ASPENHUS, en historisk stuga med 3 sovrum och 2 badrum, rymmer upp till 8 personer i en kung, två drottningar och en bäddsoffa med rulla. Ett av hemets två badrum är stängt under vintermånaderna på grund av dess plats (utanför lerrummet).

Även om vårt hem historiska charm är en nyckelteckning, finns det ingen brist på moderna bekvämligheter som WiFi och satellit-TV, ett fullt utrustat kök, tvättmaskin / torktumlare, pelletskamin och elektrisk värme. Det finns parkering för upp till tre små fordon i uppfarten och gatuparkering finns också under sommaren.

ASPEN HUS är också känt som George Wright House, byggt 1878, och ligger några steg från historiska platser och stora äventyr. Kabinens pittoreska struktur ligger på Historic Oak Street, som går längs floden Uncompahgre och är en del av Perimeter Trail. Dess pittoreska vita struktur ligger ungefär en kvarts mil från Box Canon Falls, Ouray Ice Park och Main Street-butiker och restauranger.

De fri utsikt från ASPEN HUS är oöverträffad! Titta över Ouray, Cascade Falls, Chief Ouray Mine och många andra landmärken inklusive de vackra, höga topparna (inklusive Mt. Abram, Mt. Hayden och Amfiteatern) som omger denna lilla bergsstad. Se vilda djur från alla rum. Alla rum har utsikt!

ASPEN HOUSE ligger bara 1/2 mil från den historiska Ouray Hot Springs-poolen som inte är svavel, där du kan njuta av badbassänger, 25 meters varv, konditionsträning, massagespa och snackbar ... och poolen ligger bredvid Fellin Park .. .baseball diamant, basketplan, lusthus, lekplats och asfalterad springbana. Gå ut genom dörren och hitta vägen till många vandringsleder, gruvruiner och till och med spökstäder. Ouray är känd som Jeep Capital of the World, Gem of the Rockies, och börjar den vackra Million Dollar Highway (Highway 550) genom San Juan-bergen till Silverton. Historic Ouray Home

Bruce and Tamara are wonderful hosts. Their historic home is comfortable and has amazing views. The location is super convenient to restaurants, shops, hot springs, and hiking. You might also see mule deer and bears in the hood.

Historic Home in Ouray

Great location! Waking up every day to the sight of mountains surrounding us was amazing. Bruce and Tamara are wonderful hosts and very helpful with local information.

Fantastic month's stay in Ouray!

Aspen House has the most spectacular views in Ouray--just outside the front door! My husband and I enjoyed an "empty-nester dry run" vacation month at Aspen House--a charming century+ old cabin that has undergone many updates (and will undergo a few more soon!). We were able to work remotely part of the time (wifi is dependable!), then walk to nearby trailheads in the off hours/days. The kitchen was well-equipped for our cooking needs, but we also enjoyed checking out the local eateries as well--a surprisingly large range of cuisine in such a small town! We were sad to not need the new gas stove most of the month, but can vouch for its effectiveness the first couple of nights. On warm days, the house stayed cool and comfortable. There was ample room both inside and outside to spread out and enjoy some quiet time (see the new stone patio!). My favorite spot was on the front porch. Tamara and Bruce live next door and are friendly and happy to chat or give you space as needed. If you love dogs, you will find furry hosts Angel and Charlie to be quite welcoming! :) The house instructions were thorough and informative. Many thoughtful touches (soap, toiletries, paper goods, extra linens, etc) could be found throughout the house, along with historic accents, including an original photo of the cabin. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend Aspen House to our friends and family! Thanks, Tamara and Bruce!!

Great location and place

I enjoyed being in this place... to be in it was like going back in time to the late 1800s. The home is clean, newly remodeled inside and looks awesome on the outside. It is as advertised, close to town, churches, and entertainment. The location on Oak Street is without doubt the best scenic location in Ouray (pronounced Uray). Ouray is one of the nations most beautiful cities. It rises above sea level about 8000 feet. Cool summer time and cooler winter times. I enjoy ever breathe of CO air that I take. Spend time here JUST ONE TIME and you will return, guaranteed!!!!!

Bruce and Tamara Gulde have lived in Ouray, Colorado for 14 years. They own retail shops and a wholesale business on Main Street (talk to them about discounts you may receive at their store). They are transplants from Long Beach, California with Colorado roots (their moms) and discovered Ouray over 17 years ago while driving north on Highway 550 to Snowmass to a running event after a brief backpack trip at Crater Lake out of Lake Andrew. After deciding to move to this tiny mining town, they purchased their home (built in 1888) in Ouray on the internet and then discovered that Tamara's great grandmother was eternally resting in the Ouray Cemetery, her daughter (Tamara's great aunt) had worked in the historic Beaumont Hotel.

Vad som gör detta boende unikt

ASPEN HOUSE, fully furnished, has an energy about it that is peaceful and relaxing. It was originally a log cabin built by Edward W. McIntyre, owner of the Trout and Fisherman Lodes, in 1878. George and Lenora Wright purchased the cabin in 1879 (George struck it rich on the Wheel of Fortune Lode in the Mt. Sneffels area in 1877) and covered it with white siding a year or so later. The bay windows were added sometime after 1901. George Wright eventually managed and owned the historic Wright Opera House on Main Street. Sitting in the Adirondack chairs or a rocking chair on the front porch enjoying the morning sun or afternoon shade is fun and engaging as hikers and walkers pass by enjoying the Ouray view and Victorian homes that line the narrow road. Cascade Falls, across town, is visible from most rooms in the house and the porch. It is one of two waterfalls accessible in town and flows clear and white in the spring, periodically chocolate brown during the Monsoon rains in July and August, a trickle in the fall and then freezes in the winter. The view the 4th of July fireworks from the ASPEN HOUSE porch is second to none. Watch the amphitheater turn crimson, a moonrise from the porch, and vehicles climb the Million Dollar Highway at night.
