something for everyone in the Outer Banks

I booked this place for a family group spanning three generations, and we all really loved it; it had plenty of room for everyone and was well stocked and centrally located in OBX. We also found the owners to be super friendly.

Clean Accommodations, Great Location

We stayed here for a week in April. We found the Shore Shack clean and tidy. It had everything we needed to be comfortable. The upper level was great for our kids who enjoyed everything it offered. It is in the perfect location, steps from the beach, short drive to shopping and restaurants, and centrally located to all that is OBX. We highly recommend the Shore Shack!

Perfect place

Right in the middle of everything OBX has to offer. Fully stocked kitchen (equipment wise) which is unusual and very much appreciated as we cooked in a lot. We had great times playing pool and the two chairs by door upstairs are perfectly positioned to watch the morning sunrise

Great as always

This is a great property. We have a family of 7 and it's a great size. A couple minutes to walk to the beach. And you can jump in the hot tub (after washing the sand off!) when you come back. Nicely located by a Food Lion. We always have a fantastic time staying at this house!

Excellent Property and Hostess

My family and I had a wonderful vacation staying at the Shore Shack! The Hosts have thought of everything to make your stay enjoyable, and the location is perfect! You can listen to the ocean waves from the screened in porch and upper deck, relax in the hot tub, or in the hammock and swing under the deck! The outside shower and storage closet were very convenient as well as several foot rinse stations to keep sand out of the house.We also had access to the nearby Beach Club, which came in handy on the day of our arrival. Terry was quick to response to any questions, and left a handy guide book for us to use. The house is well laid out for our group of 6 people, with great views and plenty of activities! We highly recommend this home for your vacation in Nags Head.

First OBX vacay

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this house! For our first trip to OBX, it was more than adequate. We aren’t used to climbing dunes to get to the beach, but we ended up with stronger leg muscles lol. The house is more than stocked with every little item you could possibly need and then some! The owners are on top of any problem and very good at communicating! Our family was 10 and sometimes it was a tad small in the kitchen/dining area, but we made it work just fine. One trick is to keep the ice trays filled and you’ll be fine without having to buy ice everyday.

Fun for all ages!

As a repeat customer, this home never disappoints. It has beach character for sure. Rain or shine - there is enough room and space for all ages to hang out, play games, play pool, watch a movie or take a dip in the hot tub after playing outdoor games in the nicely manicured yard! The kitchen is equipped with plenty of items and utensils you need to make a meal. The owner is very responsive and friendly. Beach access is super easy over the dune. We plan to book again!

So many thoughtful details….a wonderful week!

Loved our week at Shore Shack! The location is perfect…we could bike to some of our favorite spots (Cookies and Cream….yum!!), and the beach was uncrowded and delightful, with a lifeguard stand nearby. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare and serve delicious feasts, and we loved the screened porch and top deck. The 2nd floor was a hit with the teens and all of us…love the pool table and the bar! Hot tub was super clean and the fact that it was covered made it a great way to spend a rainy day. Terry is such a kind and thoughtful host and it is obvious that she is invested in ensuring a great stay for all guests!

Family vacation 2024

Everything was just as the listing shared, if not better. The location was perfect! The ocean breeze made sitting out on the deck so peaceful and relaxing. The outdoor shower was a big hit-so much so that we’re adding one at home! The community pool was a bit crowded, but we were there during a holiday and the pool team shared its the busiest week of the year. We loved this spot and highly recommend! Thanks to the owners also for sending a forgotten toiletry bag-above and beyond!

Enjoyable Stay in Nags Head

My family and I haven’t been to Nags Head for years, but we had a fun stay at the Shore Shack. We liked that there were many spaces for all of us to hang out. The screened porch was great in the evening and during a few rainy times. There were plenty of supplies and the kitchen is well stocked. It was always cool in the house, but fans would be an appreciated addition in the king and queen bedrooms. We utilized the grassy area to play many games that were supplied. There’s also a refrigerator on every level. Our family had a great time on the beach very near the house with no roads to cross. There is a dune you must walk up to get there. The use of the community pool was also a wonderful amenity with this rental. We met the friendly owner upon our arrival and she was responsive with communication.

Fantastic Week

Property is exactly as described. Great location, clean and so much to do. This was one of our favorite houses and family vacations ever! Every want or need has been considered. Would definitely stay here again if we visit the Outer Banks again.

Great Family getaway

Our family of five truly enjoyed staying at the Shore Shack! We loved all the space on the mainfloor, the awesome game room on the top with great ocean views from the top deck, as well as the short walk to the beach. Thanks again for sharing your house with us! We hope to be back in the future! My 3 boys liked, that they didn't have to share rooms.

Great Home Away from Home

Enough room for everyone and even have privacy. The 2 levels were great. The location was fabulous. Decks were amazing. So close to the beach just make sure you can hike the dune.

April Vacation

We had a wonderful stay. Easy walk to the beach, great outdoor games for our family. We had everything we could have needed in the home. The location is convenient, set far enough away, yet close to stores/restaurants.Thank you for sharing your beautiful home! We hope to make it back another time.

We Made the Right Choice

This was our first family vacation without extended family and it was a fantastic because of this home. Location was truly unbeatable. Super close to the beach, the pool, stores, and restaurants. The property was spacious way beyond what we needed for a family of 4 and would have been great with another family too. Kids loved their bunk bed rooms. The top floor entertainment space and balcony was huge for us and we looked forward to the hot tub every night. We were able to ride out the last gasps of tropical storm Idalia safely and without incident. We will remember this place fondly and look forward to coming back to OBX again.

Great time!

We had a wonderful time! Loved the early morning coffee on the deck upstairs. Kids loved the bunk beds and the big room upstairs. We enjoyed the relaxing hot tub. Kitchen was well stocked for meal prep. Outside shower and rinse areas were great! This place had everything we needed!

Family Fun

We enjoyed being so close to the beach. No crossing the road. Kids enjoyed having a get away upstairs as did the big boys playing pool. Nice big table for family meals. Clean and very well stocked with kitchen needs.

Beautiful!

Beautiful home! Plenty of space! Great location! No problem with finding a spot on the beach. Dune walk was a work out for all, but that was the only slight inconvenience to our stay. Our family had a beautiful vacation. Will highly recommend. Thank you!!!

Great place

This was a great place to stay. There was plenty of space for everyone within the house. The upstairs was great to play games/music and relax at the end of the day. The house is a short hike up a dune to the ocean and is located in a great area for any type of shopping/needs may arise. There were several days/nights hanging out downstairs in the swings/hot tub. The house was clean and comfortable throughout the stay. I hope to book another vacation here in the future.
