great stay

We enjoyed our stay and Phyllis was incredibly helpful and accommodating. i would definitely recommend this cabin for a lake side getaway.

There was 11 of us. Each couple had their own room. . We rented pontoon and jet skies from moon marina had an excellent time.

Quiet and Secluded

We loved our stay at Driftwood! There were 8 adults and we found the house to have plenty of space to cook, eat, play games, and relax. The deer come right up to the house here! You may wish to note that the driveway is very steep and the roads leading to the house are curvy. The host was great, she answered all of my questions quickly.

Great location and home

We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay with 21 family members reuniting. Plenty of space, lots of kitchen space and supplies, located right on a great lake spot for fishing, skiing, tubing and etc. We will definitely be back!

Driftwood Retreat

Our family gathered here for a weekend. We're from Missouri, Tennessee, and Georgia...so getting to see each other is difficult. The house was perfect for accommodating seven adults and three children. Everything was spotless. The kids enjoyed the lake while one son caught three gigantic catfish!! We will definitely be returning! Thanks so much! accommodating .

Great family get away

House was spacious and the nautical decorations were fun and attractive. We could spread out and there were three generations of us. Loved being right on the water. Phyllis was a delight to work with.

*Great place!

Love your VRBO. Everything was great. Lots of kitchen stuff, lots of bedding, lots of towels, our family of 16 had plenty of room, even to all sit down and eat together. Everything needed for the campfire, including roasting utensils. Driveway is steep, deer is plentiful. The dock is great to have. Rented a double decker pontoon and a jet ski. We had a great time making memories in this place, went to the beach one day also.

Family Vacation

Had a very nice stay and was pleased with propertly. WI-FI internet connection not great. Not able to use indoor pool at Lake Barclay Resort due to expired membership. Very nice kitchen and well equipped.

Great place for family fun!

Our multi-generational group of grandparents, parents, and grandchildren had a great time at this property. The large gathering area had plenty of room for playing games and eating for our party of 17. Many started each day with fishing off the dock giving some of our grandkids their first chance to reel one in! We brought a lauching pad for the kids to jump on in the water and they loved that. The kitchen was stocked very well and we used it a lot. We loved watching the deer from the deck too. Whitney, the host, was very responsive to texts. We would definitely stay here again! Thanks for the opportunity for us to be together in one space!

Driftwood Retreat

Family came from around the country for a fabulous reunion week! The house was clean, comfortable, well decorated, and well stocked with many amenities. We had a houseful of people, from small kids to adults, with no complaints. There is a great view of the lake and the location is in a more secluded area, very little water traffic. Nice to have a slip for the jet ski. Thanks to Phyllis for everything!

Loved this getaway!

We did a 14 person getaway trip for the weekend with the whole family. The house was in a wonderful location, with deer and squirrels in abundance. We use the fire pit two nights in a row. The grill was one of the Nicer charcoal grills that we’ve seen at a property. The house was very roomy. The pool table was in good shape. The DIRECTV, what little bit we used, worked really well. Plenty of room in the refrigerators. We never really ran out of hot water. For the most part, the beds are pretty comfortable, and the pillows were wonderful. The only drawback is the fact that they wanted all of the dishes done and put away, and you couldn’t leave until the towels were put in the dryer. It’s pretty difficult to get all of that done on the morning you’re supposed to leave. However, we did it. It was a wonderful place and no one really wanted to leave.

Great getaway for family vacation on a lake!

Thank you sooooo much for opening your fabulous lake house for my family get-together!! We had a terrific time using all the amenities. The weather was perfect- boated two days, and used our kayaks...got to use the fire pit because it cooled down at night AND as you know..I LOVED THE HOT TUB! Game night at the big table...went into town to see the Art Museum and the antique shops and they had a music fest on Saturday...Enjoyed the local restaurants! Bedding is waaay comfy! Enough equipment in the kitchen and in the linen closet to make it a perfect long weekend! Thanks AGAIN!!!

Good place

Host very responsive. Overall we were very happy with the accommodations. The property is quite steep. Parking is fine for several cars. Walking up and down to lake is very challenging for anyone not in good shape. Elderly family member was restricted on movement due to steepness. Loved the numerous bedrooms and bathrooms. Kitchen was adequately supplied. Master suite was very suitable. Bring your own paper towels, toilet paper, bathing supplies and laundry soap. adequately secluded but helpful neighbor. Lots of deer. second refrigerator was a huge help. Plenty of room for everyone to mingle on decks. We enjoyed our stay and would reccommend.

Family vacation - 18 people

Working with Phyllis was an easy process from start to finish. We had a family of 18 (9 adults, 9 kids). Driftwood is an updated lake house with every accommodation you could possibly need for a large group. It was clean & maintained. There is a hot tub, fire pit & direct access to Lake Barkley. Phyllis met us when we arrived and made sure we had everything we needed during our stay. We highly recommend this rental. Thank you Phyllis! Our family had a fantastic time during our stay.

Family Fun Vacation - 12 people

We loved our stay at the Driftwood. We had 12 people and more than enough room for everyone to be comfortable. We had a wide variety of interests and ages, everyone had a great time and loved staying at the Driftwood property. Working with Phyllis for about a year on making this trip as easy as possible could not have been a more pleasant experience. The house was spacious, immaculate and well appointed. The pictures of this property do not do it justice, we were pleasantly surprised when we arrived. We would not hesitate to stay at this property again. The Driftwood was amazing and Phyllis was wonderful to work with, thank you for helping to make our visit so great.

Perfect location

First I want to start with what a beautiful location! The deer presence is heavy and the water is perfect. This place has plenty of space for MANY people. We brought our boat down and used the dock which was very handy! The place has some plumbing issues. The primary bathroom toilet leaked around the base the entire time. It also is in desperate need of a deep clean. It was dirty. Hair in the couches, mold in the showers, etc. Very well stocked for any meals you may want to cook though!! I do suggest a gas grill. Wonderful!!!

We had 15 in our group, 8 adults and our 7 grandchildren ages 1 year to 13. It was so nice and peaceful. The home is beautifully decorated, and so much space for all of us. There is a mobile hotspot which we did not use, and half of our phones didn't have signal, but we didn't mind because we were there to relax. We really enjoyed the back deck, and all the wildlife, especially the deer that we saw daily. Our fishermen really enjoyed the dock, and our 6 year old grandson caught a 5lb catfish, a memory I am sure will last a lifetime. Thank you Phyllis for sharing this beautiful home we would love to come back again.

Perfect Fit

The house was much more than we expected. Our group of 11 never felt crowded. The kitchen was very well equipped. Having two refrigerators was a major plus. We only ate away from the cabin twice in seven days. In addition to the awesome kitchen we used the charcoal grill and the fire pit. There was a lot of outdoor spaces with great shade. There was an abundance of wildlife. Deer, squirrels, raccoons, and a variety of song birds were all over the property. We used the dock for our boat. It made it so convenient to enjoy the lake. Everyone we met in Cadiz was so friendly. We enjoyed the 400 Mile yard sale and went antiquing. The walk from the dock to the house was a little steep, but no one in our group had any issues. There was so much to do in the area. Our week flew by. Highly recommend this rental for larger groups who love the outdoors.

Stop looking! You've found your vacation get-a-way!

The review's of Driftwood Retreat couldn't have been more spot on. Anything we needed for our stay was right at our fingertips. Fully stocked kitchen made mealtime so easy. Linen closet FULL of clean , white washcloths and towels. We had 14 folks showering every morning and never ran out of HOT water. Several of our group fished the boat dock daily, and caught a variety of fish. Crappie, small mouth bass, catfish, and the popular bluegill were abundant. We rented a 36ft pontoon on Saturday from the Marina and brought it back to the Driftwood to refill our coolers. Phyllis gets it right when she says "Your family fun begins here" Thank you again. Was a very nice property. Didn’t realize too get to water their was such a long hill. I’m in wheelchair and only once was I able to get with help down to water. Steep driveway as well, should let guests know there cars should be 4 wheel drive. Obviously we were in the woods, an outlet on the deck would be nice for a blue light to draw bugs away. Every morning we had to sweep away dead bugs by the sliding doors, blue lights keep bugs away from inside the home.Did get an email about lawn people coming but got while they were mowing. Thank goodness all of us were up. No locks on basement doors. Cottage does need some work done as far as painting, caulking. We did enjoy the 2 refrigerators as we keep all children drinks in one and a twelve pack of beer , with 2 bottles of wine in the other

Christmas in October family party

This beautiful big home was perfect for our big family to gather at. The 2 levels gave everyone space, the huge decks were lovely to sit and visit, watch the many deer in the yard, view sunsets from. Whitney answered all my inquiries in a timely manner. She even had a new load of firewood delivered since I told her we loved evening fires. The kitchen was amazing with everything you needed for cooking and some nice pantry staples. The house was very well insulated and there was no noise from other rooms. We all enjoyed the views, the lake, playing pool, the hot tub. Even with the fall drawdown of the lake level Whitney mentioned we could maybe launch kayaked from the shore . So we brought ours with us and used the one at the house and the young adults had a blast paddling the lake. At one point we had 7 rigs parked in the space by the house as 4 from our family just joined us for the day. So there is ample room for a crowd. Beds were comfy and lots of blankets, and plenty of towels etc clean and ready to use. The washer/dryer were very efficient and always a plus to have available . Guys enjoyed being able to watch a football game on tv that had lots of channels available. None of us left to go anywhere there was so much to do right there at this beautiful property for our long weekend together.

We loved sharing our home (Edgewater Retreat) . Our guest said that they loved our home and enjoyed working with us. They were not happy because it stayed booked all the time. They kept wanting time that we didn't have open. This home Driftwood came open and was near our other one. So we took it on in order to try to help our guest that wanted to come back for a visit.
We are so excited with Driftwood.
We just love meeting and sharing our homes with our guest.
Its nice to help make family memories .
