    Morgnarna är vackra och hisnande ... njut av en kopp kaffe medan du sitter utanför bredvid floden och söker ut Madson Mountain. På kvällen kan du prova på hästskor eller bara sitta runt lägerelden och dela berättelser.
En del lätt fiskeutrustning tillhandahålls för de fiskeentusiaster, eftersom de kan gå direkt ut genom dörren och våta en linje, (Fiske öppnar 11 juni). Du kan fånga en Rainbow Trout, Dolly Varden eller till och med enstaka Grayling. I mitten av augusti är den röda laxen här och lekar, de är vackra och ganska synliga att se!
Om du letar efter en mer äventyrlig fiskedag, är min son Jared en registrerad fiskeguide och skulle gärna ta emot dig.

Moose Pass är en vacker liten stad omgiven av berg, sjöar och bäckar med vandringsleder i överflöd. Möjligheterna att njuta av naturen och allt det erbjuder är oändliga. Vi bor här eftersom det är Alaska som bäst!
Sist men inte minst är det en vacker 30 minuters bilresa till hamnstaden Seward med Kenai Fjords, Exit Glacier, Alaska Sealife Center, shopping och mycket mer eller Cooper Landing och dess världsberömda ryska floden Red Salmon. Även om Homer är några timmar bort och kan vara lite av en bil, med en tidig morgonstart kan det vara ditt äventyr för dagen. Koppla av, bosätt dig och gör detta till ditt "Home Away From Home".

Little slice of Heaven

We stayed here toward the end of our Alaska vacation and it was my favorite rental! The peacefulness and quaintness were therapeutic! Everything we could possibly want or need was there. I would love to go back and stay a week! If you are contemplating staying here, stop right now and book it! Wonderful hosts on site who have perfected their little place!

Riverside cabin on Kenai Peninsula

We enjoyed staying in the beautiful surroundings outside Moose Pass for some adventures in the area. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming, providing lots of information before and during our trip that helped us plan our fun.

Great place

Great location for exploring Seward and surrounding area. This accommodated our family of 5 very comfortably. The park-like private yard was great to relax in after a day of activities.

Alaska trip

In the heart of the KP

Quiet and serene location. Occasional sounds of the Alaska railroad makes for uniqueness. Quick drives to Seward for fishing and Glacier tours. Lots of good fishing charters too. Many hiking opportunities. Hosts were the best and left us to ourselves. We were exploring most days and were glade to have quiet and comfortable evenings.

Great peaceful getaway

This is a perfect little getaway. Place is clean and cozy. Cant think of a single thing wrong with our stay. Yard is a great place to relax after being out all day. Beds are comfortable and they even had a bowl of fruit and fantastic cinnamon rolls.

Stay near Seward, AK

This was a perfect cozy spot about 20-30 minutes north of Seward! Julie was a fantastic host and made sure we had everything we needed and gave us great tips for our travels. The backyard is so nice and we got to see the friendly owl in its house. Would definitely recommend and would stay again!

Gorgeous place on the river!

My son and I stayed at Julie's place while we were in Seward for three days. It's a beautiful property right on the river. The apartment is very comfortable with everything we needed. She even provided fishing gear for my son to fish and was able to provide recommendations and was so communicative.

Amazing stay

The Jewel of the North was just that, a jewel. So clean and comfortable. Julie and Gary are wonderful people and we felt so welcome. And the homemade sweet rolls that Julie prepared for us were so delicious!! ( Sam thanks you for the seconds) we would absolutely love to stay again!

Fabulous location and great hosts!

This was such a great location for the three days we would spend on the Kenai Peninsula. A central spot that made it easy to get to Seward, Exit Glacier, Russian River, Cooper Landing, and even Kenai and Homer. The owner Julie did such a great job of making us feel welcome and helping out with every request we had, from well before the trip and during the trip. Even gave us pointers on some road closures that could have really delayed us. Being first time visitors to Alaska it was great to have a welcoming and helpful host!

Great location and great hospitality

We enjoyed our stay and would gladly return. Julie and her husband, Gary, were so gracious and supportive. She greets you in person to show you everything plus she has fresh-baked cinnamon rolls and fruit waiting for you on the table. We also took advantage of their son Jared’s guide service to fish for Sockeye Salmon and had a blast. We didn’t get a chance to use backyard but it would be a nice area to retreat if time had permitted. Special thanks to Julie. We would stay there again if in Moose Pass/Seward again.

Peaceful and beautiful

I had a great stay at Julie’s cozy, well-appointed garage apartment. I am a solo traveler and this set-up was perfect. The way the apartment was situated I had complete privacy. But Julie lived steps away! Even though it rained most days I walked down to the creek as often as I could to watch the salmon spawn in the river adjacent to the property. Nearby Moose Pass is a darling village with the added bonus of being able to watch the float planes take off and land. Seward is just 30 minutes away but this property is secluded and tranquil. Comfy bed; strong, hot water in the shower, toilet flushes well, and safe with a lovely, congenial host!

Small, but nice

We loved our stay here, especially that it was near some hiking paths and had a back yard for our party to have a bonfire and play horse shoes. It was pretty tight for 5 people, especially with just one bathroom, but we made it work with the pull out couch bed and the hide-a-bed. Julie was very accommodating and welcomed us warmly. There were just a couple suggestions for the accommodations that I will make to her that would top it all off for guests, like extra towels since ours didn't dry properly with the level of humidity, a dish cloth for washing the counters off (we used a bathroom washcloth) and extras in toilet paper, paper towels and dish towel (that never dried). I felt like we could have asked Julie for these things, but just didn't have the time. Also, the cost to do laundry seems pretty unreasonable at $6/load, but we really needed it. We made it work. Overall, pretty nice place.

I met some new Alaskan friends!!

Julie and Gary were an absolute delight to meet and get to know over the last 5 days. I thoroughly enjoyed my time in the Moose Pass suite, it’s a great place to relax. The bed is very comfortable with its warm flannel sheets and very quaint decor. I recommend staying here year round! It was nice to have fresh cinnamon buns waiting on the table for me and fresh fruit in a bowl when I arrived. Julie keeps this place meticulously clean and cute. Not only was it a joy to become friends with Julie and Gary, they are full of knowledge about the area with lots of recommendations on what to do while here. They were the gateway to some really cool things that I was able to turn into awesome memories!. Although it was rainy while I was here I was able to go on a custom boat ride in Resurrection Bay with Captain Bixler who owns Seward Ocean Excursions, I highly recommend doing this, the views are amazing. Don’t miss their highly recommended drive on the infamous Moose Pass Loop highlighting the Post office and the school, lol! I even got to experience an earthquake while I was here registering 4.1, first time feeling one of those in my life. And because of their connections in Talkeetna, I was able to arrange my next 4 nights with some friends of theirs in a cabin. Thank you, Julie and Gary for being great hosts!! I’m sure I will return with my wife next time and possibly we might be neighbors someday up in Talkeetna! Good luck to you both and thanks again for an awesome stay in Seward, Alaska!

Perfect Retreat

After a fews days in Anchorage for a conference, my husband and I wanted a tranquil retreat for the remainder of our atay in Alaska. We are so grateful that we found Jewel of the North! It was everything we wanted/needed and more. The location was just a short and beautiful drive to downtown Seward and similar to exit Glacier. After long days of hiking, sightseeing, etc. we were so grateful to return to this beautiful and clean cabin. Julie was a treasure too, and we were so thankful for the sticky buns and fruit she left in the cabin for us. We will forever recommend her cabin to anyone we know visiting Seward!

Great Private Gem by the River

We loved our stay here, we were a family of 4 (spouses and two 15 year olds) plenty of space to sleep. Very private yard right on the river or pond as they call it. They also supply fishing poles and lures for fishing and allowed us to cross their yard to the big running river! They also supplied coffee and milk, along with fresh fruit and a baked good which was delicious!! The only complaint is you can here traffic when you sit outside on the deck as they are on the main road, but it is worth the bit of noise for everything else. Highly recommend staying here!

Our son, Jared, who has been fishing since he was a toddler, is now a registered fishing guide and is one fortunate young man to being doing what he loves.
Our daughter, Gretchen, has turned into a mountain climber and hiker in the past year and can be found on the mountain tops surrounding us.
