Den vackra Santa Fe River och dess mÄnga orörda fjÀdrar ligger precis vid din dörr frÄn den hÀr lilla, vÀlutrustade stugan i skogen. Koppla av i en lugn, privat, lÄgteknologisk miljö omgiven av Moder Nature. Staden High Springs med antikviteter, presentbutiker och restauranger ligger 6 miles away; Gainesville (och UF Gators) Àr 30 miles away. Vackra parker och vÄrmatade floder och vandrings- / cykelleder ligger i nÀrheten. Cave dykare och snorkling pÄ vÀrldsberömda Ginnie Springs ligger 1 mile upriver. Kano / kajak / float / simma / koppla av i floden och fjÀdrar 100 meter frÄn stugdörren.
Kabinen Àr fullt utrustad med AC / vÀrme, kylskÄp, mikrovÄgsugn och kokplatta, alla redskap och sÀngklÀder tillhandahÄlls. Badrummet har toalett och dusch. Vi har en bekvÀm full size sÀng, DVD-spelare, DVD, spel och böcker. Utanför hittar du en skÀrmad veranda för att titta pÄ vilda djur och fÄglar. Vi har en bar-b-que och en eldstaden. HÀngmattan svÀnger mellan tvÄ skuggiga trÀd.
Porten frÄn stugan leder till en liten, orörd fjÀder precis vid floden Santa Fe.

Summer weekend at the river

Perfect Getaway

Very relaxing and quiet!

Awesome and beautiful being right next to the springs. Nice walking through the trails and seeing all the wildlife. We brought our dog and he had a blast we will definitely be coming back in the summer.

Amazing 👏

The property was so beautiful and private! The host was very friendly and so helpful! We wanted to enjoy the river with my small boat so they drove us down to a nearby boat ramp and dropped us off so we could float back towards the property! I highly recommend this location 👌

The property was more than we expected. Lots of space outside, private. Really loved the screened in porch. The amenities were minimal but everything you need. The river and springs were beautiful. The people were very friendly and helpful.

Everything you read about this property is true but understated. It's private and secluded. The hosts have made sure everything you could possibly need is at your disposal. Nature at its best...clear springs and the river right outside your door. Coffee on the screened in porch as the sun comes up. Inside is a comfortable bed and a great shower if you have not already taken advantage of the outdoor shower. It's exceptional and perfect.

Ideal get away

Maryann and Dave were wonderful, they couldn't be nicer and very welcoming. The cabin is secluded, I even saw 3 deer while walking on the property. The cabin had all the basics, we just had to bring our food. The cabin was clean with a very comfortable bed. It was so cool to have your own little private cool freshwater spring! We found the spot perfect and enjoyed kayaking the Santa Fe River. We will be back!

Magical woodland adventure

Our hosts, Dave and Maryanne were so thoughtful and easy to work with. They provided us with complete up to date information and instructions so we were fully prepared to settle in without a hitch. They gladly answered questions and corresponded in advance, giving us a warm welcome on arrival. The accomodations were lovely, the home was adorable, neat and tidy with all the comforts of home. The surrounding area was heavenly, with a wooded path leading to a small secluded spring and the Santa Fe river practically outside the door. There were trails leading to Rum Island and there were plenty of activities to keep us occupied all day and into the evening. Plenty of space for parking, outdoor seating around a firepit and a grill for cooking. Truly paradise!arrived.

Spring Hunters

We only live 2 hours away and we’ve been coming to High Springs for years. Ginnie is usually where we camp, but I decided to rent a cabin this time. All I can say is that we enjoyed our stay 100%. The owners greeted us when we got there even though it was raining. They helped us with anything we needed throughout our entire stay. We loved the 2 separate springs and state park that we’re all in walking distance from the cabin. Doug at Rum 138 is amazing if your looking to rent a kayak or canoe. The hospitality at both places was so nice. We will definitely be going back. Perfect spot for two people, shower was hot, fire pit was nice, decent sized mini fridge. We loved that our cabin was tucked into the middle of the woods, away from everything.

A great way to escape society

This charming little cabin is a great way to get away from everything with just a short drive. It is secluded enough for absolute silence other than nature at night, but close to some nice places to eat and grab coffee in High Springs. The Porch provides a great place to read at night with a screen to keep bugs away. There is also a charming hummingbird we named "Harry" who kept us company feeding at the feeder mounted right outside the porch. (It might have been actually three but they move so fast it was hard to tell. We did see a hummingbird fight though! Albeit more cute than savage) Mornings on the porch are a delight as the hours before sun up offer a ton of natural noise including owls calling to each other and what I can only describe as a monkey like screeching. I know the monkeys are in Silver Springs, but I swear they have migrated to the woods here. The hosts are wonderful but the greatest appeal of this cabin is the feeling of being completely isolated from society. It was nice to know they were on property if needed but we still felt completely natural. Go here and flop in hammock and in about 4 hours you'll be glad there isn't great cell service! -Ron & Sabrina

This cabin was the perfect getaway for enjoying the beautiful Santa Fe River and nearby springs. The location offers the right mix of nature, peace, and privacy—exactly what I was looking for. The hosts were excellent and incredibly friendly; they even went out of their way to help jump my car when my battery died, which I truly appreciated. If you’re looking for a relaxing, secluded spot surrounded by nature with thoughtful and caring hosts, this is the place.

The Real Florida up close and personal

My wife and I spent 3 nights in early May at Rum Island Cabin. It was as advertised a minimalist retreat into nature. We only scheduled 2 things: a kayak trip to Gilchrist Blue with Get Up and Go and a visit to Michael Singer's nearby Temple of the Universe. Other than that we let time go, slept peacefully until 9, visited the Springs a short walk away, and took the time to be quiet and listen to the birds. The cabin is not spacious, my wife had no place to spread out her multiple array of stuff, the bugs were doing their thing and the air was muggy (living in the Colorado high country we forgot what that was like). But it was what we wanted, nothing but us, minimal distractions and chatting with interesting locals and travelers passing by on the Santa Fe River. It's a memorable place that we will take with us. We only connected with hosts MaryAnn and Dave briefly, enough to know that they are the real deal as is the space they created at Rum Island Cabin.
