect spot for our 2 year old son to run around. Thankfully, the house has AC which we totally needed as it was unseasonably warm that weekend. We walked every morning to State St. to grab breakfast since it was a short 5 min walk down the street. We can't wait to stay here again, John!

Lovely renovated cottage. A lot of amenities. Nice music system usable with phone app. Well appointed kitchen. Private outdoor patio perfect for breakfast. Easy walk to shops and restaurants and easily accessible to highway. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Comfortable and clean bungalow with all necessary amenities. Relaxing and beautiful yard. Great location, walking distance to so many great restaurants and shops. LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION!! I chose to buy this house due to the architectural qualities and the proximity, short walk, to downtown Santa Barbara. The house was built in 1910 and has unique charm. I have renovated focusing on maintaining the integrity of the period and adding modern conveniences. Every detail is thought out, from the Donald Kaufman interior paint to the mid-century lighting fixtures, many from Europe, and South America, many of which are pieces of art. I find furnishings from around the globe. No detail is too small. Everything is thought out with focus on aesthetics, functionality and comfort. I want your stay to be truly memorable. This is my seventh renovation/redo, including locations in New Orleans, Hanalei, the Big Island and Honolulu. Artwork includes collectors items from around the US, Europe and the South Pacific.
The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need- from daily necessities to thoughtful additions. If you you like to cook then our house has everything you need and more than you would ever expect.
