So Charming

I grew up in Arcata and have always appreciated the work it takes to keep up older homes, this was an absolutes beaut!The owners have done a fabulous job on their home and we loved our time there! We found the cottage to be a charming, cozy space for two as a base for exploring Arcata and the redwoods. Loved the location and walkability to the plaza, dining, and the community park.

Sweet Cottage

The cottage is small best for two but can accommodate 4 with the pull out sofa. It is nicely decorated in a vintage style and all linens, pillows, coffee, soap, tea etc. were of good quality. Great location within walking distance to Arcata's plaza.

Beautiful Place, Great Location!

My daughter and I stayed at the Rose Court Cottage during drop off for her first year as a transfer student at CSU Humboldt. Christy was a wonderful host and so accommodating and helpful! The cottage and garden entry is so lovely and peaceful! The bed was very comfortable and the shower was great! We loved the convenient location to both Cal Poly and the town… especially loved walking just across the street to Wildflower grocery store which has a great coffee and juice bar! Will definitely be back!

Cozy, comfortable, and great location

It's a short walk to just about everything in Arcata (including a grocery store right across the street) from Christy's Rose Court Cottage. And the cottage itself was clean, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. We especially enjoyed the lovely private patio/seating area surrounded by roses. Christy is a terrific host--very responsive and concerned for her guests.

Home Away From Home

This cottage was our west coast home for two weeks while visiting our daughter. It provided all the amenities that are needed and the location to downtown Arcata was great! The town offers good walking trails along the bay and the beer breweries are many. Your access to the redwoods parks is plentiful and the beaches are inviting. We would definitely rent this cottage again and hope to return soon.

THIS WAS A VERY CLEAN CUTE PLACE. PERFECT LOCATION. IT WAS MUCH SMALLER THAN I EXPECTED. SOMEONE WAS ALWAYS IN OUR PARKING SPACE. NEXT RENTAL I WOULD LIKE A HOUSE WITH A BEDROOM.

We loved the Rose Court Cottage. Clean, close to downtown, easy access to 101. Christy was very responsive and the rental was completely set up. Coffee, creamers, great towels. Warm cute cottage with a wonderful bed. Loved sitting outside on the private court. We would rent again! thanks Christy! Wonderful place

Lumberjack Getback Reunion Trip to Arcata

Traveled to Arcata for a college reunion. The Rose Court Cottage was the perfect home base for my husband and I! The cottage was clean, comfortable and cozy. We really enjoyed the front patio area with the fountain/fish pond and all the beautiful flowers. Christy has really done a great job at creating this little cottage oasis in Arcata. We had everything we needed in the cottage and enjoyed the walkable distances to all our Arcata favorites: HSU (now CPH-Cal Poly Humboldt), Los Bagels, Wildberries Market, the Co op, the Crabs baseball field, and all of the businesses around the Arcata Plaza. Christy was an excellent hostess. We will highly recommend the Rose Court Cottage to our friends and family.

Very nice accommodation in central Arcata.

Clean and comfortable. Good size for 1-2 people who want to be based in town. Enjoyed the little outdoor table and garden. Came in handy with the lockdown rules, as we had to order takeout to eat at home.

Quaint Cottage in Arcata, CA

Pros: Cozy, clean, comfortable and location was perfect (walk across the street to Wild Berries Market & The Square is about just 4 blocks.) Check-in was easy and Christy was very welcoming upon arrival and showed up where everything was located and how to work the TV, DVD etc. We loved that we had a beautiful private entrance. Lots of extras were provided, such as toiletries and kitchen supplies. Not a lot of street noise. Cons: Small but was functional for the two of us. Additional adult occupants might feel crowded. Not a lot of storage for clothes, and the closet was pretty small (we had lots of cold weather items). All and all we would recommend the Rose Court Cottage.

I have had a love affair with Arcata since I moved here 50 years ago to attend Humboldt State University, renamed Cal Poly Humboldt. I graduated and could not leave this special place; our progressive kinda quirky little university town is like none other. Rose Court Cottage is adjacent to my downtown Tudor Revival residence, just 4 short blocks to Arcata Plaza.

The abundance of natural beauty just minutes away in any direction is phenomenal: the tallest most majestic redwood trees in the world, miles of unspoiled rugged coastline, sand dunes, lagoons, six beautiful rivers, ever changing Humboldt Bay, and Wildlife Refuges, to name a few. The redwood coast offers diverse recreational opportunities which attract visitors from around the world. Since opening in 2004, I have hosted a good number of those visitors here at Rose Court Cottage and guided them to the unique features of our area. I have developed friendships with guests who return again and again to visit their CPH students or family living in the area, attend our many festivals and events, conduct business, or come back to a getaway that they love. It is the perfect base from which to make day trips to the natural wonders of our region, and return at the end of the day to a cozy cottage with all the comforts of home.
