We had a wonderful time at this beach bungalow! Perfect for our little family of 4 and the kids loved the bunk beds. My only complaints were 1. there is no full length mirror, maybe something the owners can consider getting one to hang on the master bedroom door. And 2. They were repaving the road during our stay which made it a bit difficult to get around. While that is out of the owners control, this has actually happened to us at a completely different rental, and the owner did give us a discount for the inconvenience. But overall it was a great stay and we would definitely come back!

Thanks for staying at This Place Cottage A and for the lovely review. We are glad the cottage provided the relaxed, family-friendly getaway you hoped for, which is the atmosphere we aim to create. We appreciate the suggestion about a full-length mirror and will add one to the master bedroom. Regarding the road work, that was unfortunate timing and we will be more proactive about notifying future guests when municipal projects are planned. We would love to welcome your family back.

Folly Beach

Perfect small house and only 4 blocks from a public beach access. Only improvement I would mention is the bed was too soft.

Cute and clean

Perfect for a family of four, very clean. Walkable to playground. Great modern beach house. Very small but has everything you need. Shower room was very popular with our children, barn door to bathroom may not be ideal for everyone. We stay at Folly several times a year and this is a place we would stay again.

Perfect Location.. just wish the bed was more comfy

Seriously an amazing location. Walking distance to the beach and rode our bikes into the center of town. The bed was so uncomfortable, we bought a mattress topper after 1 night of sleep. Just felt like it was going to save our backs since we were there a week.

Our stay was very disappointing. The toilet in our cottage was not working properly and began to overflow. We reached out to the host with the issue and a property manager arrived at the cottage and tried to resolve the issue with a plunger. This did not work so we were moved to cottage C. In cottage C the chain in the back of the toilet was broken so the toilet would not flush. Because of this we had to take the back of the toilet off and manually flush the toilet every time we needed to use the toilet. I reached out to the host multiple times during our stay and received no resolution until the last day of our stay. A plumber arrived on our last day and resolved the issue. Because of the unresponsiveness of the host I would like to be reimbursed for the inconvenience. However, after multiple attempts to rectify the situation I only receive responses that they are looking into it.

Overall, this was an okay place to stay for a quick beach trip, but there were several issues that impacted our experience. The bed was extremely uncomfortable, and the mattress felt very worn and broken down. We also had a package delivered about an hour before check-in, but when we arrived it was missing. We contacted customer service, and thankfully it was returned two days later. We appreciated that it was found, but unfortunately it was near the end of our stay, so we weren’t able to use it for what we had planned. We were told we would receive a message when the property was ready for check-in, but never did. When we arrived, the lockbox code we were given didn’t work, and we had to wait for Castaway to respond and direct us to a different lockbox with the correct code. The washing machine also would not work, which made things especially challenging while traveling with young children. On the positive side, the large indoor shower was a huge hit with the kids and was perfect for rinsing off after the beach. The location was convenient, and the home served its purpose for a short stay.Overall, the home could use some refreshing, particularly the mattress, pillows, couch, and a few maintenance items. With a few updates, it could provide a much more comfortable experience.
