Beautiful large home in Smith Mountain LAKE. We had a large group. We were extremely comfortable and felt like it was nicely cleaned. There were some nice new appliances in the kitchen that felt fully stocked for our cooking needs. Views from the deck and dock were amazing!

Thank you Ashley for another great stay. For other guests....this house is 7 bedrooms and accommodates 20. Six full bathrooms, large kitchen, large dining, large game room, and large dock. We were overjoyed that this home had plenty of deep water during this summer of low lake levels. Our boat picked up 10 feet so we won't be hesitating to rebook for next year! Thank you so much!

The inside of the house was clean and spacious. Lots of problems with appliances not working. The outside was in a state of neglect and disrepair and was disgusting.

Wind Family Estate turned out to be exactly what we needed for a relaxing getaway with some friends. We did make this a last minute booking but Ashley seemed prepared and had everything ready for us to check in. This house is like a movie. The tall ceilings are impressive. The kitchen appears to have some new appliances as well as having everything we could imagine needing. We appreciated the linens and towels provided and the cleanliness of everything. The kids had a great time in the game room. The dock was perfect for relaxing. I was able to paddle with the paddle board with one of my friends for several hours one day. We sat in the porch for hours in the evening and it seemed bug free with the perfect temperature. I highly recommend this property along with working with Ashley at any others!

We had a nice time staying at Smith Mountain Lake. The dock was perfect for us to all play off of it because it had plenty of space. The location is perfect because of the deep water in the area of the lake. The view of the mountain is amazing. The home was also very clean with plenty of space for us to enjoy our time. Ashley was very responsive with questions. We will definitely return. We haven’t found anywhere this accommodating for a large group.

The host Ashley was very responsive! House is a great property for 15 people. Lots of space. Dock was great for everyone to hang out on. Water level was very low during our stay with our boat rental but that was out of everyone’s control. We made do. Having Mitchell’s marina close by was very helpful. House is spread out and everyone had a bed. Kitchen wasn’t as well stocked as we hoped, mainly with silverware. Also the lights to the dock(on stair pathway) were not working so we had to use our phone flash light at night. It would have been so pretty to see them working bc the house is a great location and would have been nice to see it accented with lights. Overall a great stay for a family vacation. (Ages ranged from 79 to 13 years of age.)

Amazing stay in a massively large house that’s for sure! No wonder it’s hard to book. Don’t pass this one by. It’s also on the best area of the lake with amazing views and deep water for swimming fishing and boating. Thank you, Ashley for your hospitality. We will be back.

On the positive side, the home features a beautiful layout, gorgeous views from all windows & ideal spaces on the deck & common rooms for large gatherings. We were initially very impressed. However, as we settled in, several issues arose: - Folded sheets were left on the beds for us to make ourselves upon arrival after a long trip. - No shampoo, conditioner, soap were provided. Not a necessity, just an inconvenience - Tubs lacked shower mats, grab bars, hooks, and proper floor mats. - Multiple lightbulbs were burnt out, several light switches were non-functional & the door locks & handles were very stiff. - The house, especially the downstairs, was extremely cold & took several days to reach a comfortable temperature. - Several bedrooms had limited or no closet space & lacked hanging rods. - Most of the interior was quite dusty and unwashed; wiping down rails, windowsills, etc. left paper towels brown. - Game Room BR: Shower curtain did not fit, the tub mat found under the sink had apparent mold, toilet lid was loose & a dirty bed blanket required washing. - Basement BR: Door lacked proper locks (a screw was placed in the wood to keep it closed), shower curtain was ill-fitting. - Game Room: Shuffleboard surface was sticky: unusable, ping pong paddles were old/one had a broken handle - Decks & Dock: cluttered, boards need to be replaced. A beautiful home but requires TLC, The current rental price does not reflect the condition of the housing provided.

We have stayed at many rentals on the lake and even though this one is likely older than some others, it’s definitely the best. Clean and spacious home with plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms. Amazing entwining area upstairs. Great cove, great view, in one of the best spots of the lake. Just don’t book my week!

The house is great. Tons of space and a great location on the lake. The house is a bit dated and could use some upgrades / updates, but was very comfortable and worked well for me and my friends. There was a lot of old and damaged stuff down at the dock, so a good clean-up could be in order in the off-season.

Lake House

Great lake house with all the amenities one needs to be content at the lake. The location is great and convenient to Mitchel's point marina for boat rentals, ice, etc. The owner is especially respondent and helpful which is a game changer. We will stay here again for sure!

This is not a luxury property as advertised. We arrived to a dirty house with dried food on the walls, cobwebs and dead spiders in the bedrooms, dirty kitchen cupboards, appliances that either didn’t work at all or half way worked, light fixtures in the kitchen that didn’t just need a new light bulb, they needed an electrician, drywall damage, and numerous broken tiles throughout the house.We had a beautiful view of the lake but the dock is unsafe. The owner has “repaired”the dock with duct tape in several places and there are several other parts of the dock that have rotten wood that is very soft when you walk over it. There are two levels of dock that just have a leaning ladder they expect you to use to get from one level to the next. Very unsafe.I called the owner who sent out a repairman but all he did was nail a board at the foot of the ladder on the dock so we didn’t fall. I asked the owner to please send out a cleaning person but I never got a response.Every day there was something. A toilet tank overflowed in the hallway bathroom, when it rained the skylight in the master bathroom leaked, we put a towel in the master bathroom back on the towel ring and the ring fell off the wall, etc. This was the worst rental property we’ve ever stayed in. I asked the owner for a refund and of course, I heard nothing. This house should not be rented until there are major repairs and cleaning completed.

The location and house were great! We loved the set up of bedrooms and game room, the situation with having to drive 10 minutes away to throw away garbage was less than ideal, we had a pick up truck but if you didn’t it would have been a pretty disgusting endeavor. The dock is wood, splintered bare feet.

Great Stay

We had a wonderful stay at Smith Mountain Lake in October! The views from this home are amazing esp of the mountain. The house is really spacious and everyone enjoyed their own rooms. Looks like some recently added carpet. We were pleased with the cleanliness. The family was happy to gather in such a nice space. Ashley was really helpful. We look forward to returning.

Beautiful large home on the lake!

Our family had an amazing stay at Smith Mountain Lake. This home is oversized with plenty of space for everyone in our family. The kids had plenty of space to play while the adults could gather. One of the cleaner lake homes I’ve stayed in. Loved the Mountain View’s and Porch to sit on. The dock had lots of space for everyone to use at the same time. Refreshing getaway with our large family.

Good family rental

We really enjoyed the views from the property. The lake and the dock was great. The inside could need a little more love. There were a lot of things that were partially broken, carpet needs replaced, and many walls need painted. We had a large group, and we had a great time. Many positives about the place. FOr the price that we paid and for the listing as a luxury property, we were a little disappointed. But we had a good time.

Best Views at Smith Mountain Lake

This is an extremely accommodating home with bathrooms in all the bedrooms and never ending space. There are actually 7 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. There is enough space for 22 people to sleep in beds. Not just the 12. Recommendation to future renters is to reach out to Ashley to make sure you can bring your large group! The best part are the knockout views of Smith Mountain in this perfect protected cove. Most places on the lake with this view are in choppy water from the boat traffic. You have a nice cove for swimming and relaxing views! Check this place out!

Large home that accommodated all!

We had a wonderful getaway with friends to Smith Mountain Lake in December. This is such a large home that accommodates a large group of adults nicely. Lots of living spaces and bathrooms. There definitely seemed to be some new finishes even though this is an older home. Everything seemed clean, tidy, and well kept which is ore important than new. Everything seemed as described on the online listing for booking. Ashley was great to work with and we enjoyed our Wind Vineyards wine she had left us! Neighborhood felt safe and quiet. We look forward to returning to this one!
