Malin is a great host. If you are looking to stay in Rockland, you won't find a better place for the price. She has been hosting people from what I can tell about 20 years. A wonderful home where our kids did not want to go home to Florida. Would absolutely stay again here if we look to go back to Rockland.

Beautiful property. Malin has thought of everything that you'd need for a stay of any duration. Would rent again in a heartbeat and give a 5-star recommendation for The Perch! Hope to see you in the summers to come!

Perfect little “Perch”

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at “The Perch”. From the comfortable living room and bedrooms, to the bright and cheery dining room, we enjoyed the space. The convenient kitchen and overall location to a walk along the water or to town to explore shops, cafes and restaurants, topped it all off nicely.🙂 We would definitely stay here again.

Another wonderful stay at The Perch

We were thrilled with our return visit to The Perch. This house is by far the best equipped of any place I have ever stayed. The owner has thought of everything and is so accommodating. We can’t wait to visit again next summer.

Comfortable, Clean and Convenient

We were in Rockland visiting my sister. The Perch was perfect for our stay. We enjoyed being able to walk to downtown and the waterfront. Nice quiet neighborhood.

Cute and comfy cottage

Enjoyed my stay at the Perch. Malin was a fantastic host and very helpful. The house is in a quiet neighborhood with not much traffic. I did not notice any car noise. Main Street is close by and so is the harbor walking trail. I felt like I was staying at a friend’s house. I wish I would have been there when all the flowers and plants were in full bloom and leaf, It’s got to be gorgeous.

The Perch

Malin is a most gracious host. She thought of everything you might need plus extras. The bed was very comfortable. The living room was very cozy, plenty of seating; however, my husband is a bit handicapped and the chairs were so low he brought in a deck chair for comfort. The kitchen was wonderful. Plenty of paper goods, spices, dishes and pots and pans. The house was very clean and decorated the way you would expect a New England home to be. Beautiful area.

GiGi’s visit with Grandkids!

My guys and was supposed to come with me but had to stay behind for a funeral! Malin was a great communicator and made check in very easy! I loved the coded doors!!Everything was as you see in photos of property!Clean, cozy, artistic,eclectic, comfortable!The kitchen was very well equipped although I did little more than boil water!The bed downstairs was comfortable with nice crisp sheets!There were fleece blanketed for those of us who are always cold!The shower was strong and the additional assist handle was appreciated climbing in the claw foot tub!Lots of instructions in the provided notebook!!The location was handy to town and my family!It was a great stay!!Thank you for sharing your cottageGsil G.

Spectacular September Stay at The Perch

As new "empty nesters," my husband and I spent the month of September at The Perch, working remotely and enjoying Maine. The Perch is everything that other reviewers have said and more - comfortable, charming, clean, and fully stocked (kitchen supplies, condiments, cleaning supplies, extra towels and sheets). The WiFi supported two remote workers and the deck and garden were especially lovely for coffee breaks. And the location was perfect for exploring Rockland by foot (with downtown, the Thursday farmer's market, Sandy Beach, Newty's ice cream, and Jess's seafood market close by) and the wider area by car. (The Owl's Head Lighthouse, Birch Point State Park, and Ash Point preserve are less than a ten minute drive from the house.) Malin was a wonderful host, providing information about Rockland and area happenings (thank you for the Common Ground Fair recommendation), bestowing gifts, and checking in to ensure everything was running smoothly. All in all a wonderful stay!

Truly outstanding place in central coast of Maine

We had a great experience at The Perch. Malin, the owner and host, is very friendly and helpful. We had great communications with her before and during our six week stay. The property shows that it is treated like her own home. Her furnishing, care and management of the property are what you would do for yours. Nicely spacious rooms - kitchen, master bedroom, living room, dining room, and bathroom. Kitchen and laundry appliances are near new and in excellent condition. Furniture is comfortable and suited to the guest capacity. The host provided a well equipped kitchen and ample household supplies. We prepared and ate most of our meals there. The heating systems we used, kitchen heat pump / AC and forced air, worked well and kept The Perch comfortable for our winter stay. On nice days we enjoyed the fresh air on the back deck and the space of the back yard. A very relaxing and cozy place to stay. Wonderful neighborhood with close assess distance to: downtown Rockland shopping and eating, the sea coast walking path, Southend Grocery (great pizza), Jess’s Market (local and fresh seafood) and ocean view park for dog outings. Multiple things to visit in driving distance. Finding The Perch was a stroke of good luck. We’re glad we did. It was everything we needed for a great visit.

Very cozy cottage style house in a quiet neighborhood, just a short walk to the harbor or to downtown Rockland. This is the second year that I have stayed at the Perch and cannot wait to return. The Rockland harbor walk is just down the street which takes you around the harbor and to the downtown shops, museums, and restaurants. The outside deck is perfect for morning coffee. Quiet, comfortable, convenient. perfect.

A great month long stay

The Perch is one of the most fully equipped rental properties I have ever stayed in. Malin seemed to think of everything to meet your needs. The kitchen is fully equipped. And she thought of things, such as beach towels, umbrellas, flashlights, books, puzzles, etc It is a quirky and fun style and it is very comfortable. The location is great as you can walk to the harbor or to a restaurant in town in about 10 minutes. It is a short drive to the grocery store or Walmart. Malin promptly answered my questions when I first looked at the property. She sent a long detailed email about the house before I arrived. I would highly recommend a stay here.

1st time to Maine

We went to celebrate our anniversary & 1st time to Maine to visit as much of the coast that we could. This home was perfect for us & located in a great spot for walking around Rockland & day trips along the Maine coast. Great recommendations & support from the owner throughout our stay.

Great location for a relaxing vacation

The Perch is the perfect spot for a Maine vacation. Quick walk to the beach, shops and restaurants but a block of the main road for a quieter night. Malin was a great host, and the house was perfect for our family of four.

Comfortable home

We had an extended stay at The Perch while I was working nearby. The Perch felt like being at my own home. The kitchen is well stocked and easy to use. We were comfortable and would recommend this rental.

Almost perfect

We did not use upstairs or dining room. Living room and kitchen were excellent and well equipped. At the risk of sounding petty we hated the mismatched chartreuse and forest green sheets. Sort of thrift storesque. Some newish plain white ones would have been great. Also the house has a pungent damp smell upon entering which you get used to. We have no idea how one would get rid of this problem. We loved being able to walk to town.

Great choice for our much needed getaway!!

The "Perch" was a great choice for our much needed getaway. The location is convenient to access all the area has to offer, and the property has a fully equipped kitchen and laundry room. We really liked that is was spacious, had lots of natural light and a lovely yard and deck to relax on. The fact that the large bedroom and bath were on the first floor made for easy access and there are two additional bedrooms upstairs for a larger family. We would definitely recommend the Perch for your Maine stay.
